DEFINITION:

Under the general direction from Union City’s Cybersecurity Manager and/or Director of Information Technology Services, the Cybersecurity Intern will fulfill a variety of valuable functions. These include identifying and tracking Cybersecurity issues and incidents, gathering relevant data for troubleshooting and problem solving, interacting with Union City staff, working with cybersecurity applications and tools, monitoring systems for security events and alarms, preparing assessment and reports, and other duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (illustrative only):

• Monitor cybersecurity tools to identify security events.
• Help analyze cybersecurity alarms and incidents.
• Assist with email security operations.
• Assist with vulnerability management activities.
• Draft and review cybersecurity policy documents.
• Help with cybersecurity Awareness and Training activities.
• Assist with compliance reporting.
• Create and update Excel spreadsheets for analysis.
• Manage Microsoft OneNote and SharePoint folders and content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides information and referral services to residents within assigned site(s), including securing full range of social services as needed by individual residents.
• Maintains accurate and timely electronic documentation on all resident demographics, issues, requests, statistics, incidents, interactions and outcomes.
• Establishes constructive relationships with residents, community agencies, property management and related staff.
• Educates residents on service availability, benefits and other application procedures, tenant rights, tools for healthy living and lease compliance.
• Publishes building activities and events through flyers, newsletters and a monthly calendar.
• Leads a wide range of activities designed to build community and provide residents with opportunities for socialization, wellness, education and volunteering.
• Other duties as assigned by the management team.

The Position

The Police Public Service Assistant (PSA) III is assigned to the Police Department’s Crime Lab and provides support to the Forensic Specialists and Crime Scene Investigators during operations in the Crime Lab. The Police Public Service Assistant III position requires excellent customer service and communication skills.

Examples of job duties include:

• Ordering and purchasing supplies.
• Re-supply evidence packaging area and appropriate lab areas.
• Clerical tasks, to include typing, running stats, electronic filing tasks, etc.
• Pick up and return evidence as needed.
• Pick up and deliver equipment and supplies.
• Arrange logistical operations within the lab and evidence packaging area including but not limited to arranging chemical waste and sharps removal, filter replacement, etc.
• Minor maintenance on office or lab equipment as required.
• Assist in assembling print kits for evidence collection.
• Identify and communicate with police, and outside vendors to complete job duties.
• Escorts outside vendors while they conduct business on the police campus.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Position

The Public Service Assistant (PSA) II is assigned to the Police Department’s Red-Light Camera Unit. Under direct supervision of the Traffic Enforcement Project Specialist, the Public Service Assistant II will perform administrative tasks in support of the Police Department’s Red-Light Camera Unit. This position is a temporary/part-time appointment and may work up to 20 hours a week.

Examples of job duties include:

• Order and prepare court packets of red-light violation from Red Flex for review by court commissioner and defendants.
• Research and understand several sections of the vehicle, government and evidence code as it pertains to red light violations.
• Prepare trial by written declaration packets.
• Research and print out DMV information, including photos and convictions for case files.
• Assist with conducting enforcement sign and equipment verifications.
• Assist with verifying yellow light timing with city Traffic Engineers.
• Assist with review and maintenance of court evidence binders.
• Uploading case file evidence.
• Research statistical studies and assist in report preparation.
• Order office supplies and maintain a functional and organized workspace.
• Retrieve, sort and distribute incoming mail.
• Answer phone and return phone and email messages.
• Other duties as assigned
