The Position

What You’ll Do

The Community Services Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the leisure, cultural, and human services activities of the Division and providing highly responsible professional and technical staff assistance. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

SENIOR TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER

The Organization

The Public Works, Transportation Engineering Division plans and operates a multi-modal transportation system with safe and convenient choices for walking, bicycling, driving and using transit, through local actions, and in coordination with regional and state transportation agencies. Our work is guided by a City adopted Mobility Action Plan, Vision Zero Action Plan and in Coordination with the City's Mobility Commission. 

The City is currently developing its first Active Transportation Plan (ATP), which updates and consolidates its previous Bicycle Master Plan and Pedestrian Master Plan and provides guidance for its active transportation programs for the next five years.

The Position

The Senior Transportation Engineer plays a key role in implementing Fremont's General Plan vision to be "a national model of how an auto-oriented suburb can evolve into a sustainable, strategically urban, modern city." Specific City goals and current projects include implementing the "Vision Zero" traffic safety improvement program, transforming Fremont's transportation corridors into "complete streets" that are safe, comfortable, and convenient for all travel modes and users of "All Ages and Abilities", reducing the number of vehicle miles traveled, expanding available transit services, modernizing the City's traffic signal system, upgrading State Highway corridors, and supporting new innovations in transportation technology.

In 2019, the City completed a Mobility Action Plan and formed a Mobility Commission to assist with plan implementation. The Behavioral Health Clinician I/II performs a variety of professional duties in the provision of outpatient and crisis behavioral health services to individuals and groups. This person will work with complex casework which may include clinics, criminal justice, adult services, youth and family services, and other mental health settings where they may be asked to  respond to crisis situations, work with case managers and psychiatrists in treatment teams and be familiar with various treatment modalities to ensure clients are in appropriate treatment services. • Responds to online, telephone and in-person inquiries from the public and co-workers, receives web and paper reservation applications, reviews applications for proper use of space according to District guidelines, determines approval/rejection of applications, notifies applicants of decisions, and files documents for recordkeeping.
• Assists in authorizing permits for private and public entities, reviews permit holder’s evidence of insurance, submits and files insurance forms.
• Accepts payments from permit holders including deposits for space, processes payments for accounting purposes, obtains information on after-use condition of facilities, determines amount of refunds, providing justification as needed if part or all of refund is withheld, and processes deposit refunds as appropriate.
• Accurately processes monetary transactions including credit card transactions, issues receipts, reconciles cash and receipts, and prepares bank deposits.
• Researches, studies and interprets city and District rules and regulations related to use of public facilities, provides expert knowledge of space availability, codes and ordinances to the public on use of facilities.
• Assists with troubleshooting issues related to functionality of reservation software program, receives feedback on reservation system, and proposes modifications to program to enhance user experience.
• Distributes printed and posted material related to reservations in marketing efforts.

The Position

The City of South San Francisco seeks customer service-oriented individuals to join the Community Resource Team at the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center. This position is shared between the Library Department and Parks and Recreation Department and works under the direction of the Community Resource Analyst. The Community Resource Clerk will typically be stationed at the lobby desks on the first and second floors of the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center at 901 Civic Campus Way in South San Francisco, however, may temporarily be assigned to other sites, or to represent the departments at special events.
