Position & Duties - Police Communication Specialist
The Police Communication Specialist position is an entry level training position in the Communications Unit for the Police Department. Police Communication Specialists are required to handle the full range of telephone answering and dispatch functions. The key responsibilities for a Police Communication Specialist include:

-Receiving, answering, and processing 911 emergency and non emergency calls; Using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to create calls for service; Assigning priorities and type codes both to incoming calls and to the dispatch of calls for service; Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and multitask; Ability to interpret information from hysterical, incoherent, angry, and upset callers;-Create crime and informational reports.

These positions may require assignments to a Swing, Graveyard, or other non-standard shift; most work four 10-hour shifts followed by three days off. There is a shift differential payment of $2.25/hour for Swing Shift and $2.50/hour for Graveyard Shift.

Position & Duties - Police Radio Dispatcher Trainee

The Police Radio Dispatcher Trainee position is an entry level training position in the Communications Unit of the Police Department. The key responsibilities for Police Radio Dispatcher Trainee include:

These amounts include an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay.

Attracting Investment in Jobs and Housing. Catalyze the City's growth to encourage a strong economy, robust housing, healthy neighborhoods, and vibrant downtown. Key programs include planning and permitting, development services, business outreach and assistance, and business district management.

City Manager Foundational Strategic Support Focus Areas

Delivering Excellent Customer Service. Ensure reliable, empathetic, and solutions-oriented customer service to meet the needs and expectations of customers as they access and navigate City services. Key programs include citywide Customer Relationship Management system implementation, customer service network, and mandatory customer service training.

Closing Racial Inequities. Implement policies and programs to eliminate racial disparities and foster an inclusive, equitable community for all people to thrive. Key programs include budgeting for equity, racial equity action plans, and mandatory racial equity training.

Structurally Balancing the General Fund. Ensure long-term financial stability by aligning revenues and expenditures to sustainably balance the City's budget on an ongoing basis consistent with City Council and community priorities.

Driving Organizational Performance. Deliver equitable community outcomes, effective program performance, and efficient operations through continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability. Key programs include City Service Area performance updates, Focus Area dashboards, and community indicator disaggregation.

The annual salary range for this position is up to $342,687. In addition to the abovementioned compensation, this position receives an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. The final candidate's qualifications and experience will determine the actual salary.

The position of Deputy City Manager serves as a key advisor to the City Manager regarding matters related to the administration of the City and assists in the formulation and execution of complex policies and programs to fulfill the goals and objectives of the organization. The position will be responsible for a portfolio of departments related to one or more City Service Areas to assist the City Manager in coordinating, engaging, and monitoring departments, carrying out City Council policy direction, and ensuring service delivery goals. The Environmental Services Department is recruiting to fill one (1) gardener positions. Under direct supervision of the Senior Maintenance Worker are responsible for performing various gardening and grounds keeping duties in the Regional Wastewater Facility, surrounding Bufferlands, and supporting remote pump stations. Candidate must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays and/or other shifts as needed.

Duties of the Gardener position include, but are not limited to:
 

• Inspecting shrubs, trees, and various landscaped areas for insect/disease problems and fertilization requirements and applying fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, and other chemicals as needed.
• Planting, cultivating, irrigating and transplanting required for turf, plants, shrubs, and trees.
• Operating and maintaining cleanliness, security and safety of a broad range of equipment such as tractors with attachments, various types of trucks, backpack blowers, turf sweepers, lawn rollers, aerators, dethatches, mowers, power edgers, sprayers, rototillers, power augers, power sod cutters, power brush cutters, fertilizer spreaders, and other equipment and hand tools used in grounds maintenance.

The City of San José - San José Mineta International Airport is currently recruiting for Senior Airport Operations Specialist for the Airport Operations Division. Typical duties and responsibilities include the following:

Airside Operations:

• Respond to emergencies, distressed or disabled aircraft, hazardous materials spills, wildlife or other airfield accidents or incidents

• May perform airfield inspections and other operations duties in support of airside.

• Coordinates cleanup efforts, prepares detailed informational and operational reports related to safety/security incidents, injuries and accidents.

• Use vehicle to patrol the airfield to inspect and observe aircraft, tenants, perimeter fences, gates to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and act to correct deficiencies.

Terminal Management / Customer Service:

• Coordinate common use resources (gates, remote parking, ticket counters, bag belts) to maintain safe, efficient day to day operations.

Airport Operations Center:

The Senior Airport Operations Specialists will also be expected to manage multiple phone lines and radio channels to coordinate airport activities within the AOC and perform a variety of general clerical duties such as: filing, preparation of records, forms, and other pertinent documents.

Other duties the Senior Airport Operations Specialist may be assigned include but are not limited to; compiles data, prepares reports, completes necessary and required forms and oversees recordkeeping to provide top-notch customer service to business stakeholders and the traveling public. The City of Saratoga is currently recruiting to fill a full-time Accounting Technician position within the Administrative Services Department. The incumbent will report to the Finance Manager.

The Accounting Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative account support duties associated with preparing, maintaining, and processing accounts receivable and accounts payable records and transactions. About the Highway Program Deputy Director

The Highway Program Deputy Director, reporting to the Chief of Engineering and Program Delivery, manages a diverse and talented team of seasoned staff who is well-versed on the delivery of capital projects related to the State highway system and other roadways in the county. This position is responsible for directing and leading collaboration on planning, design development (including technical analysis in support of preliminary engineering and final design), project-related right-of-way activities (in coordination with VTA Real Estate), construction management and close out, overall program/project management (including scopes, costs, schedules and quality of work), management of staff resources (both VTA and consultant), coordination with project stakeholders within VTA and beyond (e.g., local agencies, Caltrans, federal agencies, resources agencies, utilities, etc.), and community and other outreach (working with VTA public information and government affairs staff).
