Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit is seeking a customer focused, self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented person to join our staff as an Administrative Assistant. 

This position will be assigned to the Front Desk Reception at the SMART Administrative Office located in Petaluma. The Administrative Assistant will provide clerical and administrative support to division management and provide customer service to the public, including Clipper sales. This position provides information to the public via the phone and in person regarding SMART's fares, services and schedules. Candidates should have knowledge of standard office practices and procedures including filing and retrieval systems, correspondence formats and the operation of standard office equipment. Knowledge of computer operation and standard office software packages required. Must have the ability to produce a variety of material to include graphs, charts, reports and standardized forms.

Under general supervision, the position will perform administrative and/or technical functions and provide office assistance in support of administrative and business functions; performs related work as assigned. While the primary work is administrative in nature, positions in this class apply knowledge of District policies and procedures to the work of the assigned department. Incumbents assist the professional level staff with assignments and projects in support of the overall goals and activities of the department.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hours are Monday - Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting to establish an employment list for Correctional Officer positions, which will be utilized to provide staffing in the Yuba County Jail. Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. THE POSITION
The Sheriff’s Correctional Deputy position at the Glenn County Sheriff’s Department performs a variety of work in the monitoring of county, state and federal detainees; to maintain the security and safety of inmates and staff. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week on a rotating 24-hr shift. This recruitment may be used to establish a list to fill future vacancies for the next six (6) months.

THE POSITION:

Under direct supervision, the Police Officer Trainee attends a Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) approved Police Basic Recruit Academy and successfully completes the academic and physical training required for appointment to the classification of Police Officer Recruit II.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Participate in a P.O.S.T certified police academy designed to provide an overview of the criminal justice system including knowledge of laws, police procedures, law enforcement techniques, first aid and physical fitness.
• Receives training to develop an awareness of Police Department functions, as well as the responsibilities of Police Officers and how those responsibilities relate to field operations.
• Receives academy and field training to become a Police Officer.
• Learns proper handling and firing of firearms, report writing and emergency vehicle operation. 
• Develops an understanding and working knowledge of the California Penal, Vehicle, Health and Safety Codes. 
• Develops an understanding of proper evidence collection and preservation methods.
   

SMART is the San Francisco Bay Area's newest transit system serving Marin and Sonoma counties. We began revenue service in August 2017 and were the first new railroad in the country to begin service with Positive Train Control installed. We are seeking experienced and motivated individuals who enjoy the challenge of creating new processes and systems. Under direction, the Signal Technician is responsible for maintenance and repair of grade crossing warning devices, signaling and SMART's Positive Train Control system, rail safety communication systems and car borne signal components. This position will perform maintenance on railway signal and communications equipment such as track signals, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, positive train control equipment, fiber optic links, programmable multiplexer servers, stand alone computers, power supplies and associated communications equipment.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Supervising Public Health Nurse II in the Health & Human Services Department. Under general supervision, the incumbent plans, organizes, reviews and evaluates public health nursing activities for the Yuba County Public Health Division; serves in the capacity of the Director of Public Health Nursing pursuant to the California Code of Regulations 17 CCR § 1253; assists in the development and implementation of public health goals, objectives, standards of performance and policies and procedures to meet legal, organizational and public health nursing needs; assigns, supervises and evaluates the work of professional nursing staff; and performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned. SMART is a commuter rail system located in Marin and Sonoma counties in Northern California. We are seeking experienced and motivated individuals who want to make a contribution to their community and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. 

Under general supervision, the Vehicle Maintenance Technician position performs skilled preventative, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, primary and secondary repair and modification to mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and components found on commuter rail diesel multiple unit (DMU) vehicles and supporting systems.

This is a journey level classification performing skilled preventive maintenance, scheduled, unscheduled and emergency repair and modification on all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components for the District's revenue vehicles, including related subsystems and components as required by manufacturer maintenance and servicing manuals, Federal and State regulations for locomotive and passenger car maintenance and inspection and District vehicle maintenance procedures.

Inspects, troubleshoots, adjusts and repairs DMU subsystems.

Per Federal Railroad Administration regulations, performs maintenance tasks as specified and scheduled in SMART's DMU inspection, testing and maintenance plan including: daily passenger car/locomotive brake tests; periodic brake equipment maintenance; periodic carborne signaling tests; and passenger car fire safety and on-board emergency equipment and emergency exits inspection, testing and maintenance.

Assures quality control using SMART's Maintenance Management Information System to maintain proper records and generate reports.

Follow FRA regulations applicable to railroad workers.

This position will be responsible for work activities primarily on the Swing and Grave shifts, weekends, and holidays to ensure safe and efficient transportation to the public.

 Position Details:

• Base hourly wage: $46.79 per hour.

Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is a new commuter rail system located in Marin and Sonoma Counties. We are seeking two full-time Code Compliance Officers to perform specialized inspections and enforcement of ordinances, regulations and laws governing the transit system. This position is non-sworn and unarmed.

Code Compliance Officers hold limited enforcement authority and are responsible for enforcing ordinances and laws approved by the SMART Board of Directors. Considerable judgment is required in meeting emergency situations, enforcing regulations and in coordination with other personnel and agencies. Ordinances are enforced by the issue of citations and arrests are occasionally necessary. This position is required to prepare incident/arrest reports and other forms either written or using a computer. Code Compliance Officers will be required to testify in court when subpoenaed and may work varied shifts.

In performing their duties, Code Compliance Officers will be called upon to assist and provide information to patrons and the public and ensure the safety of passengers on platforms and in parking lots. This position is classified as a Public Officer under the law with powers of arrest. A primary responsibility is to enforce the fare ordinance by performing unannounced random inspection of fares onboard trains and in paid fare zones. The ability to speak, read and write Spanish is highly desirable.

The Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a vehicle maintenance operation in a commuter rail environment. This position will provide hands on supervision of the vehicle maintenance technician staff and will be responsible for work activities primarily on the Swing and Grave shifts, weekends, and holidays to ensure safe and efficient transportation to the public.
