SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs custodial duties related to the care and cleaning of assigned facilities; performs a wide variety of duties for events, classes, and programs, including, but not limited to, set-up and tear-down of tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies; performs minor maintenance and repairs; and performs related work as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives supervision from supervisory staff and direction from higher-level staff.  Exercises direction over lower-level staff.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the journey-level classification in the Facility Attendant series; incumbents are responsible for providing custodial and operational support to facilities, events, classes, and programs.  Incumbents are expected to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative.  Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.  This classification is distinguished from the Senior Facility Attendant in that the latter is responsible for providing custodial and operational support in a lead capacity when assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job.

1. Performs custodial duties at assigned facilities, including, but not limited to, cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, stripping, and polishing floors; cleaning furniture, woodwork, fixtures, equipment, supplies, doors, windows, walls, walkways, driveways, and facility grounds; disposing of trash. 
2. Provides operational support for events, classes, and programs, including, but not limited to, set-up and tear-down of tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies.
3. Inspects facilities and equipment, reports issues in a timely manner to appropriate higher-level staff; performs minor facility maintenance.
4. Monitors and enforces rules, policies, and procedures.
5. Maintains logs and records of activities.
6. Receives and responds to questions, concerns, and complaints from patrons; determines issues and resolves or refers to higher-level staff as appropriate.
7. Assists with opening, closing, and securing facilities in compliance with policies and procedures.
8. Participates in required training sessions, including safety drills and other emergency procedures; performs all work in a safe manner in accordance with policies and procedures.
9. Assists with District special events as needed.
10. Performs related duties as assigned.

 
ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS
Incumbents work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels, wet and slippery conditions, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes.  May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions.  Incumbents will interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Incumbents may be assigned an irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must possess:  mobility, strength, and stamina to perform physical work for extended periods of time; to operate a wide variety of cleaning tools and equipment, and to operate a motor vehicle; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio.  Finger dexterity needed to operate tools and equipment.  Work activities may require standing, walking on uneven and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties.  Incumbents must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED is desirable.
• Experience in custodial and facility operations is desirable.
   

Knowledge of:

• Principles and practices of custodial and facility operations.
• Safety practices and equipment related to the work.
• Modern office practices, methods, computer equipment, and applications related to the work.
• Principles and practices of customer service, techniques for providing a high level of customer service.

TECHNICAL SPECIALIST - GIS

Salary Range: $25.73 - $35.35 (part-time/non-benefitted position)

DEFINITION

The position of Technical Specialist – GIS, will develop, support, and maintain new and existing GIS (Geographic Information System) layers and GIS user applications in a LAN/WAN and cloud environment. As part of the Information Technology Division, this position provides Town-wide GIS support to Town staff, with an emphasis on the Administrative Services Department (Economic Development and Community Events), and Development Services Department (Planning, Engineering, and Transportation Divisions).

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This class is distinguished from the other positions in the Information Technology Division by its part-time status and the specific emphasis on development, implementation, and increasing usage of Geographic Information System by multiple departments. Under direction, the individual is responsible for organizing and performing analytical work within established schedules and standards using independent judgment and solving overall system problems.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Position reports to an Information Technology Analyst within the Administrative Services Department.  This is a journey level technical classification in the Information Technology Division.  Employees at this level will receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of and follow operating procedures and policies.  Successful performance of work requires the ability to work independently, perform complex analyses and research, assist Town staff in the use of the GIS system, and effectively facilitate group discussions. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

The position will be responsible for the following primary tasks, including:

• Develop and maintain geographic information
• Maintain the Town’s GIS base layer
• Provide ad-hoc geographic data manipulation
• Perform spatial analysis for all facets of the Town’s GIS including the vector and attribute information and system interfaces
• Train GIS users in classroom and one-on-one settings
• Develop system documentation and user manuals
• Provide technical assistance with GIS applications and queries to all departments and divisions, as required
• Perform movement of equipment, as needed (up to 50 pounds)
• Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• The concepts and use of GIS systems in general; current versions of ESRI’s ArcGIS/ArcMap geographic information software suite
• Local Area Networking Concepts (Microsoft)
• SQL Server databases as well as all forms of databases in general
• Windows 7 and 10 or higher desktop operating systems
• Microsoft Office Professional applications; knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012, SQL Server database applications, networking devices and protocols, peripheral devices (external drives, printers, plotters, etc.) and their integration into systems is a plus.

Ability to:

• Design GIS databases; develop map production system to support Town needs
• Research and determine the accuracy of new and existing map layers through inspections and documentations
• Develop a map/layer library; standardize GIS methodology and document the GIS system; develop system handbook and procedures; maintain GIS layers

• Maintain knowledge of GIS innovations and related hardware/software

Any combination equivalent to two (2) years of college level coursework from a fully accredited college or university with a major in GIS, geography, computer science or a related field or three (3) years of related GIS work experience using ESRI products including ArcGIS and ArcMap.  Experience with Tyler Technologies Energov Land Management application is also desirable. A Bachelor’s Degree is highly desirable.

The Waterpark Deck Crew provides custodial maintenance and supervision of the Waterpark before, during, and after Waterpark operations.  Work hours may vary but will often be mornings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

AC Transit is actively searching for an experienced Executive Administrative Assistant for its office in Oakland, California. This position will provide exceptional and professional administrative support to one of AC Transit's Board Officers, the District Secretary.

In this role, the executive administrative assistant will perform critical administrative duties for the District Secretary's Office, including managing calendars, preparing and editing correspondence and reports, creating agendas and proofreading official District documents for proper English language usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

THE POSITION

Under general direction, the Web and Database Administrator coordinates the design, development, programming, and maintenance of the City’s Internet and Intranet web sites; maintains on premise and cloud databases and related services, including the security, effectiveness, efficiency, appeal and troubleshooting of databases; and develops databases and/or web applications that are in compliance with applicable city government requirements, standards and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Duties may include but are not limited to the following: 

• Strategically plan, develop, execute and manage the City website (architecture, format and design) in a way that makes it user friendly and effective;
• Design and optimize city Intranet site on SharePoint, using feedback from department leads and power users.

AC Transit is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Superintendent. This position serves as the primary maintenance manager overseeing one of our divisions. Under general direction, this positions plans, coordinates, and directs the cleaning, service maintenance, repair, and overhaul of District vehicles for an assigned operating division. REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS:

• Develops and implements performance goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work plans for the assigned Maintenance division.

• Analyzes and maintains a wide variety of computerized and paper records, including buses "out late;" road call statistics and reasons; breakdown reports by specific manufacturer and equipment type; fuel, oil, and lubricant consumption; vehicle repairs; accumulated engine mileage; tire life; and overhaul status.
• Analyzes the causes of unscheduled maintenance, implements reduction plans, reviews results, and modifies as needed to attain on-time performance acceptable to the District. Supervises staff directly, and through subordinate supervisors.Monitors the assignment and completion of projects and jobs, including staff performance.
• Authorizes and monitors the training of division maintenance personnel.
• Counsels employees on problems affecting work performance.Determines the need for discipline, issues adverse letters, and participates in disciplinary or grievance hearings.
• Meets informally with union officials and/or shop stewards to resolve concerns regarding working conditions; in order to avoid grievances.
• Consults with Transportation Department personnel regarding the availability of revenue vehicles, and other requirements.
• Schedules major and minor bus component replacement and overhauls. Coordinates the installation of new equipment, such as wheelchair lifts, and electronic fare boxes.
• Schedules construction, remodeling, or repair of buildings, equipment, and premises.
• Consults with the staff of the Procurement Department and Materials unit to set specifications, and review tool and equipment orders.
• Provides cost estimates to the Claims Department, as well as vehicle failure information pertinent to the resolution of claims.
• Prepares estimates of labor, parts, and material costs for vehicle and facilities maintenance projects and activities.
• Consults with representatives of vehicle and parts manufacturers in regard to District performance requirements, vehicle and equipment wear, failure trends, and other issues.
• Enforces Cal/OSHA laws and District safety rules and regulations.Submits industrial injury reports following OSHA guidelines.
• Initiates and signs all department turn-around documents, including job vacancies and job postings. Ensures the confidentiality and security of all division personnel records.
• Performs periodic personal inspection tours of all division maintenance facilities, including individual shops and buses, during on-duty hours.
• Initiates and responds to correspondence, telephone calls, and emails.
• May be required to temporarily replace or act in the position of the senior District staff member to whom this position normally reports, and may be required to perform some or all the senior staff members representative functions in these situations.
• Performs related duties, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Administration, Management, or a similar field.

Experience: Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in heavy duty-coach maintenance, at least three (3) years of which involved supervisory and/or management level experience and responsibilities equivalent to an AC Transit Senior Maintenance Supervisor.

• Assists in performing a variety of system set-up, configuration and maintenance activities including performing audits of the payable time and exceptions; maintain and monitor the time and labor system set-up tables and resolve issues.
• Reviews payroll computations to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal tax regulations.
• Assists in assembling materials, analyzing, and preparing PBC's ("prepared by client") schedules per auditor request and specifications.
• Creates and provides various queries, necessary for the creation of financial reports on an ad-hoc basis by extracting, compiling, analyzing, and formatting financial data.
• Implementation of new systems or system enhancements, including coordinating with affected departments.
• Attends and participates in professional group meetings and committees; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of payroll processing and time reporting, stays abreast of federal, state, and local regulations and related to wage and hour laws to ensure the District's compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

AC Transit is currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Administrative Specialist. Under general supervision of the District Secretary, provides professional-level, administrative and support duties for the District Secretary and the Board of Directors. The classification independently performs a wide variety of complex, technical, and time-sensitive administrative duties and assumes the responsibilities for the Assistant District Secretary in his/her absence. This classification is distinguished from other administrative support classifications by its frequent contact with the District's leadership team, Board Members and the public. Incumbents frequently work with and maintain confidential information pertaining to financial, political, and personnel matters having District-wide impact. REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS:

• Serves as the primary administrative support to the District Secretary.
• Prepares, edits, proofreads, and processes a variety of routine to complex documents and correspondence including forms, memos, financial and staff reports; completes critical, time-sensitive, and/or confidential documentation for internal and external stakeholders; may certify a variety of documents on behalf of the District Secretary.
• Provides logistical support for Board of Director's and Committee meetings, including, but not limited to organization, equipment testing, meeting set-up and clean-up, meals, and distribution of information; attends meetings and public hearings as required.
• Distributes the agenda to outside agencies/organizations; prepares minute orders from the official minutes of Board and Committee meetings for all agenda items.
• Assists in the implementation of the records management and retention program within the District Secretary's Office.
• Prepares resolutions and ordinances adopted by the Board for signature.
• Maintains the District Secretary's Master Outlook Calendar of Board meetings and individual Board member meetings; schedules meetings as requested and accepts meetings into the calendar.
• Utilizes the District Secretary's agenda management software to calendar all Board and Committee meetings and reviews and may approve routine reports on behalf of the District Secretary.
• Sets up new users in the agenda management system and assigns user access at the direction of the District Secretary or the Assistant District Secretary; directs new users to training resources; may troubleshoot user issues as needed and stays abreast of new system features and requirements.
• Maintains the District Secretary and Board of Directors intranet pages; updates Board information and policies; posts new content on the District's website as needed.
• Assists Board members with issues pertaining to routine use of smartphones, tablet devices, and applications; interfaces with the Department of Innovation and Technology when required to troubleshoot technology related problems and service issues.
• Serves as the primary point of contact in processing tort claims, summons and complaint, and small claims filings.
• Processes assuming and leaving office Statement of Economic Interest forms and related filings.
• Monitors budget expenditures calculates monthly reconciliations, and prepares Board payroll and other financial documentation.
• Tracks customer complaints and follows-up with appropriate staff to ensure timely response.
• Coordinates all travel arrangements for the Board and District Secretary's Office, including itineraries, and prepares quarterly travel reports for Board members and Officers; prepares and processes cash advances and expense claims.
• Monitors electronic correspondence and responds to requests as directed.
• Opens, scans, and distributes incoming mail; uploads and indexes electronic documents.
• Prepares check requests, special requisitions, petty cash reimbursements, purchase order payments; verifies the accuracy of vendor invoices and processes payments.
• Orders and maintains an inventory of office and meeting supplies.
• Coordinates or assists in the coordination of special administrative projects.
• May assist in the preparation of agendas and minutes as needed.
• May prepare transcripts of testimony given at Board meetings or public hearings or recorded testimony or comments received.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.

Experience: Equivalent to five (5) years of increasingly responsible administrative support experience for management personnel involving frequent public contact; including (3) years in a public or governmental agency that operates under the Brown Act at the level-of an executive assistant, senior administrative assistant, administrative coordinator, deputy city clerk, or equivalent.
