The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is the county’s largest provider of affordable housing, helping make rental housing safe and affordable for approximately 20,000 low-income households.

How You Will Make an Impact:

SCCHA’s Real Estate Development Division is a mission oriented, dynamic, and collaborative team, working closely together to creatively develop new affordable housing as well as preserve existing assets in service of the tenants and communities we serve.  By embedding the innovative spirit of the Silicon Valley into our agency’s culture, we are elevating our efforts to address the affordable housing shortage in Santa Clara County.  To ensure equity and justice, we prioritize housing developments for extremely low-income individuals and families that embrace residents’ lived experiences.  Our resident-centered approach leverages our real estate capacity, talented staff, and community partnerships. 

We are looking for a dynamic individual who will be a part of the real estate department and help us to develop a pipeline of over 20 projects and over 1200 units of affordable housing.  We are looking for an individual that will oversee and manage a team of project managers with projects ranging from new construction multi-family housing, renovation and rehabilitation of existing structures, repurposing of commercial properties for affordable housing, and master planning of large transit-oriented sites.

What Our Team Is Looking For:

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include: 

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in community development, business, economics, urban planning, or a related field; and
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in residential property development, acquisition, and/or rehabilitation, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) from applications and financing through conversion, to permanent financing, including two (2) years of experience supervising and managing affordable housing and development programs, budgets, activities and staff.

This position prepares hot and cold food for inmates; supervises and instructs inmates in the preparation and serving of meals to other inmates in a detention facility; receives, stores, and maintains ingredients used for meals; and monitors and maintains security of the kitchen facility, equipment, and inmate workers. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week. 
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Checks menus and number of persons to be fed; instructs inmates in obtaining necessary ingredient for meals and preparing work area; instruct inmates in a variety of chopping, cutting, mixing, grating, and food preparation tasks; instructs inmates on the operation of stoves and other equipment.
• Prepares or supervises the preparation of special meals for inmates with medical problems.
• Supervises inmates in the cleaning of all equipment and kitchen work area; counts and keeps logs on all knives. Assists in keeping current inventory of kitchen and food supplies.
• Receives and checks supplies to ensure that proper amounts and types have been delivered; instructs inmates in transporting supplies to proper areas for storage.
   

The Community  Action Program Specialist determines client’s needs for program services and provides case management and/or crisis intervention in one or more various program areas. The Community Action Program Specialist II is the full journey level class within the series and is   distinguished from the entry level class by the performance of the full range of duties, including the more complex cases. This position is full-time and is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Analyzes clients’ financial and eligibility information to determine initial or continuing eligibility for programs.
• Secures case documentation, records, and/or other information from other agencies as required.
• Interview and evaluates clients for specific program services eligibility and/or employment opportunities, including service needs assessment and crisis intervention, to assist individuals/families in achieving self-sufficiency. 
• Conducts orientation workshops for new and returning participants; explains regulations, rules and policies to clients and apprises them of their rights and responsibilities for program participation.
• Receives and responds to inquiries regarding program services from clients, other agencies, and the general public.

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Housing Specialist I to join the Housing Division in the Community Development Department. Under direction of the Housing Officer, the Housing Specialist I will play a key role in the planning and development of new affordable housing, creating new housing programs, implementing the Housing Element, applying for grants/funding to support affordable housing, and monitoring housing legislation. The Housing Specialist I will perform technical and professional level planning and community development work, with an emphasis on creation and implementation of affordable housing programs. This position will closely collaborate with affordable housing developers, various housing advocacy groups, local non-profits, and the community. The Department

The South San Francisco Public Library is a full-service library committed to delivering quality services to a diverse community.  Library services are available at three sites, including the Main Library (901 Civic Campus Way), the Grand Avenue Library (306 Walnut Avenue) and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (520 Tamarack Lane).  Lifelong literacy services are provided by Project Read at the Main Library and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (GMCLC).  The City currently has one opening in this classification, for a position providing programs and services at the GMCLC.

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda is looking for a team-oriented professional to work as a Housing Specialist II (HS II) in the Housing Program Department. THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael is recruiting for a Program Coordinator in the Recreation Division of our Library and Recreation Department.  This position is responsible for overseeing operations of the Terra Linda Community Pool, including hiring, training, scheduling of temp/seasonal lifeguards, swim instructors, cashiers for approximately 100 employees, for a 9-month pool season.  The Program Coordinator will develop, implement, and oversee programing for the pool and be responsible for developing the pool schedule.  An understanding of safety, customer service, managing relationships with user groups, problem solving, and leadership skills are important for this program area.  Although an aquatics background is preferred, it is not required at time of hire.  The Program Coordinator will also support the Terra Linda Community Center with program development, special events, rentals, customer service, marketing and other tasks as assigned. 

This position performs the following essential job duties (including but not limited to and may vary with assignment):

• Provides direction to and supervises regular, temporary and volunteer staff, including selecting, monitoring, training, scheduling and determining workloads; assists with hiring, disciplinary and evaluation processes.
• Assists in the development, recommendation and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the assigned department division(s).
• Participates in the preparation and administration of an assigned recreation center or specialized recreation program budget.
• Plans, evaluates and coordinates programs, classes, athletic activities and special events, including scheduling facilities, ensuring facilities are set up, scheduling trips and hiring coaches.
• Monitors the day-to-day operations of programs and events, including making site visits, handling and resolving complaints not requiring the attention of a supervisor and ensuring that programs and events have required materials and supplies.
• Formulates and organizes program plans and schedules for seasonal and year-round activities and special events. 
• Acts as liaison and representative with a variety of advisory boards, commissions, community groups, law enforcement agencies, schools and councils.
• Creates program flyers, brochures, catalogs and newsletters, including determining content, layout, materials and distribution methods; prepares activity and operating reports.
• Enforces safety and operating procedures and provides for maintenance needs including compliance with health and safety codes and building codes.
• Books facility rentals for customers; attends to facility users needs, including permits and equipment; prints weekly event schedule and ensures that all setups are done, manages facility budget, including maintenance and supplies.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

To be eligible for this position you must have knowledge of/ability to:

• Must have American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (or obtain within 1 year from time of hire).
• Must have American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (or obtain within 1 year from time of hire).

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in recreation administration, physical education, leisure services or a related field AND
• Two (2) years of full-time or its equivalent of recreation experience, OR

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

This position will perform a variety of responsible law enforcement and crime prevention work, including patrolling assigned areas, answering calls and complaints, investigating crimes, serving civil papers, and providing court room security; enforce all federal and state laws and local ordinances related to public safety and welfare.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Performs routine patrol duties, including but not limited to patrolling assigned areas of the County; responding to emergency calls and/or public calls for assistance; investigating disturbances, prowlers, burglaries, thefts, vehicle accidents and other crimes; checking buildings for physical security, etc.

• Administers first aid in emergency situations.

• Issues traffic citations.

• Serves warrants, subpoenas and civil documents.

• Apprehends and arrests suspects and violent persons; transports prisoners; seizes property and/or criminal evidence; interrogates suspects, witnesses and complainants; gathers and preserves evidence.

• Assists with County search and rescue operations.

• Prepares various reports on investigations, including arrest and unusual incidents observed.

• Assists with criminal investigations as required.

• Prepares case files; testifies and presents evidence in court.

• Works with other law enforcement agencies in matters related to the investigation of crimes and apprehension of offenders.

• May serve as special duty officer as assigned, including responsibilities such as serving on the narcotics task force, serving as Deputy Coroner, providing court security, serving as school resource officer, serving as K-9 handler, serving on gang task force, etc.

• Participates in other special projects and programs as assigned.

• Performs duties related to crime prevention and community relations.
