About the Division

About the Role

The newly created Community Services Division Director position is an exciting and unique opportunity to build a new division of the City of San Rafael.

The Community Services Division Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the City of San Rafael's efforts to address critical social issues, particularly focusing on homelessness at this time.  Reporting directly to the Assistant City Manager, the Division Director will oversee and develop the newly created Community Services Division, ensuring the effective development and implementation of programs that improve the quality of life for residents in need.

In this role, the Division Director will manage a broad range of responsibilities, from strategic planning and policy development to budget management and interdepartmental and interagency coordination. They will be a key liaison between the City and  our County partners, and various other stakeholders, including public agencies, community organizations, and residents. Their work will involve close collaboration with other City departments, public and private partners, and community groups to advance initiatives that address homelessness and related services.

In their first year, they’ll work to develop the City’s first homelessness strategic plan, setting priorities and policies to guide the City’s work in this space for the next five years.

One of the key, immediate priorities the Division Director will oversee is the implementation of the City’s $6M Encampment Resolution Fund Grant. This includes leading the contractor and staff team operating the City’s planned Sanctioned Camping Program and spearheading the identification of a site for a future interim shelter and/or transitional housing. In addition, they’ll also coordinate the implementation of the City’s Camping on Public Property ordinance.

The Community Services Division Director will directly and indirectly lead a dedicated team, guiding their efforts to deliver high-quality services that meet and respond to the needs of the community. The Division Director will also be responsible for securing and managing funding, developing and maintaining partnerships, and ensuring that the Division's programs are both effective and sustainable. The Big Lift, a collective impact initiative that seeks to increase kindergarten readiness and improve third grade reading proficiency in San Mateo County, is recruiting to fill one Intern Fellow II vacancy.
 
The County of San Mateo’s Human Services Agency serves as the initiatives “Backbone Agency”. THE POSITION:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Secretary position in the City Clerk's Office will be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual, capable of handling a wide range of administrative and clerical duties. They should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to efficiently interact with members of the public, City officials, and other departments. Strong proficiency in office software, including word processing and spreadsheets, is essential for this role. The candidate will also need to demonstrate a deep understanding of record-keeping and be able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Program (AOP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

Police Records Specialist

The Police Records Specialist is a civilian, non-sworn position responsible for performing essential and sensitive administrative work in maintaining Police Department records, criminal information, and court documents. This position requires strong computer and organizational skills and attention to detail when processing and maintaining various police records, reports, statistics, and other related materials. Police Records Specialists interact daily with Town personnel, other law enforcement agencies, and the public. They must operate with complete confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact.

Police Records Specialists staff the public counter at the Town's Police Headquarters and assist walk-in customers with completing various forms and applications and processing subpoenas, criminal complaints, citations, and warrants. The Community  Action Program Specialist determines client’s needs for program services and provides case management and/or crisis intervention in one or more various program areas. The Community Action Program Specialist II is the full journey level class within the series and is   distinguished from the entry level class by the performance of the full range of duties, including the more complex cases. This position is full-time and is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Position

The Town of Atherton invites you to apply for the position of Front Desk Receptionist / Clerk for the City Manager’s Office. The position requires an individual to provide responsible professional, administrative, and technical assistance to support the City Manager’s Office which includes City Clerk functions. The individual will provide administrative support and general reception for the Town Hall. The administrative functions include, but are not limited to, supporting activities to promote and prepare for Town meetings, processing applications for permits, customer service and public interaction related to Town programs and services, special projects based on needs; and assisting in office management functions.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of routine to moderately complex clerical and customer service-related duties requiring program knowledge, technical evaluation of information, and the use of clerical skills to support the operations of the assigned department.  This current part-time vacancy will reside in the City Manager’s Office focusing on Human Resources tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Receives visitors and telephone calls; answers questions, and provides departmental information, documents, or forms requiring specialized knowledge; routes or directs individuals as appropriate.
• Receives, date stamps, reviews, and distributes department mail.
• Performs varied clerical duties related to the department as assigned.
• Establishes and maintains routine databases and filing systems; files, scans, and archives documents.
• Researches readily available information; enters and compiles data in paper and electronic files; compiles and prepares basic reports regarding division activities in the area of assignment.
• Provides backup support for other administrative support staff as necessary.
• Assists with the following Human Resources duties: Workers’ Compensation claims; Onboarding new employees; Benefits enrollment; Recruitments; Preemployment; Employment verifications; Policy review and interpretation; Financial audits; EDD claims.
• Assists with reviewing, evaluating, and updating forms, policies, procedures, and manuals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this class, the employee is constantly required to sit, and frequently to stand and walk to counter areas.  The sensory demands include the ability to talk, and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate computer hardware and standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee occasionally lifts and carries records and documents weighing less than 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use oral and written communication skills; read and interpret data; and interact appropriately with staff, management, vendors, and the general public in the course of work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee frequently works in office conditions where the noise level is usually moderate, at and below 85 decibels.

Details:

Full-time regular position, alternative 9/80 work schedule with alternating Mondays or Fridays off

Current salary ranges with Excellent Benefits (see below)

• Office Specialist I: $20.22 - $25.69
• Office Specialist II: $22.19 - $28.32

Minimum Qualifications for consideration: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: 

Office Specialist I:

Education/Training: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized secretarial training.

Experience: One year of responsible administrative support experience.

Office Specialist II:

Education/Training: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized secretarial training.

Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible administrative support experience comparable to an Office Specialist II with the City of Simi Valley.
