The working schedule is to be determined based on business needs and candidate availability, and no more than 1,000 hours in a fiscal year.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in an office environment in close proximity to other workers.  Incumbent shall be exposed to those conditions normally encountered in a business office environment.  Physical demands require frequent standing, reaching, leaning, twisting, grasping, lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.  Must carry moderately heavy boxes up to 50 pounds and/or utilize a dolly.  Incumbent must be able to drive safely to various City sites.  Incumbent must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction.  Incumbent must have the stamina to work long hours and overtime, if assigned, and be willing to work an irregular schedule, which might include evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying hours.

The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Principal Staff Specialist in the Strategic Incentives Division (SI) Division. This is an open recruitment for one (1) full-time, represented position.

The Strategic Incentives Division supports the Air District’s mission by implementing incentive programs (grant programs) that achieve voluntary reductions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases, primarily from on- and off-road vehicles and equipment that operate in the Air District’s jurisdiction. In 2023-2024, the SI Division is administering more than $90 million in new revenue to fund programs and projects that replace older diesel-fueled vehicles and equipment such as school and transit buses, marine vessels, locomotives, trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, and other mobile equipment, with newer, cleaner alternatives, including zero-emission technologies, and install refueling/charging infrastructure that supports the accelerated adoption of zero-emissions vehicles and equipment. Other programs administered support the reduction of single-occupancy vehicle, provide cash and mobility options to residents for turning in their older vehicles, and provide grants to reduce pollution from woodburning devices. About you in the position

The Principal Staff Specialist (AB 617 role) in the SI Division will coordinate the division's efforts in bringing greater equity to grant programs through program development, collaboration with other divisions, and engagement with communities under the AB 617 program. With your in-depth knowledge of the Air District’s emission reduction grant programs, you will lead the division's participation in internal and external AB 617 engagement, including communicating the role of the division; analyzing, reporting, and presenting information about air quality improvement incentive programs and mobile sources, participating in community meetings, proposing and guiding discussions on incentive-related emission reduction strategies and actions, developing plans/programs to implement action, and soliciting feedback on strategy implementation. Examples of other tasks include preparing written materials related to grant programs, reports and plans; proposing recommendations for updates to current incentive programs; developing and supporting the development of new programs; assessing impacts of regulatory actions on mobile source categories; presenting to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders; and leading and training staff. The Superior Court of California, County of Alameda is accepting applications for the position of Courtroom Clerk I. Under general supervision, the Courtroom Clerk I records and prepares minutes of all types of court proceedings; resolves workflow and other technical and procedural problems within the courtroom; enters and retrieves information from automated and manual record keeping systems; and performs other related duties as assigned.

This is the trainee and entry-level class in the Courtroom Clerk series. The Courtroom Clerk I receives formalized and on-the-job training in the techniques and procedures of courtroom work. Progression to Courtroom Clerk II requires demonstration of proficiency in functioning independently in a variety of courtroom settings and in performing the full range of duties expected of a Courtroom Clerk.

A new eligibility list will be established to fill Courtroom Clerk I vacancies at various court locations. Courtroom Clerks may be assigned or reassigned to various locations within the County and work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., as determined by the business needs of the Court.

Option I

The equivalent to two years of full-time experience as a Legal Processing Assistant with the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda.

or Option II

Possession of an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree or equivalent to two years of college coursework with 60 semester units or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university.

And

The equivalent to two years of full-time increasingly responsible clerical experience in a banking, court, education, health care, law enforcement, legal, probation or social services environment.

Additional qualifying work experience as described above may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. One year (2080 hours) of additional qualifying work experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester units/45 quarter units.

The City is seeking a Division Manager to manage all services and activities in the Safety Division of the Human Resources Department. The Safety Manager will report to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and will be responsible for administering the City of San José's extensive safety program, which includes Worker's Compensation, Employee Health Services, Injury and Illness Prevention Programs, City Driving Program, Safety Show Voucher Program, and ergonomics. The Assistant Director and Division Manager will work closely to make recommendations to the City Manager based on their evaluation of all safety plans.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration. 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims administration including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. You will also serve as a consultant to City departments and employees on Risk Management (workers' compensation, safety, contract insurance) problems and communicate regularly with internal and external parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and activities, minimize risk, and advise of claim developments.
