The Event Security Operations Manager (SM3) plays a vital senior role in the management of security, medical response and emergency contingency plans for events occurring on the Stanford campus. The SM3 will provide guidance, negotiate with, influence and support university leaders on matters of safety and security that have a campus-wide impact. THE DEPARTMENT & DIVISION
The Department of Public Works (DPW) is responsible for maintenance activities along approximately 92 miles of public right-of-way. It strives to improve, develop, and maintain public infrastructure essential to the safety, mobility, and quality of life for Orinda citizens. The DPW operates with an approximate annual operating budget of $5 million and has 17 staff members. The Department also administers a CIP budget of approximately $14 million. DPW’s organizational structure consists of two divisions: Engineering Services, and Maintenance & Facilities Services.

The Maintenance & Facilities Division is responsible for the repair and improvement of city-owned public infrastructures including stormwater drainage, roadway, traffic, and pavement, and for coordinating with vendors and contractors on large maintenance and landscaping projects. The Division operates with an approximate annual operating budget of $3.4 million. The Division’s recent reorganization now includes the integration of the maintenance operations of the Parks & Recreation Department, which covers the following buildings and parks:

THE JOB
The Maintenance and Facilities Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that municipal buildings and public facilities are maintained to high standards, remaining safe and functional for employees and the public. The Superintendent will oversee a direct staff of two supervisors, up to eight indirect reports, and the Division’s annual budget. This role involves managing contract and project activities, including multi-year park and landscape maintenance contracts (currently with MCE corporation), multi-year janitorial services, facilities maintenance projects in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and long-term maintenance and repair plans for city-owned buildings, streets, storm drain systems, parks, trees, and landscaping. The Superintendent will coordinate with City departments and external contractors; assess and prepare contract documents; participate in vendor selection; administer contracts and evaluate contractor performance; and review and approve billings. Responsibilities also include programming building maintenance, prioritizing tasks, managing safety trainings, coordinating emergency responses, and ensuring regulatory compliance, including adherence to ADA accessibility regulations. Under the direction of the Director of Public Works, the Superintendent will coordinate activities and operations to allocate resources effectively. They will thoughtfully balance daily operational tasks and long-term strategy, ensuring alignment with community needs and goals.

• As school custodian, may supervise and maintain order among students during recess periods; distributes milk or other refreshments to students; performs minor duties in repairing  chairs, desks and toys.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This position prepares hot and cold food for inmates; supervises and instructs inmates in the preparation and serving of meals to other inmates in a detention facility; receives, stores, and maintains ingredients used for meals; and monitors and maintains security of the kitchen facility, equipment, and inmate workers. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week. 
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Checks menus and number of persons to be fed; instructs inmates in obtaining necessary ingredient for meals and preparing work area; instruct inmates in a variety of chopping, cutting, mixing, grating, and food preparation tasks; instructs inmates on the operation of stoves and other equipment.
• Prepares or supervises the preparation of special meals for inmates with medical problems.
• Supervises inmates in the cleaning of all equipment and kitchen work area; counts and keeps logs on all knives. Assists in keeping current inventory of kitchen and food supplies.
• Receives and checks supplies to ensure that proper amounts and types have been delivered; instructs inmates in transporting supplies to proper areas for storage.

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations.
