Under direction, the Custodian performs routine manual cleaning tasks in public buildings, schools, other facilities, and surrounding areas. 

Examples of essential duties include but not limited to the following:

• Sweeps, scrubs, mops, spots and waxes floors; vacuums and cleans rugs and carpets.
• Cleans, dusts and polishes cabinets, furniture and woodwork; empties and cleans waste receptacles and ashtrays.
• Cleans stairways and hallways; cleans and disinfects restrooms and replenishes supplies; may perform minor duties in unplugging sinks and toilets; cleans offices and lobbies; cleans ceilings, walls, window shades, light fixtures and venetian blinds.
• Assists in moving and arranging furniture and equipment.
• Turns out lights and locks doors and windows.
• Operates scrubbers, buffers, waxers and related electrical appliances and equipment; may tend simple, low pressure heating and ventilating systems; may check water levels in gauges and periodically perform routine servicing to boilers and pumps.
• In recreational areas, cleans auditoriums, gymnasiums, club houses and locker rooms; picks up papers and rubbish in play areas; hangs flags and decorations; reports evidences of vandalism, broken plumbing, windows, doors, locks, etc.
• May wash interior glass partitions and interior and exterior windows which can be easily reached from floor or ground level.
• As school custodian, may supervise and maintain order among students during recess periods; distributes milk or other refreshments to students; performs minor duties in repairing  chairs, desks and toys.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Provides employability services to eligible applicants of local social service agencies; applies program regulations and procedures; assesses employment potential and barriers that interfere with securing employment; identifies needs for social and health services and makes referrals; collaborates with partner agencies and employers; uses an automated system to maintain and monitor participants' records and generate reports; may determine the eligibility of applicants and recipients for public assistance programs through interactive interviewing and fact gathering; and performs related work as required.

Working under close supervision, Employment & Training Worker I is the entry/trainee level in the Employment & Training Worker series. Employees in this class receive in-service training in the performance of routine duties related to the provision of employment services. As requisite skills and knowledge are developed, greater independence and the full scope of responsibility are exercised. Employees are expected to promote to Employment & Training Worker II after one year of satisfactory performance at the trainee level.

• Documents evidence of individual clients' compliance or non-compliance with program rules and regulations, and follows procedures related to the imposition of sanctions.
• Performs a variety of clerical duties related to organizing, prioritizing and scheduling assignments; meeting deadlines; completing forms, reports and other documents; maintaining automated and manual files and logs; managing client cases; and fulfilling other responsibilities as required.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative, effective working relationships with program participants; department employees; regional employers, educational facilities, trainers and all others who are program stakeholders and supporters.
• May assess family situation to determine if Family Stabilization services are appropriate.
• May develop Family Stabilization service plan with family and service providers.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Positions also responsible for determining the eligibility for public assistance programs perform the following additional duties:

• Analyzes financial information and eligibility information to determine initial or continuing eligibility for multiple aid programs.
• Enters and retrieves numerical and narrative data and issues benefits from an automated computer system.
• Assists clients in accessing community services.
• Organizes caseload so that necessary case records and documents are processed and updated within specific time limits established by regulation and local policy.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Information Systems and Technology Division is responsible for the City's network infrastructure, cybersecurity, Help Desk support, and daily IT operations. The division supports a full-service city that includes City Administration, Police, Fire, Planning, Public Works, Parks, Beaches, and Recreation departments.

THE POSITION

This is a full-time, professional level position that requires significant administrative, analytical, and technical skills. This position serves as a technical leader, providing complex analytical support.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor physical and virtual network and server infrastructure including hardware, software, real-time monitoring tools, peripherals, and devices ensuring effective performance and proper integration of components and systems with existing architecture; assist in infrastructure changes and upgrades to limit interrupted services.
• Administer automated deployment of software and updates over the network.
• Monitor and maintain security control of City network and server infrastructure; configure and monitor security features and firewall rules; verify and ensure proper user accessibility; identify and address vulnerabilities; research, recommend, and apply security updates as needed.
• Monitor disaster recovery and backup processes and schedules; verify that backups are successful and data can be recovered.
• Ensure database security by preparing access and control policies and procedures and reviewing permissions on a regular basis.
• Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor City-wide telecommunications systems including voice and data communications infrastructure and equipment; set up and maintain user accounts, access groups, extensions, and voicemail boxes; troubleshoot system-wide outages.
• Work on systems and infrastructure conversion, installation, and maintenance projects, including planning, organizing, and defining project requirements, methods, and end objectives in consultation with end users; coordinate project activities with IT Manager and IT staff, end users, and vendors.
• Maintain information on scheduled systems maintenance, including upgrades and outages.
• Respond to and resolve users’ inquiries and complaints and escalate problems or issues to vendor representatives as needed.
• Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in technology related to systems, network, server, and telecommunications; research, recommend, and evaluate vendor solutions and technologies; implement improvements upon approval.

About the Position:

The Planner I-II communicates and collaborates closely with other departments to complete project requirements, work with local jurisdictional agencies to coordinate planning and permitting efforts; direct multidisciplinary teams of consultants; prepare and present clear and concise oral and written communications to senior staff, the Board of Directors and public; keep projects on schedule and on budget while remaining flexible to adjust priorities as needed; maintain well-organized and complete project documentation; and build trust with peers, community members, stakeholders, and Midpen leadership. Planner II Annual Pay Range: $98,417-$122,882

The Planner I supports with planning and project management as described in the tasks above. Assigned tasks may be more limited in scope to Planner II and may serve to support larger scale projects managed by more senior-level staff.

Planner I Annual Pay Range: $93,735 - $117,035

Work Environment:  This position is part of the Planning Department at Midpen’s offices in Los Altos, California.  In addition to working in the office, the Planner I/II will often work in the field and hike through steep terrain and wildland areas.  Fieldwork will require driving in remote areas on dirt roads, working in temperatures ranging from cold and blustery to hot and dry, exposure to site conditions that include ticks, poisonous oak, and wildlife. The Department

The South San Francisco Public Library is a full-service library committed to delivering quality services to a diverse community.  Library services are available at three sites, including the Main Library (901 Civic Campus Way), the Grand Avenue Library (306 Walnut Avenue) and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (520 Tamarack Lane).  Lifelong literacy services are provided by Project Read at the Main Library and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (GMCLC).  The City currently has one opening in this classification, for a position providing programs and services at the GMCLC.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is currently hiring to fill one full time vacancy for a bilingual Office Specialist. The Office Specialist provides difficult, complex, and specialized administrative support to assigned departmental projects and programs; develops, summarizes, and maintains administrative and financial records; types, edits, processes, distributes, and files a variety of documents; enters data and information into various databases and computer systems; and performs related duties as assigned.

The Department

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem-solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources.

The Position

The Human Services Specialist (Family Partner) will work as part of a team with counselors and case managers to provide services to parents and their children in Fremont, Newark and Union City. The incumbent will provide peer support and assist families in navigating systems and accessing needed services while promoting independence and advocacy skills through a respectful and non-judgmental manner. The Family Partner uses their own personal lived experience and ensures that the family’s perspective is represented in the provision of all services which will be conducted in the child’s home or school, at Youth and Family Services’ clinic located at the Fremont Family Resource Center or in other community settings.

The annual salary range for this position is $119,994.36 - $155,300.16.  This position will be filled at or near the minimum of the salary range.

Education
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field. A Master's degree in Public or Business Administration or closely related field is desirable.

Experience
One (1) year of experience performing analytical work.
 
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Possession of an appropriate, valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment and for duration of employment.
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
 Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job assignment.
