THE POSITION

Under general supervision, the Senior Traffic Signal Technician performs semi-skilled tasks involving maintenance, repair, modification, inspection and testing of traffic signals, controllers, and street lighting systems; leads and participates in a work crew; and performs other duties as assigned. This advanced journey-level classification in the Traffic Signal Technician series is distinguished from the Traffic Signal Technician by the added responsibility of providing day-to-day lead direction to section activities and staff.

Examples of Duties:

• Schedules maintenance, repair, construction, and replacement for traffic signal and street lighting assignments
• Assigns and monitors the work of assigned staff, including contractors
• Troubleshoots and evaluates maintenance and repair needs

Accountant II

Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Successful performance of the work requires thorough knowledge of governmental accounting practices and procedures, fund accounting, and fiscal management.

The positions in the Accountant class series are flexibly staffed. DEFINITION

PC/LAN Technician I: Under supervision, performs skilled technical work on the City’s Personal Computers and Local Area Network, and network servers, including hardware, software and peripherals, and performs other duties as assigned.

PC/LAN Technician II: Under general supervision, performs complex technical work on the City’s Personal Computers and Local Area Network, and networks servers, including hardware, software, and peripherals, may supervise the work of lower level staff, and perform other duties as assigned. Positions in this class require frequent use of a high degree of independent judgment and interpretative ability. Duties do not always follow standard routines; the employee recommends changes in methods and procedures when necessary. The class is required to have operating knowledge of computer systems and greater overall experience.

Positions in the PC/LAN Technician II classification are flexibly staffed and normally filled from advancement from the PC/LAN Technician I class, or when filled from the outside, require specific technology experience. Appointment to this class requires the employee to be performing substantially the full range of PC/LAN Technician duties and to meet the qualifications for the class. The class requires the ability to work independently exercising judgment and initiative and a greater knowledge of the City’s computer systems.

THE POSITION:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Secretary position in the City Clerk's Office will be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual, capable of handling a wide range of administrative and clerical duties. The Police Records Specialist is a civilian, non-sworn position responsible for performing essential and sensitive administrative work in maintaining Police Department records, criminal information, and court documents. The Community  Action Program Specialist determines client’s needs for program services and provides case management and/or crisis intervention in one or more various program areas.
