The position of Administrative Analyst is a fully qualified journey-level professional classification. Administrative Analyst is distinguished from Management Analyst in that the Management Analyst has a higher level of managerial, budgetary and program administration responsibility. The current vacancy is in the Information Technology Department; however, the eligibility list established from this recruitment may also be used to fill future Administrative Analyst vacancies in other Departments throughout the City.

Highly Desirable Qualifications:

• Ability to determine the scope, cost, and time for existing and new OSP/ISP projects that are moderate to complex in a matrix environment.
• Outside/Inside plant construction and project management experience and inventory management experience.
• Familiarity with data center industry standards, building codes, and safety standards.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of fiber optic engineering principles with OSP job-related functional areas to include general best practices, procedures, and industry standards.
• 5 years or more experiences working in mission critical environments (e.g., airports, utilities, telecommunications carriers, etc.) requiring coordination across multi-disciplines for delivering a common goal.
• 5+ years mission critical Data Center operations experience.
• 5+ years' Telecom industry experience.
• 5+ years' experience with Outside Plant cabling (OSP) & Inside Plant cabling (ISP), structured cabling systems.
• Experience coordinating with GIS teams to ensure as-builts are reflected in existing mapping tools.
• Experience working with GIS teams to document all fiber paths, terminations, and splices for all cabling projects.

Salary Information:
The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate's qualifications and experience. The below salary ranges include an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay.

We're seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join our Safety & Health team at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). In this position, you'll handle challenging industrial hygiene tasks related to hazardous materials and other health and environmental risks at the Airport. You'll independently conduct regular monitoring of chemical, biological, and physical agents, while also serving as a technical expert and consultant in implementing occupational safety and health regulations. Your responsibilities include assessing industrial hygiene data concerning public health matters, designing and delivering occupational health and safety training sessions, responding to and assessing hazardous materials incidents, conducting ergonomic assessments, and fulfilling any other related duties as needed.

Essential Duties: 

• Serves as a technical advisor to departmental management and other personnel in identifying, containing, and regulating the use and storage of hazardous materials; in developing and implementing inspection practices and procedures.
• Investigates and evaluates health and safety hazards and coordinates remedial action with representatives from various City and County departments, other agencies, businesses, and the public; conducts surveys of potentially hazardous workplace operations, including monitoring for physical, biological, and chemical agents, evaluating results, recommending corrective actions and preparing reports.

Education:

Experience:

Two (2) years of professional industrial experience equivalent to the level of City and County of San Francisco classes 6137 Assistant Industrial Hygienist or higher, which must have included professional industrial hygiene activities including either hazardous materials management or identification, evaluation, and control of occupational health hazards, such as noise, radiation, asbestos, various chemicals, etc.

License and Certification:

Possession of a valid driver's license; if not a California driver's license ability to obtain a California Driver’s License within 45 days of hire.

Substitution:

Monitor cyber security logs, respond to cyber security incidents, plan design, and implement a variety of complex cyber security systems assists with determining hardware and software systems requirements and specifications; performs a variety of complex technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
 
Serves as the technical lead on the design and implementation of Valley Water’s most complex and highly integrated Cyber Security systems involving new, unfamiliar, or emerging technologies; to perform the most complex professional level duties in the development, installation, coding, integration, documentation, testing, and maintenance of Cyber Security controls and systems; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cyber Security: monitor and maintain security on infrastructure systems including IT security applications and appliances. DEFINITION

• OPERATOR I (COLLECTION)
  Under general supervision or direction, the Operator I (Collection) is responsible for the overall operation of the wastewater collections system, which includes the repair and maintenance of the sewer collection system and pump stations.
   
• OPERATOR II (COLLECTION)
  Under general direction, supervises the operation of the Collections System of the Wastewater Treatment Plant on a designated shift to ensure processing and discharge of wastewater which complies with performance standards of State regulatory agencies; perform any combination of tasks involved with inspection, construction, repair, and preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance of sanitary personnel; prepares logs and other records; performs maintenance tasks as required and other related duties as required.
   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS

For the Collections System, ability to locate, detect cause, and correct sewer stoppages; detect and perform minor repairs and adjustments to sewer equipment; maintain pumps and related mechanical equipment; and report to work at any time during an emergency.  Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, maintenance work and modification to equipment used in a water quality control plant; use various mechanic’s tools with skill and accuracy; available for standby on sewer calls on a rotation basis; follow oral and written directions; maintain working relationships with other employees.  (See Physical Demands section as it relates to Essential Function Requirements.)

  • Lead a crew in the safe performance of preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of sanitary sewers
  • Respond to service requests, unclog mainline stoppages, and keep records on sewer line cleanings and state of existing problems within the Collections System
  • Repair mainline breaks, replace broken pipe and reconnect pipe sections
  • Operate power rodder, jet truck, backhoe and TV equipment
  • Conduct periodic inspections and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to wastewater pumping stations and equipment
  • Keep daily logs and records on equipment; makes reports to the supervisor
  • Provide technical assistance and prescribe work methods and safety procedures to maintenance workers and utility workers
  • Inspect installation of new sewer lines, laterals and related structures; may study blueprints and specifications preparatory to inspection of construction project
  • Supervises the work of all operating personnel assigned to shift; trains and evaluates performance of shift employees, enforces safety procedures in conformance with policy of plant’s safety program.

Undergraduate candidates must have a minimum of 48 semester units or equivalent completed.  Applicants should also be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal skills, able to use Microsoft Office software, demonstrate good research ability and have the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. 

SALARY AND HOURS: The salary range for Interns is $20.00 per hour, 15-18 hours per week over a 12-week period.  The start date is flexible depending on the student’s availability.

The City of Rocklin is currently accepting applications for a full-time Landscape Services Worker in the Parks and Recreation Department.

THE POSITION

Under general supervision, the Landscape Services Worker performs a variety of landscapes and/or recreational facility maintenance and repair work; provides maintenance support to the Landscape Services Division; and performs related work as required. Examples of duties are:

• Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled tasks in the construction and repair of landscapes, and park facilities such as installing and maintaining signs, erecting safety structures (i.e., barricades), installing park structures (i.e., benches, tables, awnings), building and maintaining fences and removing and pouring concrete.
• Inspects assigned landscape areas for safety, appearance and vandalism.
• Cleans and clears landscapes, facilities, structures and playing fields of debris and potentially dangerous conditions.
• Inspects and repairs playground equipment, picnic tables, barbecues, and other related park equipment.
• Plants, mows, prunes, and maintains turf, trees, shrubs, and plants; clears sites of weeds.
• Prepares and maintains athletic fields and related facilities; grades, fills and shapes baseball diamonds.
• Performs minor maintenance and repairs on equipment of park facilities such as replacing light bulbs, repairing electrical equipment (i.e., scoreboards), and laying conduit and pulling wire.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade

AND

One (1) year of experience in the maintenance, modification, and repair of parks, medians, and landscaped areas.

License Requirements

• A valid California Class C driver license or higher with a satisfactory driving record is required at the time of appointment. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
•  A valid California Class A driver license with a satisfactory driving record is required within twelve (12) months of appointment.
• A Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certificate issued by the International Municipal Signal Association (I.M.S.A.), or successful completion of the Traffic Control Technician-CA State Specific Training Course thru the American Traffic Safety Services Association is required within twelve (12) months of appointment.
• Qualified Pesticide Applicator Certificate issued by the Department of Pesticide Regulation is desirable.
• A Playground Safety Certificate is desirable.
