The Department of Public Works Technology Services Section is recruiting to fill multiple Geographic Systems Specialist I/II (GSS I/II) positions on the Enterprise GIS Team. These are data-focused positions that will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and ensuring the integrity of enterprise GIS datasets as well as providing ongoing support for Enterprise GIS activities and development of technology solutions that maximize the delivery of City products and services. The individuals selected for these positions will work primarily in the production group of the Enterprise GIS Team.
Under general supervision, performs physical on-site observation, inspection, and documentation of public works and public right of way construction projects to ensure safety and compliance with codes and regulations, specifications and plans, and public policy and program requirements. Investigates and responds to complaints and enforces municipal code provisions.
The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Permit Center Manager to oversee Permit Center operations. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise in the building codes, have strong organizational and administrative skills, be solutions oriented, will provide direct lead to four full-time staff members and develop collaborative relationships with staff throughout the City.

ABOUT THE POSITION
As part of Engineering Services Division, the Survey Section of the Public Works Department, City of San José is responsible for delivering land surveying services on a variety of City projects including street widening/improvements, storm and sanitary facilities, library/community center/fire station sites, and airfield projects. These land surveying services include, but are not limited to the following: topography, property acquisition, construction staking, pavement marking layout, and monument preservation.
