Tri-City is actively recruiting to fill one vacancy for the position of Information Technology (IT) Specialist I within our IT Department.  Under supervision, the IT Specialist I will provide first level IT support to end users.  The IT Specialist I will report to the IT Project and Service Desk Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provide direct, first-level support to users across the Agency and provide support to help desk/service requests.

• Helping set up hardware or software, diagnosing connectivity or data access problems, answering questions about hardware or software, and helping users access shared drives and devices.

• Set up audio/visual equipment, webinars, videoconferences, etc.

• Support the IT department and the Agency by troubleshooting systems and hardware, particularly after server migration or an organization-wide update.

• Identifies issues with new hardware or software and works with users or on the back end of servers to quickly resolve those issues and prevent delays.

• Prepare reports on hardware and software issues; Install, configure and maintain software and hardware systems; Assist in development and enhancement of IT systems.

• Analyze system issues and provide resolutions;

• Assist in maintaining Agency’s asset inventory database and other databases and reports;

• Maintain information security throughout the Agency.

• Set up antivirus programs at work stations, implement policies for email security, and perform periodic data audits and backups to prevent information loss and unauthorized access.

• Maintain confidentiality and security of company documents and clients.

• Recommend process improvements to ensure system reliability, scalability, security, integrity and performance.

• Ensure that all access and distribution to protected health information is in compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, Public Law 111-005 (“HITECH Act”); and other duties as assigned.

AFTER SCHOOL COMMUNITY SERVICES ASSISTANT (ASCSA) I & II

ASCSA I: $13.39 - $16.28/hr.

ASCSA II: $14.60 - $17.75/hr.

Multiple Positions Open (part-time, at-will, no benefits)

Also hiring Substitute ASCSA I staff available a minimum of 3 days a week.

DEFINITION: Under supervision, staff will perform duties in our After School Program consisting of an educational, enrichment and recreational environment. Work schedule will NOT exceed 28 hours per week; schedule is generally 11am – 6pm (varies from site to site), Monday through Friday and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualified applicants will be invited to test or asked to provide official documentation to verify they meet the educational requirements.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE FOR ASCSA I:

• A minimum of six (6) months organized recreation, school aged child care, or teaching.
• Ability to successfully lead a group of 20 or more students in both an educational and recreational setting.
• Knowledge of positive behavior guidance techniques and the ability to use them appropriately.
• Ability to create a fun and engaging educational environment for elementary and middle school aged youth.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE FOR ASCSA II:

• A minimum of one (1) year organized recreation, child care, or teaching.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The incumbent must have the ability to:

• Work with students in reading, spelling, mathematics, and other subjects, assist with computer skills: Assist in supervising and organizing recreation activities; distribute, monitor, and maintain equipment/supplies.
• Assist in monitoring program compliance with laws, rules, and regulations; Supervise children/participants at park site or facility; lead group activities; Recommend and/or assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement policies and procedures.
• Provide information and referrals to program participants, school officials and community groups regarding program being offered; operate a computer and related software; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Perform any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Position requires prolonged standing, sitting, walking on level or unleveled and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. Incumbents may be required to lift, carry and/or push objects weighing 25 pounds or more. This position requires near and far vision for reading written documents and in the observation of participants during activities. Acute hearing is also required in providing customer service to public and /or assistance in facility, classroom, or outdoors.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:  In addition to the required minimum experience, all positions must have knowledge of teaching curriculum or learning based programs.  EDUCATION: Completion of 12th grade or equivalent; ALSO 2 or 4 year degree from an accredited college OR completion of two (2) years of higher education (48 semester/72 quarter units) OR completion of FUSD Paraprofessional testing. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS: Possession of, or ability to obtain CPR and basic first aid certifications within sixty (60) days of hire are required. A valid CA driver’s license may be required for certain positions. Candidates must be age 18 or older.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker, performs a variety of semi-skilled work in the maintenance of parks, grounds, trees, recreational facilities, public grounds, storm sewers, sidewalks, medians, street signs and markings, and repair and upkeep of streets. Operates maintenance and construction equipment; and does related work as required.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all inclusive for specific positions.

• Performs or learns to perform a variety of parks and streets maintenance tasks including watering, mowing, edging, weeding, spraying, trimming, pruning, planting and removing flowers, plants, trees and turf.
• Maintenance and reconstruction of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drains, pavement, and pavement markings.
• Assists with the installation of park, street and recreation as it relates to facility maintenance.
• Operates or is trained to operate park and street maintenance equipment and motor vehicles such as dump trucks, water trucks, backhoes/loaders, forklifts, sprayers, chippers, power mowers, edgers, hand tools, rollers, asphalt breakers, airless and air operated paint machines, air compressors, generators, hand tools and related equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance work in the care of tools and supplies.
• Assists with the installation and maintenance of traffic control and informational devices.
• May be required to work weekends or holidays or in the event of emergencies.
• Performs other related work as required.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE OF: Uses and purposes of various hand tools employed in basic laboring; safety precautions and practices necessary in working with hand tools and heavy equipment; the operation and maintenance of a variety of light and heavy equipment.

SKILL AND ABILITY TO: Perform routine maintenance activities related to park, street or facility maintenance; understand and follow oral and written instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work with the variety of tools related to maintenance; learn to operate a variety of maintenance equipment; and perform heavy manual labor.; work indoors or outdoors under adverse weather conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing maintenance activities, the Maintenance Worker is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; lift and/or move 80 lbs. Heavy physical indoor or outdoor work is required during the course of a normal maintenance work day. Work in inclement weather is also required. Work on holidays, weekends, and nights may be required.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Any combination of the listed experience and education requirements may lead to a qualifying application. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of related experience in public works maintenance and/or construction work is related but not required
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record

COMPENSATION:
This is a part-time, temporary position. Approximately 20 hours per week.
$22.00 to $27.00 hourly DOE

The City matches this 3.75% for a total contribution of 7.5% of your gross compensation per pay period.

The City of Rocklin is looking for a part-time Senior Maintenance Worker to assist in the Parks Division of the Parks & Recreation Department. The San Mateo Dispatch Center is a division of the Police Department and dispatches for 118 officers in two agencies.  The San Mateo Dispatch team is known throughout the County for its professionalism and desire to serve the public.  San Mateo dispatchers handle in excess of 50,000 calls for service each year, 300,000 telephone calls, 40,000 9-1-1 calls, while also handling over 2 million radio transmissions.

The Department has implemented an on-line reporting system and is continually evaluating other progressive alternative reporting forms to optimize technology.  The Dispatch Center provides contract dispatch services to the City of Brisbane and is currently seeking to expand that role as a regional dispatch services provider.  With a new police building, the City of San Mateo’s dispatch center is  the County’s newest state-of-the-art dispatch center.

This is the journey-level classification in the Facility Attendant series; incumbents are responsible for providing custodial and operational support to facilities, events, classes, and programs.  Incumbents are expected to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative.  Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.  This classification is distinguished from the Senior Facility Attendant in that the latter is responsible for providing custodial and operational support in a lead capacity when assigned.

This entry-level classification in the Program Leader series is responsible for providing child development services in Youth Services programs.  Incumbents at this level are not expected to function with the same amount of knowledge or skill level as positions allocated to the Senior Program Leader level, and usually exercise less independent discretion and judgment in matters related to work procedures and methods.  Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern.  Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise.  As experience is gained, assignments become more varied and are performed with greater independence.

1. Provides support duties for child development services in Youth Services programs; assists children in activities; prepares and serves snacks based on established guidelines; performs clean-up and food storage duties.

3. Uses positive reinforcement strategies to maintain order and discipline within the classroom; handles disruptions as needed.
4. Opens, secures, and cleans program areas before and after program use; prepares program areas for scheduled activities and events.
5. Assists in the implementation and monitoring of District procedures with respect to participant safety.
6. May participate in staff meetings, family conferences, and other special meetings; observes and monitors family conditions and notifies supervisor of concerns as appropriate.
7. Assists with maintaining required and appropriate documentation, including observation notes, logs, and other records.
8. May participate in public relations, outreach, and community education activities.
9. Attends staff training, workshops, and courses as directed by supervisor.

Incumbents work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels.  May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions.  May be exposed to communicable illnesses, blood, and body fluids.  Incumbents will interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Incumbents may be assigned an irregular work schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and holidays.

Must possess:  mobility to perform medium physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio.  The classification supports indoor and outdoor programs requiring frequent walking, running, conducting exercises, and related physical activities.  Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, or tools and equipment used in assigned program area.  Program activities may require sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; the ability to lift, carry, and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED, or currently enrolled in child development Regional Occupational Program (ROP).
• Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is desirable.

Knowledge of:

• Child development services, operations, and activities.
• Modern office practices, methods, computer equipment, and applications related to the work.
• Principles and practices for providing high level of customer service

Ability to:

• Learn policies, rules, regulations, operations, services, and activities related to assigned activities.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This classification is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum and instructional activities for Youth Services programs and ensuring a safe environment for participants.  Incumbents in this classification rely on experience and judgment to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the assigned program area.  Incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines, and methods to deliver services.  Work is typically reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plans, maintains, and implements a diverse range of curriculum activities, lesson plans, and positive child development strategies for Youth Services to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.

4. Assists with child assessments and environmental rating scales.
5. Provides resource information to participants; receives and responds to questions, concerns, and complaints from parents, public, and school personnel; determines issues and resolves or refers to higher-level staff as appropriate.
6. Opens, secures, and cleans program areas before and after program use; prepares program areas for scheduled activities and events.
7. Monitors equipment and facilities for cleanliness and safety; reports and recommends maintenance and repair as needed.
8. Assists with monitoring inventory and supplies.
9. Performs administrative tasks, such as attending and scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
10. Assists with staff training; participates in required training sessions, including safety drills and other emergency procedures; performs all work in a safe manner in accordance with policies and procedures.
11. May participate in parent meetings, public relations, outreach, and community education activities.
12. Assists with District special events as needed.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED, and 12 core units in college level coursework in child development; 24 core units are desirable.
  AND
• One-year relevant experience working in a childcare facility.
