The City of Sunnyvale is recruiting for the position of Fire Protection Engineer II. The primary role of the Fire Protection Engineer II is to review plans and specifications of buildings, fire protection equipment, and industrial and hazardous materials processes to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal fire protection codes and ordinances, as well as perform field inspections.
The quick ability to resolve technical problems in the field is a key component. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, is a resourceful and innovative problem solver, and seeks continuous improvement. Candidates with supervisory experience in the electrical field are encouraged to apply.
Under general direction, the Planning Manager performs a variety of management and complex planning functions which includes, but is not limited to, supervision of the Planning Division staff; management of complex land use projects and plans and related tasks; presentations before the City Council, Planning Commission and other City commissions, committees and community groups; serving as a member of the City’s Management Team and performing related tasks as required.
The City delivers basic Administrative, Public Works Maintenance, Development, Engineering, Recreation and Public Safety services. The City also provides domestic water service to a portion of the City, sewer service throughout the City, and transit services as enterprise operations. The City has a full time workforce of 120 employees and a General Fund Budget of approximately $20 Million. Home prices remain affordable compared to many areas of the state. The public education system is well regarded and is served by the Dixon Joint Unified School District.
