Principal Planner

 

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Principal Planner to join the Community Development Department.  Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Community Development or Planning Officer, the Planning Division is organized into teams which are overseen by Principal Planners who plan, direct, perform and supervise a variety of complex technical planning activities, and related work as required, relative to the assigned area of responsibility.

The San Mateo County Controller's Office is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Application Support Analyst III.

The Controller’s Office

The mission of the Controller’s Office of San Mateo County is to promote the County's operational effectiveness and ensure its financial transparency and integrity by providing quality accounting, audit, and financial reporting services.
   
The Controller's Office maintains the County’s accounting system and records, and prepares independently audited, award-winning annual financial reports (ACFR and PAFR) that disclose the financial condition of the County to the public. We are staffed with 51 full-time accounting, audit, and information systems professionals. The office also calculates annual property tax bill amounts, distribute taxes collected to local government agencies, and performs internal audits of the County’s operations.
  
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Controller’s Information Systems (CIS) team to support various mission-critical applications for the County as they pertain to finance, expense reimbursements, timekeeping, as well as support Countywide system integrations.  
  
As an Application Support Analyst III, you will leverage your systems expertise to collaborate and consult with colleagues within the Controller’s Office and other County fiscal and/or technical staff and resolve issues related to the systems, improve business processes by recommending and implementing solutions within the systems, process requests such as report and integrations development, and maintain application security at both an authentication and application access level.  
  
This role will entail hands-on support, administration, configuration, and maintenance of multiple related financial systems, including Finance Enterprise by CentralSquare for general accounting, Coupa for accounts payable and vendor onboarding, and Workday Expense for employee expense reimbursements.  
 
While the ideal candidate has experience in all of these systems, we are also accepting candidates who have experience and expertise in at least one of the aforementioned systems but can demonstrate transferable skills to learn the other systems and applications.
   

The ideal candidate will also have:

• 5+ years of proven application support and administration experience, preferably in Finance Enterprise, Coupa, and/or Workday Expense.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. 

A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in management information systems, computer science, or a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in applications analysis, design, and development.

Physical Demands

The Position 

The Senior Transportation Planner under general direction, organizes, reviews, and participates in transportation planning work; supervises the work of professional and technical transportation planning personnel, projects, and other activities; and performs other related work as required 

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Supervises professional and technical staff, including prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, training staff, and supporting hiring decisions in consultation with the Engineering Manager, Deputy Director, and Department Head.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

• Plan, test, and implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
• Assist with or lead procurement, installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware and software.

• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, networks, workstations, and other IT infrastructure used by the Police Department and other Town departments.
• Serve as a member of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Team responsible for developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting all aspects of EOC technology.
• Coordinate with and manage external vendors for system upgrades, maintenance, and new technology rollouts.
• Assist with or lead technology projects from conception to implementation.
