Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District is comprised of over 63,000 acres of land and 26 open space preserves protected for public enjoyment. In 2014, with broad public support, the District secured $300 million dollars of bond capacity with the passing of Measure AA, a mandate for Midpen to continue to pursue our mission to acquire and preserve open space land and protect and restore the natural environment in a regional green-belt system near Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Open Space District Seasonal Ranger is a challenging position offering a wide variety of responsibilities and opportunities to exercise independent judgment while working on District preserves. Rangers patrol on foot, in all terrain vehicles, and in four wheel drive patrol trucks. Rangers ensure safe public use of preserves and provide visitors information while enforcing District land use regulations and applicable laws. Rangers also respond to emergency calls and perform maintenance and resource management work on District properties and facilities.
