The Community  Action Program Specialist determines client’s needs for program services and provides case management and/or crisis intervention in one or more various program areas. The Community Action Program Specialist II is the full journey level class within the series and is   distinguished from the entry level class by the performance of the full range of duties, including the more complex cases. This position is full-time and is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Analyzes clients’ financial and eligibility information to determine initial or continuing eligibility for programs.

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Housing Specialist I to join the Housing Division in the Community Development Department. Under direction of the Housing Officer, the Housing Specialist I will play a key role in the planning and development of new affordable housing, creating new housing programs, implementing the Housing Element, applying for grants/funding to support affordable housing, and monitoring housing legislation. The Department:
The responsibilities of the City Attorney's Office broadly consist of representing and advising the City Council, City officials, and employees of all City departments in all matters of law pertaining to their offices and departments. This includes appearing on behalf of the City in legal actions or proceedings, providing the City Council with information and advice on wide range of legal matters including litigation and new legislation, and staffing City Council and City Board and Commission meetings as necessary. The City Attorney's Office provides legal advice and support on matters initiated by the City Council, City Manager's Office, and all City departments. The Position:
The City is recruiting to fill one (1) Assistant City Attorney position. Ideally, the position will be assigned to act as the primary advisor to the City’s Human Resources Department, with additional general municipal areas of work for other departments including but not limited to finance, governance, conflicts of interest, open meetings, and public records.
 
The position is expected to perform a wide variety of legal services ranging from litigation (or litigation management) of  administrative matters (such as internal disciplinary appeals, PERB UPC charges, and CalPERS determinations) to collective bargaining and MOU review/drafting; legal research and drafting opinions; negotiating contracts; drafting disciplinary documents; drafting resolutions and ordinances; providing on-call legal support to all divisions of the Human Resources Department (records, benefits, testing, classification, labor, workers compensation, recruitment, safety, risk management, etc.); and, staffing commission meetings such as the Civil Service Commission and Salary Setting Commission. The ideal candidate will also have experience defending  allegations of misconduct in personnel matters, significant experience advising on human resource issues, including Fair Labor Standards Act, Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, labor negotiations, California Public Employees’ Retirement Law, state and federal benefits/leave laws, state and federal employment-related tax laws, and experience providing training in laws, regulations, policies and best practices in personnel management and workplace misconduct

Minimum Qualifications

EXPERIENCE
• J.D. or L.L.B. from an accredited law school;

• One year of supervisory experience is desirable; and
• Trial experience is highly desirable.

CERTIFICATION
• Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California is required;
• Admission to the Federal District Court and Federal Appeals Court Bar is desirable.

LICENSE:

The City Manager is the administrative head of the government of the City. ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting for part-time Recreation Leaders II/III assigned to the Adaptive Program. The main goal of the City of Gilroy’s Recreation Division is to offer excellent recreation programs that provide community members with a wide range of opportunities to celebrate life and community through people, parks, programs, and special events which are delivered by a team of employees dedicated to offering quality recreational, social, and cultural services to all Gilroy residents. 
 
Under direct supervision of a Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Leader II/III will assist, plan, organize, and lead the physical, recreational, and social activities of assigned recreation programs. Program area focus is Adaptive (Special Needs), but you might be asked to support another recreation area.

 When assigned to the Adaptive Program, the leader will have an opportunity to have hands-on experience working with a special needs population.  Disabilities of participants vary in range from non-communicative to diminished motor skills to severe autism.  The position will report to an experienced staff member.  As related experience is gained as noted in the job qualifications and requirements, and with the recommendation in the employee’s performance evaluation, Recreation Leaders can advance from Recreation Leader II to Recreation Leader III.  As the employee advances through the job series the employee will take on more responsibility and more challenging work assignments.
