This internship provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic college level student seeking broad experience within a dynamic city planning division. The Planning & Housing Division of the Community Development Department administers City Council policies contained in the general plan, zoning ordinance, and other plans and ordinances.
Under general direction of the Rent Stabilization Administrator and working closely with the Community and Economic Development Director, responsible for the planning and direction of all assigned staff and activities associated with the management and operations of the City’s Housing Programs, including rent stabilization activities, affordable housing, anti-displacement initiatives, and compliance with all City regulations.

The Palo Alto Communications Center is seeking highly motivated, positive, and people-oriented candidates for part-time per diem Public Safety Dispatcher positions. Shift coverage is needed on day, swing, and overnight shifts. This position is only open to candidates with one or more year(s) of experience as a Public Safety Dispatcher in California in the previous five (5) years. Per Diem Public Safety Dispatchers must commit to working a minimum of one (1) shift per month.
The City of East Palo Alto provides responsive, respectful and efficient public service to enhance the quality of life and safety for its multi-cultural community. East Palo Alto has significant potential for growth due to its central location, recently updated General Plan, and the securing of additional water supplies. Construction just started on a 25,000 square performing arts center. The City is currently processing entitlements for approximately 1.4 million square feet of office projects, a 500 student elementary school, and approximately 200 affordable rental housing units.
