 The Accounting and General Services Specialist III position is in the Community Action Department. This position performs a variety of highly complex technical para-professional administrative duties including lead and/or supervisory duties in support of one or more of the following functional areas; facilities management, fiscal and accounting; department administrative or department projects, or programs, that require a thorough knowledge of the terminology, procedures, and practices for the assigned functional area; and performs related work as assigned. The Accounting and General Services Specialist III classification differs from the level II classification, which is the journey level in the series and does not provide supervision or handle highly complex administrative support duties. This position is full-time and is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Maintains routine and highly complex administrative, accounting, personnel, payroll, and/or fiscal records.
• Maintains journals and general ledgers of financial transactions and prepares analytical reports on revenues and expenditures.
• Enters data into computer systems and maintains information systems database; processes transactions, assesses and validates data, compiles documentation, reconciles reports.
• Reviews, verifies, and processes documents related to department activities including budgets, contracts, grants, claims, legislation, purchasing, and other specialized documents based on area of assignment.
• Verifies and reconciles various information, reports, journals or related fiscal and statistical data.

The Position

The Intergovernmental and Public Affairs Unit is responsible for managing the County's legislative programs in Sacramento and Washington DC. This includes developing the County's Legislative Session Program, initiating legislation, and monitoring State and Federal legislation and budget issues that affect the County. In addition, special projects of an intergovernmental nature are staffed by the unit, including grants.

 

The Legislative Analyst performs research on and provides interpretation, analysis, and coordination of Federal and State legislative matters impacting the County. The Legislative Analyst also provides staff support in preparing legislative research and positions and performs varied, complex tasks in support of the work of the Intergovernmental and Public Affairs Unit.

 

This position receives general supervision from the County’s Chief Legislative Officer and may exercise indirect supervision over lower-level professional, technical, and clerical employees.

Distinguishing Characteristics

Associate Engineer - This is the journey level class in the engineering series. Positions in this class possess the applicable educational background and work experience required for classes in the engineering series. The Associate Engineer is distinguished from the Assistant Engineer by the performance of the full range of duties with only minimal instruction or assistance. Incumbents work independently, seeking assistance only as new or unusual situations arise. Representative Duties

The Project Development Manager is responsible for participating in project development through working with developers, feedstock providers, financing agencies, public agencies, and other organizations related primarily to the development of biomass facilities. The Project Development Manager assumes a high level of responsibility for difficult, complex and varied duties, works with a high degree of independence, and represents Pioneer Community Energy to a variety of stakeholders and outside entities. Duties include:

• Developing biomass power generation facilities within California.
• Managing and supporting all aspects of biomass project development from initial site selection through operations.
• Managing contractors, vendors, and consultants to maintain project timeline and value optimization.
• Communicating and syncing cross-functionally, including with developers, procurement team, legislative/regulatory, and legal team members regularly to minimize project risks.
• Identifying, proposing, and implementing creative or alternative project development approaches that reduce exposure to permitting risks, optimize development schedules or drive additional project value.
• Managing and facilitating development services agreements with local or regional development partners.
• Working with developers on exploring project funds and financing alternatives during financial feasibility analysis, evaluation, and during the project debt and tax equity financing processes.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Deputy County Counsel II/III in the Office of County Counsel. Under the direction of the County Counsel and Chief Deputy County Counsel, attorneys in this series perform professional legal work by preparing and trying civil cases and providing legal counsel and assistance to the County, it’s officers, associated boards and commissions, as well as outside agencies; assist departments in interpreting regulations on a wide range of topics; represent officers and employees in litigation; and perform duties as assigned.  The Deputy County Counsel I/II/III classification is flexibly staffed and depending on background and experience, may be filled directly at the Deputy County Counsel II or III level.
