The Yuba County Probation Department is seeking to fill a full-time Correctional Technician position at its Youth Detention Facilities. Working under general supervision, the Correctional Technician is responsible for monitoring video and audio systems to maintain the safety and security of both youths and staff within the secure detention areas. Additional responsibilities include performing various technical and clerical tasks related to the intake and release process for juveniles at the Tri-County Juvenile Hall and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center, inputting relevant data into the booking system, documenting observations of juveniles, providing public reception and assistance, and other related duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Essential:

• Process paperwork provided by law enforcement officer or the courts for new inmates or youth; verify information on booking forms; obtain signatures; oversee telephone usage; obtain photographs; inventory and securely process property and money for safekeeping.
• Gather and enter inmate or youth information into computerized booking system; prepare and route computer-generated booking; complete files, logs, charts and other documents associated with jail or juvenile detention facility booking activities.
• Participate in monitoring safety and security of the staff, inmates, juveniles, visitors and facility; notify appropriate staff of any incidents, problems, or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and assess the behavior of inmates or youth from a control room; monitor radio communications; and operate intercom and electronic door controls in routine and emergency conditions.
• Process court paperwork, process discharge paperwork, and enter data into computer system.
• Update manual and automated inmate or youth records and tracking systems.
• Monitor inmates or youth on exercise yard from a controlled area; monitor and document inmates’ or youths’ recreational activities.
• Process and monitor visitors, ascertains nature of business, assist and/or direct visitors to appropriate person, observe visitation, report security violations.

The City of Auburn is seeking a dedicated and proactive law enforcement professional to serve as the Chief of Police.

This position will lead our dedicated department and be instrumental in guiding our department through today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. The City has 85 full-time employees serving 14,000 residents. The APD is a team of 24 sworn officers and 11 professional staff providing patrol, investigations, 911 dispatch and other law enforcement services. The department has an annual operating budget of roughly $6 million.

What You Will Do

The Chief of Police is responsible for the planning, administration and operation of the APD under general administrative direction. Upon hire, the incumbent can expect to work closely with the City Manager, City Council, Placer County and community leaders to further learn, understand and address community public safety issues.

APD utilizes the Community-Oriented Policing philosophy and the Problem-Oriented Policing strategy to better serve the community. This includes serving with the Community Advisory Council and Community Action Team to connect with those who live, work and play in Auburn. The APD team works closely with the Placer County Probation and Health and Human Services departments, along with other groups within our community, to address those in the community experiencing homelessness.

Under general supervision, the Lead Intelligence Analyst will play a key role in guiding and overseeing a team of Intelligence Analysts. The Lead Analyst will assist in developing and implementing program and administrative goals and ensure compliance with department policies and procedures; and perform a variety of professional Intelligence Analyst duties including performing intelligence analysis; producing threat assessments and vulnerability assessments, strategic reports, and tactical, operational and analytical products; data entry; researching and documenting incident reports; conducting presentations to law enforcement partners; producing link chart products; providing case support relating to investigations of terrorism, drug trafficking, firearm trafficking, major crimes, money laundering, gangs, violent crimes, and serial crime events; and providing support during emergency events, planned special events, training events, and training exercises.

About The Agency

The Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) and Northern California High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (NC HIDTA) is seeking a Lead Intelligence Analyst. The NCRIC/NCHIDTA fusion center is located at the Phillip Burton Federal Building, 450 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco, CA. Most Lead Intelligence Analyst positions are in San Francisco. Positions may become available at off-site locations within the area of responsibility. The hours of service are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Personnel assigned to the position may work 4 days a week with 10-hour days.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated professional who:

• Possesses basic supervisory principles and practices, basic principles and practices of employee training and development and the dynamics of goal setting and goal achievement.
• Takes initiative on projects, provides leadership, and promotes teamwork.
• Coordinates individual and group efforts and is also capable of working well with the public, including the capability to make comprehensive oral presentations.
• Uses an analytical thought process and can analyze a variety of criminal information received from various sources and formulate theories regarding criminal trends, patterns and perpetrators, and evaluate criminal intelligence information to develop criteria to measure the reliability of such information.
• Works independently and in a team setting.
• Has the ability to prepare complex and detailed written reports and can communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Is knowledgeable in the methods and techniques used in researching, collecting, compiling, sorting, evaluating, and analyzing intelligence, and crime information.
• Is knowledgeable in the development and processing of the intelligence cycle.
• Has a strong computer background including a proficiency in all of Microsoft Office Suite software applications, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping and statistical analysis and database applications.

It is highly desirable that applicants possess three (3) years of experience working in the crime analysis and/or intelligence fields and have completed at least one of the programs listed below:

• Naval Postgraduate School & US DHS Center for Homeland Defense and Security
• Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Certification
• International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Associate or Certified Emergency Manager Certification

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Education equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis, Information Management, Criminal Justice or a related field; and

Three (3) years of experience involving crime data collection, statistical research and analysis, and working with criminal intelligence automated systems design and implementation.

Licensure/Certification: Possession of or acquisition of a valid certification in Crime and Intelligence Analysis within twelve (12) months of appointment or other training certification that demonstrates qualifications that meet or exceed competencies identified in the Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative, Law Enforcement Analytic Standards Booklet, 2nd Edition: Law Enforcement Analytic Standards (ojp.gov) , and the Common Competencies of Intelligence Analysts, 1st Edition: Common Competencies for State, Local, and Tribal Intelligence Analysts (ojp.gov)

Other Requirements: Must successfully complete a thorough law enforcement background investigation/security clearance prior to appointment and obtain a National Security Clearance within the first eighteen (18) months of employment. The law enforcement background investigation and the National Security Clearance require successful completion of a polygraph examination.

THE POSITION

Under supervision of the Utilities Superintendent, the Water Treatment/Distribution System Operator will be responsible for a variety of operational and general maintenance tasks on the City’s water treatment and distribution systems. The position will entail the proper operation of each of the City’s well sites, laying and fitting pipelines, installing, reading, repairing water meters, maintaining records of water infrastructure, and other duties as required and assigned.

Water Treatment/Distribution System Operator I
The Water Distribution/Treatment System Operator I is an entry level class responsible for a variety of operations and maintenance of the water distribution and treatment system, and incumbents are expected to perform the full scope of assigned duties. This classification is alternatively staffed with a Treatment/Distribution System Operator II and incumbents may advance to a higher level after gaining experience, obtaining required certification’s and demonstrating a level of proficiency that meets the qualifications of the higher-level class.

Salary: $4,017.05 - $4,882.75 Monthly

Water Treatment/Distribution System Operator II
The Water Treatment/Distribution System Operator II is the journey level class expected to perform the full range of water system activities and related support duties with minimum supervision. Incumbent is responsible for the performance of the division’s complex and difficult assignments and may provide training to entry level staff. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Water Distribution/Treatment System Operator in that the latter is responsible for division supervision and performance of the divisions most complex tasks. 

Salary: $4,571.77 - $5,557.03

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II is the advanced journey level class responsible for the full range of treatment plant responsibilities and for the performance of the most complex and difficult assignments within the series. Incumbents in this classification provide training to less experienced staff. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Public Works Supervisor in that latter is responsible for the overall operation and supervision of the wastewater treatment program.

Salary: $4,571.77 - $5,557.03 Monthly
