The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a driven, tech-savvy, service-oriented, visionary leader to elevate and manage the Information Technology Department’s Project Management Office (PMO) Division while being hands-on in driving successful execution of projects. This Division focuses on project delivery, portfolio and project management, strategic alignment, business process redesign, Request for Proposals (RFPs), requirements definition, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of program management, implementing effective governance to improve internal efficiencies and resource management. They have a strong passion for customer service, process improvement, execution of strategic initiatives and operational enhancements. As an Information Technology Manager, you will be joining a highly service-oriented team of technical professionals and leadership team who are passionate about our customers, community, and technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience implementing or establishing a Project Management Office (PMO) or set of project management standards across an organization.
• Experience with PMI-based Project Management, Portfolio Management and Program Management Methodologies; PMP, PgMP and/or PfMP certified a plus.
• The ability to build consensus and help other departments uphold the standards and priorities of the PMO.
• Work experience with implementing major, complex systems or business process changes.
• Work experience coaching and mentoring staff and establishing staff performance goals and improvement plans.
• Work with various levels of customers to provide guidance on defining requirements and establishing project scope.
• Experience utilizing Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools to provide oversight and management of all IT projects across an organization.
• Knowledge and experience with change management and how to help clients and support teams transition from projects to operations.
• Knowledge of LEAN Business Process Re-Engineering, Kaizen or SixSigma principles.
• Experience with establishing performance-based metrics and KPIs.

Salary: $172,706.00 - $215,883.00 Annually

The City of Thousand Oaks has an exciting opportunity! We are seeking a knowledgeable and results oriented Plan Check Supervisor who will be responsible for staff oversight, assigning, reviewing, organizing, and participating in the work of the Plan Check Section staff in the Building Division of the Community Development Department.

Plan check functions include ensuring permits are issued only for those plans that meet all state and local codes regulating life-safety, quality of life, energy conservation, and structural safety standards. This position is responsible for the more technical and complex plan check tasks and serves as a technical resource to staff.

• Plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates the work of assigned plan check staff; develops, implements, and monitors work plans to achieve goals and objectives; supervises and participates in developing, implementing, and evaluating plans, work processes, systems, and procedures to achieve annual goals, objectives, and work standards.
• Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the performance of assigned staff; establishes performance requirements and personal development targets; regularly monitors performance and provides coaching for performance improvement and development; recommends compensation and provides other rewards to recognize performance; recommends disciplinary action, up to and including termination, to address performance deficiencies, in accordance with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations.
• Participates in the selection of plan check staff; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies.
• Establishes schedules and methods for providing plan check services; identifies resource needs; reviews needs with appropriate management staff; allocates resources accordingly.
• Provides leadership and works with staff to ensure a high performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports achieving the department’s and the City’s mission, objectives and values.
• Participates in the development of the assigned program budget; forecasts funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors and approves expenditures; recommends budgetary adjustments as necessary.
• Performs the more difficult and complex engineering tasks related to plan checking; reviews complex and difficult construction plans including those for single- and multiple-family dwellings, residential additions, alterations, and repairs, commercial and industrial structures and buildings as well as additions, alterations and repairs, and other projects.
• Reviews and verifies engineering calculations and architectural plans, grading plans, soil engineering recommendations, and related items to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances as well as seismic design provisions; indicates corrections for both plans and calculations; communicates in writing with engineers, architects, and others regarding plan review findings and proposed corrections.
• Reviews and evaluates the most difficult and complex proposed building plans and specifications to insure that proposed construction complies with building, fire, environmental, flood hazard, design, energy, grading, trades, and related codes.
• Makes code interpretations for, responds to more complicated inquiries from, and provides information to architects, engineers, contractors, building designers, owners, and the general public regarding plan review and other code-related items and issues.
• Explains, interprets, and provides guidance regarding applicable codes, regulations, hand-outs, and related materials to the public, architects, engineers, contractors, developers, owners, staff, and other interested parties; answers questions regarding building codes and requirements and interprets plans for field inspectors; resolves highly complex and sensitive customer service issues, including alternate methods and materials, either personally, by telephone or in writing; maintains records and documents of customer service issues and resolutions.

The Engineering Group Manager – Facilities will oversee a diverse and talented team responsible for managing the planning, design, and construction of capital projects at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). This individual will lead the delivery of high-impact projects ranging from transit infrastructure upgrades to the improvement and rehabilitation of maintenance yards and other critical facilities. The Part-Time Golf Service Assistant is responsible for performing customer service and cash handling tasks in accordance with standard procedures and following specific instructions from the supervising staff. The Golf Service Assistant classification is distinguished from the higher classification of Assistant Golf Professional in that the latter has increased level of responsibility, such as explaining and enforcing rules of the game of golf, equipment repair, golf starting, and event coordination.

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is looking for a skilled Accountant II to perform a range of complex and varied technical and professional accounting tasks. Key duties include auditing, analyzing, and verifying financial records and reports, preparing financial and statistical reports, assisting with budget preparation, and reconciling general ledger accounts. This role also involves preparing year-end audit reports and schedules, managing full-cycle Accounts Payable (A/P) functions, and coordinating Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) disbursements.
