THE POSITION
The Child Support Attorney position provides a wide range of civil activities in the areas of child support and paternity; and to perform related work as required at the Glenn County Department of Child Support. This position is at-Will, Temporary and Part-Time - scheduled for up to twenty (20) hours per week. JOB TYPE

THE POSITION

Under general supervision, lead and conduct activities in the delivery of recreation program areas including preschool, playground, after school programs, parks, teens, sports, special events, and senior citizen; Oversee the proper use of a community recreational facility; perform a variety of custodial tasks; assist the public and staff in their use of the facility.

The Recreation Leader classification is distinguished from the Recreation Aide level in the complexity of duties assigned, independence of action taken, the amount of time spent performing the duties, the nature of the public contact made, and its training responsibilities of new staff. Positions at this level are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned area of responsibility.

The Recreation Leader position may be assigned to the following areas:

Heritage Park and Museums: Under general supervision, this assignment includes setting up and cleaning community recreational facilities before, during and after activities and rentals. This position will also provide facility and exhibit orientations and/or tours including appropriate tour materials.

Preschool Program: Under general supervision, this assignment assists with organization and instruction of preschool classes for children 18 months through 5 years. Duties also include developing and directing weekly lesson plans and activities.

Shannon Community Center: Under general supervision, this assignment oversees the proper use of a community recreational facility; performs a variety of custodial tasks; and assists the public and staff in their use of the facility.

Sports Programs: Under general supervision, this assignment is responsible for officiating a variety of sports league events and also serves as official scorer-of-record at sports events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, oversee, and conduct recreational activities in program areas such as preschool, playground, parks, after school programming, teens, sports, museum, special events, and senior citizen activities.
• Conduct activities in areas such as arts and crafts, games, sports, music, drama, and nature study. Instruct participants in the rules and methods of playing indoor and outdoor games.
• Inspect activity areas and related equipment, make written reports of damage to equipment or facility and recommend maintenance and repair, as appropriate.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations; maintain orderly participant conduct.
• Provide minor first aid to recreation program participants/spectators and/or perform related first aid/emergency techniques.
• Exercise precautions necessary to ensure the safety of recreation program participants and spectators.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
• Open and close facilities as scheduled for use; clean up after facility users and set up for subsequent activities; secure the facility upon leaving.
• Set up furniture or equipment for activities scheduled and see that it is in proper condition and is replaced after use.
• Sweep and mop floors as required; keep restrooms and kitchen clean and well stocked with paper towels, tissues, etc.; empty trash receptacles throughout the facility as necessary.
• Responsible for monitoring adherence to building rules and party limitations. Maintain records and complete written program plans and reports.
• When work assignments are in public area of assigned facility, greet visitors, collect fees, have visitors sign guest book.
• Provide facility and exhibit orientations and/or tours including appropriate tour materials.
• Develop weekly lesson plans; plan and direct lessons, games, crafts and songs for after school and pre-school programs.
• Function as supervising attendant for evening rentals and weekday evening shifts, as necessary. Monitor patrons, patrol parks and enforce rules to ensure that permit areas are safe, clean, and functional; notify Dublin Police Services as deemed necessary.
• Observe park conditions to ensure that permit areas, including picnic areas and fields are within appropriate standards.
• Post City information as required and remove outdated and or unauthorized notices. Confirm reservations for specific permitted areas; resolve conflicts when appropriate.
• Provide advice and information on park and recreation regulations to the public when requested and/or as needed; prepare incident reports and related documentation as needed.
• Train and oversee activities of part-time staff, as assigned.
• Ensure that activities operate in accordance with general department philosophy, objectives and guidelines.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

• Conduct sports contests according to rules of the game and maintain control of the contest.
• Oversee the work of scoring officials to ensure proper timing and scoring of the event; perform as official scorer-of-record.
• Inspect playing field area and equipment prior to play to ensure preparation and safety for play to begin.
• Ensure safety of players and spectators.
• Notify appropriate City staff regarding necessary repair and/or replacement of play areas/related equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

THE POSITION

The Facility Attendant serves as the first point of contact with community center users during evening and weekend activities and rentals. The ideal candidate should enjoy serving the public, possess confident communication and customer service skills, and be able to function in a setting that may be at times busy and fast-paced or quiet and slow.

The position will typically work on two or three weekday evenings (Mon.-Fri.), from 5:00 pm until close (2-4 hours), two or three Saturdays each month (approximately 6-9 hours, daytime or evening), and occasional Sundays (daytime or evening); a typical schedule will be about 13-18 hours per week, variable based on the weekly facility use program schedule, and set in advance by the Facility Coordinator.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Provide friendly, professional customer service to Community Center users, serving as main point of contact during evening and weekend activities, and maintaining a consistent presence for users at all times.
• Follow and explain City and department policies, procedures, and facility use guidelines.
• May assist user groups with indoor or outdoor event set up and take down of equipment and/or furniture such as tables, chairs, podiums, and A/V equipment.
• Locks and unlocks facility doors on schedule; secures buildings during and after activities/rentals.
• Updates attendance sheets, tally sheets and user status sheets.
• May perform clean up duties as needed, including but not limited to: move and arrange furniture and equipment, restroom cleaning, sweeping and mopping, and garbage pick-up and removal.

The City of Citrus Heights is seeking Part-time Facility Attendant Trainee’s to assist the public in their use of the Community Center and City Hall facilities for scheduled events.

The Facility Attendant Trainee’s will be expected to perform a wide variety of duties including preparing the facility for use by private parties and community groups of up to 500 guests or more.

Included but not limited to, set up/take down tables and chairs; minor maintenance and janitorial duties, set up of audio-visual systems, open and close facility for daytime, evening, and weekend rentals.

Work Schedule

The specific work schedule(s) of a Facility Attendant Trainee should have flexible availability to open and close rental facilities for daytime, evening, and weekend rentals based on the needs of the City.  Facility Attendant Trainees will generally work less than 29 hours per week.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under general supervision, performs custodial services to maintain assigned area in a clean, orderly, safe and secure fashion, and performs related duties as required.  Must be available mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Parks Maintenance Assistant

(Part Time 28 hours per week)

Under immediate supervision, part-time maintenance assistants performs unskilled and semiskilled tasks in the maintenance of parks and landscapes, trees, medians, facilities, streets, storm drains, water, electrical and other related duties as assigned.

This is a part-time, seasonal position with the Parks Maintenance Division and provides assistance to either the Parks and or Facilities Maintenance. It is distinguished from the Parks or Streets Maintenance Worker I positions as there are no special license requirements and it is not a flexibly staffed position.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist in the maintenance tasks associated with the care of grounds, landscaping, trees, facilities, parking areas, streets, water, storm drains and electrical utilities.
• Cleans and removes debris and litter from parks, restrooms, landscapes, facilities, parking lots, streets, gutters, storm drains, catch basins, drainage ditches, sidewalks, and street construction sites by shoveling, raking, sweeping, and picking up debris.
• Operates vehicles, equipment and power tools necessary to complete maintenance for the above assigned areas. If properly licensed may drive large two axle trucks as directed.
• Assists in digging holes and trenching for irrigation repairs and installation.
• Assist in loading, transporting, and unloading equipment, materials, debris, and other heavy objects related to maintenance.
• Sets up traffic control including signs and barricades, and directs traffic or acts as flag person to direct traffic around work sites.
• Helps repair and maintain fences, playground equipment, gates, doors, roofs, walks and walkways, sidewalks and gutters using hammer, saws, paint brushes and appropriate hand tools, spade, pick, hoe, shovels, tamper and jack hammer as directed.
• Assists with custodial duties throughout city facilities as needed. Duties may include restroom cleaning, emptying garbage, recycle, and compost receptacles, setting up for special events, mopping, vacuuming, floor finishing, window cleaning, etc.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of functions, characteristics and proper use and care of common hand tools and safe work practices.

Ability to be trained in the use of supplies, tools and equipment used in in the work areas as described above in a variety of weather conditions; basic skills in following simple oral and written instructions; skills in performing manual work, lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other persons.

Applicants should have the ability to read, write and carry out oral and written directions, maintain cooperative work relationships and work outdoors. The applicants must posses a valid California Drivers License and have a good driving record (recent DMV printout required).

Paid Internship for someone who wants to do Television Production. Sure, go to the big stations and you will get to sweep, file and answer phones. Work at San Bruno Cable TV Channel 1 and you will operate cameras, set up lights, troubleshoot, edit, program and more! Pay starts at $16/hour.

We are looking for enthusiastic people who ask questions. A flexible schedule is necessary, as we have evening meetings, and we tape programs during the day. Must be available Tuesday evenings for City meetings. The Production Aide may be required to work multiple evenings per month. Availability for productions during the daytime is helpful. Office and prep hours may be scheduled as mutually agreeable. Expect to work up to 15 hours a week. A reliable vehicle to get to locations is a must. 1 year prior experience in video production setting necessary. The Production Aide works directly with government clients and will be expected to take care with his or her appearance. A familiarity with the workings of local government and an interest in government would be very helpful.
