SCCHA’s Real Estate Development Division is a mission oriented, dynamic, and collaborative team, working closely together to creatively develop new affordable housing as well as preserve existing assets in service of the tenants and communities we serve.  By embedding the innovative spirit of the Silicon Valley into our agency’s culture, we are elevating our efforts to address the affordable housing shortage in Santa Clara County.  To ensure equity and justice, we prioritize housing developments for extremely low-income individuals and families that embrace residents’ lived experiences.  Our resident-centered approach leverages our real estate capacity, talented staff, and community partnerships. 

We are looking for a dynamic individual who will be a part of the real estate department and help us to develop a pipeline of over 20 projects and over 1200 units of affordable housing.  We are looking for an individual that will oversee and manage a team of project managers with projects ranging from new construction multi-family housing, renovation and rehabilitation of existing structures, repurposing of commercial properties for affordable housing, and master planning of large transit-oriented sites.

What Our Team Is Looking For:

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include: 

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in community development, business, economics, urban planning, or a related field; and
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in residential property development, acquisition, and/or rehabilitation, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) from applications and financing through conversion, to permanent financing, including two (2) years of experience supervising and managing affordable housing and development programs, budgets, activities and staff.

The Engineering Group Manager – Facilities will oversee a diverse and talented team responsible for managing the planning, design, and construction of capital projects at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). This individual will lead the delivery of high-impact projects ranging from transit infrastructure upgrades to the improvement and rehabilitation of maintenance yards and other critical facilities. The role includes overseeing staff, consultants, and stakeholders in the successful execution of these projects, while also ensuring compliance with VTA’s overall objectives and community needs.

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Housing Specialist I to join the Housing Division in the Community Development Department. Under direction of the Housing Officer, the Housing Specialist I will play a key role in the planning and development of new affordable housing, creating new housing programs, implementing the Housing Element, applying for grants/funding to support affordable housing, and monitoring housing legislation. The Housing Specialist I will perform technical and professional level planning and community development work, with an emphasis on creation and implementation of affordable housing programs. This position will closely collaborate with affordable housing developers, various housing advocacy groups, local non-profits, and the community. The ideal candidate will be a passionate affordable housing professional who is a motivated self-starter able to work independently, while also being a team player who can communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, consultants, and decision-makers. Housing Programs Specialist II

This position will serve as the primary contact for all applicants applying for housing assistance programs and the administration of rental assistance programs. The incumbent will perform technical and programmatic aspects, requiring the interpretation and application of regulations, policies, and procedures to determine the eligibility of program services, ensuring accurate processing of data, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include:
• An associate degree with coursework in liberal arts, humanities, social work, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of responsible experience providing direct client services including caseload management functions with an assisted housing or other social services program and customer service.
• A bachelor’s degree is desirable.
• Bilingual skills are desired, but not required.

Reporting to the Building Official, this specialized classification performs the full range of duties related to building inspection and code compliance activities required to ensure compliance with the City’s Municipal Code as well as the full range of routine to complex inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings; investigates citizen complaints of public nuisances and quality of life issues and seeks voluntary compliance or issues citations and initiates abatement procedures; performs inspections at various stages of construction, alteration, and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial building sites to enforce building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and environmental codes, and other governing laws and ordinances, including basic zoning, grading, fire, and safety regulations; reviews applications and conducts inspections on a wide range of business licenses and special events permits such as those for massage establishments, special events, and noise exemptions; and performs related work as required.

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking an Asset Manager to provide professional, technical and administrative asset management duties in support of a portfolio of Agency owned assets. The Asset Manager ensures compliance with programmatic and financial regulations, oversees property operations, and works with property management to ensure the physical, financial and social well-being of affordable housing assets.  The Asset Management Division, along with the Real Estate Development Division, are part of SCCHA’s Real Estate Department.  The team working in Real Estate is mission oriented, dynamic and collaborative. The team works closely together to creatively develop new affordable housing as well as preserve existing assets.

This position requires extensive knowledge of property maintenance, construction project management, capital planning and systems management, budget preparation and financial modeling to analyze portfolio performance.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is actively seeking two (2) full-time Community Engagement Coordinators (CEC) to join the City Administration Department and the Gilroy Police Department. In this dynamic role, the CECs will collaborate with the Administration and Police Department teams to enhance the City's public relations, drive community outreach initiatives, and effectively disseminate information to support the City's operations, services, and policies and procedures. This presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the city's communication and community engagement efforts.

 Under the supervision of the assigned manager, the Community Engagement Coordinator for the City of Gilroy plays a key role in improving various programs. As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

Minimum Qualifications

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education Requirements: 

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED

 

Minimum Experience Requirements: 

• The equivalent of two (2) years of paid employment experience in public safety dispatching within the past five (5) years of which at least one (1) year included solo status; or
• Five (5) years of current paid employment with a public safety agency or private emergency medical services agency, with high level Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), radio and/or telephone operation; or
• Successful completion of probationary period as a Public Safety Dispatcher I with the City of Santa Clara.

 

License/Certifications: 

Possession of a current P.O.S.T. Basic Dispatch certificate is required.

 

Other Requirements:  

• Incumbents must have the ability to work, as assigned, on schedules that may include Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and non-traditional work hours.
• Must be able to perform all the essential functions of the job assignment.  All candidates will be required to pass a City background investigation, which will include fingerprinting and/or psychological testing.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general supervision of a Senior Public Safety Dispatcher or Watch Commander and the overall direction of the Communications Operations Manager.

 

The City of Sunnyvale invites applications for Public Safety Dispatcher in Training. Under supervision and in a trainee capacity, processes emergency and non-emergency calls for service; dispatches police, fire, medical, rescue, animal control or other emergency equipment, by telephone or radio, utilizing complex technical aids, such as computer aided dispatch systems (CAD); and performs other related duties as assigned.

Public Safety Dispatcher-In-Training is the entry and trainee level in the public safety dispatcher series. Under close supervision, incumbents are trained in dispatching techniques, equipment, and protocols. Work assignments change frequently to facilitate training. Employees are subject to daily and weekly observation reports until they demonstrate the ability to perform independently. This is an alternately staffed classification. Public Safety Dispatcher-In-Training incumbents are required to achieve the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to advance to the Public Safety Dispatcher level within the twelve-month probationary period.
