The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations. The work also involves interdepartmental cooperation with various public safety agencies located throughout the County to coordinate the most effective response to requests for assistance from the public.

The City of Sunnyvale is looking for an Applications Analyst II to join the Information Technology Department (ITD) who is service-oriented and has a passion for meaningful work with enterprise applications (e.g. ERP, EDMS, GIS). The team focuses on strong customer service business-to-technical skills and experience in configuring and maintaining applications for department use and using problem-solving skills to provide the best solutions.

The IT Department manages the enterprise GIS and this position will focus on creation-of and support-of GIS based applications for various City functions along with system configuration and user support of other applications.  Under direction of a Principal Applications Analyst, or Information Technology Manager within the Applications and Analytics Division, performs technical and analytical work in the design, creation, maintenance, and utilization of enterprise applications.

-Receiving, answering, and processing 911 emergency and non emergency calls; Using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to create calls for service; Assigning priorities and type codes both to incoming calls and to the dispatch of calls for service; Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and multitask; Ability to interpret information from hysterical, incoherent, angry, and upset callers;-Create crime and informational reports.

The Police Radio Dispatcher Trainee position is an entry level training position in the Communications Unit of the Police Department. The key responsibilities for Police Radio Dispatcher Trainee include:

About the Position

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Sheriff’s Records Clerk within the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department. Under general supervision, provide difficult, technical, complex or specialized work relating to Sheriff’s department records and associated automated information systems; and perform related work as assigned.  This position is often the first point of contact for the Sheriff’s Department. This is an advanced journey level in the clerical series. This position reports directly to the Sheriff’s Records and Communications Supervisor.

This position will perform a variety of responsible law enforcement and crime prevention work, including patrolling assigned areas, answering calls and complaints, investigating crimes, serving civil papers, and providing court room security; enforce all federal and state laws and local ordinances related to public safety and welfare.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Performs routine patrol duties, including but not limited to patrolling assigned areas of the County; responding to emergency calls and/or public calls for assistance; investigating disturbances, prowlers, burglaries, thefts, vehicle accidents and other crimes; checking buildings for physical security, etc.

The San José Fire Department is looking to fill a Senior Geographic Systems Specialist position within the BAS/Fire IT division. This role will manage mapping projects and, when applicable, application development activities to support the mapping function. Under the direction of the Department Information Technology Manager, the key duties and responsibilities of this position include:
 

• Oversee GIS data management efforts, including Fire-specific layers, ensuring the quality and timely input of the data. This involves performing quality control and quality assurance (QC/QA) and assisting with hands-on data management to minimize backlogs.
