The San José Fire Department is looking to fill a Senior Geographic Systems Specialist position within the BAS/Fire IT division. This role will manage mapping projects and, when applicable, application development activities to support the mapping function. Under the direction of the Department Information Technology Manager, the key duties and responsibilities of this position include:
 

• Oversee GIS data management efforts, including Fire-specific layers, ensuring the quality and timely input of the data. This involves performing quality control and quality assurance (QC/QA) and assisting with hands-on data management to minimize backlogs.
• Coordinate with various departments and the Enterprise GIS team on Fire data conversion and consolidation efforts, contributing to the Enterprise GIS data repository.
• Provide geodatabase development and programming (SQL Server), with the ability to understand complex database concepts, interfaces, and the implications of different database designs.
• Assist in the development and management of GIS project plans, including defining requirements, setting tasks and resource assignments, and ensuring standards, deadlines, and quality standards are met.
• Ensure City staff using GIS receive necessary training and technical support.
• Hire and manage GIS teams, including GIS I/II specialists, cartographers, data managers, analysts, and vendors, to meet GIS project objectives and timelines. Build team capacity to provide GIS project support, training, map production, and analysis services in addition to data management.
• Perform analytical analysis with large datasets.
• Prepare and perform data modeling and create entity-relationship diagrams.

The Principal Accountant will be responsible for leadership and oversight of fiscal management functions for San José Clean Energy (SJCE). The incumbent in this position will lead the Department's fiscal/accounting team and oversee all fiscal management activities for SJCE, including but not limited to the following:

• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and business processes to comply with generally accepted accounting principles and satisfy the financial management requirements associated with long-term power purchase agreements;
• Lead the development of SJCE standalone audited basic financial statements and SJCE financial statements in the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report;
• Prepare quarterly financial statements (unaudited);
• Facilitate external auditor inquiries for standalone financials, City Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and Agreed-Upon Procedure engagements;
• Lead the preparation of quarterly financial statements (unaudited);
• Analyze the impact of GASB pronouncements on SJCE's financial statements and develop accounting practices to satisfy GASB pronouncements;

Accounting Technician II 

$24.93 - $31.91 Hourly 

Full-Time

The Accounting Technician II is an advanced journey-level class responsible for the City's payroll processing, distribution, and required reporting, including records maintenance, management, and the preparation of payroll reports in accordance with union agreements and City, state, and federal rules and regulations.  Incumbents exercise considerable judgment in decision-making in day-to-day payroll operations.  Responsible for a full range of financial record-keeping transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility billing, collection, and taxation.  Incumbents may be assigned various accounting-related responsibilities and are expected to perform more detailed non-professional accounting duties.  

Accounting Technician II is under general supervision, plans, organizes, and reviews the work of the Finance Department payroll and accounting section; performs the full array of para-professional accounting duties involved in the processing of payroll and the maintenance of the payroll system; reviews and reconciles payroll reports and prepares journal entries; provide information to departments and employees regarding payroll issues; performs point-of-capture data entry related to cash receipts and accounts payable transactions; prepares, processes and verifies bookkeeping entries affecting general and subsidiary ledgers; performs customer service functions with the public and/or accounts payable vendors both in person and over the phone performs other related duties as required.

The City of Lincoln is hiring for the position of Maintenance Worker I/II within the Streets Division of the Public Works Department.  Under general supervision, this position performs the full array of duties assigned to classes in the Maintenance Worker series including maintenance, construction and equipment operation work in one or more Public Works divisions; occasionally assists in the training of lower-level Maintenance Workers; and performs other related duties as required.

Maintenance Worker I

The Maintenance Worker I is the entry level class responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and construction tasks. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

The Maintenance Worker I receives general supervision from a Public Works Supervisor.  Incumbents of this class do not routinely exercise supervision.  The Maintenance Worker II receives general supervision from a Public Works Supervisor. May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned staff. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include but are not limited to the following:

• Performs maintenance, repair, construction, equipment operation and installation work in streets, water, sewers, refuse collection, parks and buildings.
• Streets: Breaks, removes, crack seals, hydropatches, and repairs surfaces; digs, shovels, hauls, loads and unloads materials; operates jack hammers, tampers, pavement breakers and other hand and power tools; rolls and irons asphalt; operates trucks, backhoes, rollers, pavers, street sweepers and other construction vehicles and equipment; assists in the installation and maintenance of City signs, road markings, striping and delineators; paints street lines and crosswalks; performs concrete sidewalk, curb, gutter and ramp installation and repair; installs, maintains and repairs street lights; installs shoring and trench plates; monitors underground service alert (USA’s) and marks when necessary; conducts street leaf pickup; mows roadsides.

• Parks and Buildings: Maintains lawns, shrubs, and trees; assists in spraying of herbicides and pesticides; cuts, sprays and removes weeds; clears brush and debris; assists with planting and maintenance of landscaped areas; installs, maintains, repairs and programs irrigation systems; cleans and maintains parks and city buildings; assists in the performance of minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and remodeling tasks.
• Solid Waste: Operates a variety of collection vehicles and equipment including front, rear and side loaders in the collection and transportation of residential and commercial refuse; drives to landfill site when vehicle is full and unloads material; evaluates and updates assigned routes; cleans, maintains and inspects assigned vehicles; maintains daily logs.
• Fills out reports and work orders; climbs or uses hydraulic aerial devices to top, trim, reshape, strip, treat and remove trees; operates airport fueling vehicles; responds to after-hours call-outs if assigned.
• Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; may provide training to lower-level staff; responds to questions and concerns from the general public; provides information as is appropriate and resolves public service complaints.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, pesticides or herbicides which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, operate hydraulic aerial devices, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

About Zookeeper Full Time/Part Time: The position performs work involving the care and feeding of zoo, domestic farm, and/or non-domestic animals and maintenance of enclosures, grounds and service areas; working with animals under all types of climatic conditions to prepare them for presentations, training, capture and restraint, basic husbandry, and behavioral enrichment. The Maintenance Worker I will support the basic preventative maintenance of the air conditioning work group. This position reports directly to the Air Conditioning Supervisor for various daily assignments. Working under immediate supervision and working with HVAC Staff and/or independently in mechanical rooms and on rooftops would be a regular occurrence.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Performs preventive maintenance functions on Exhaust Fans, HVAC Package units and Air Handlers.
• Clean HVAC Cooling Towers and Mechanical Rooms.
• Install V-belts on HVAC Equipment.
• Uses general carpentry, mechanical and hand tools such as power saws, hand saws, drills, pliers, wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, ladders and other tools and equipment.
• Installs air filters in various types of air conditioning equipment.
• Cleans aluminum finned condenser and evaporator coils.

Two (2) year of increasing responsible experience in the delivery of recreation services. A Bachelor’s Degree may be substituted for one year of experience.

License or Certificates:

When only assigned to recreation duties, the following is required and must be maintained during the course of employment.

• Required upon hire:
  •  Valid California Driver’s license,
• Required within six months of hire,
  • Possession and maintenance of a current American Red Cross First Aid Certificate or equivalent and
  • Current American Red Cross Community CPR Certificate or equivalent
