Accountant I

This is the entry-level classification in the Accountant Series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents perform a variety of professional accounting duties while learning City policies and procedures. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult and close supervision and frequent review of work lessen as an incumbent demonstrates skill to perform the work independently. Positions at this level usually perform most of the duties required of the positions at the II level, but are not expected to function at the same skill level and usually exercise less independent discretion and judgment in matters related to work procedures and methods. Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise.

Accountant II

This is the full journey-level classification in the series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the I-level by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Successful performance of the work requires thorough knowledge of governmental accounting practices and procedures, fund accounting, and fiscal management.

The positions in the Accountant class series are flexibly staffed. Accountant I positions have the opportunity to advance to the Accountant II level, subject to management approval and the employee’s ability to (i) perform the full range of duties assigned to the Accountant II level, and (ii) acquire the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to meet the minimum qualifications for the Accountant II level of the series.

The City of Dixon is looking to fill one full-time position for a Maintenance Worker I/II in the Public Works Department and to create an eligibility list for future use. This position performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of the City's parks, buildings, streets, storm drain ponds and related facilities; to perform related duties as assigned.

THE POSITION:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Secretary position in the City Clerk's Office will be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual, capable of handling a wide range of administrative and clerical duties. They should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to efficiently interact with members of the public, City officials, and other departments. Strong proficiency in office software, including word processing and spreadsheets, is essential for this role. The candidate will also need to demonstrate a deep understanding of record-keeping and be able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. Familiarity with the City's legislative process, Municipal Code, and Public Records Act is a plus. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be a proactive problem solver, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in taking minutes for a public body and interacting with members of the public is highly desirable.

• Relieve supervisor or other department staff of administrative support service functions; utilize independent judgement and initiative.

Police Records Specialist

The Police Records Specialist is a civilian, non-sworn position responsible for performing essential and sensitive administrative work in maintaining Police Department records, criminal information, and court documents. This position requires strong computer and organizational skills and attention to detail when processing and maintaining various police records, reports, statistics, and other related materials. Police Records Specialists interact daily with Town personnel, other law enforcement agencies, and the public. They must operate with complete confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact.

Police Records Specialists staff the public counter at the Town's Police Headquarters and assist walk-in customers with completing various forms and applications and processing subpoenas, criminal complaints, citations, and warrants. MAINTENANCE WORKER (Full time)

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Maintenance Worker I:  This is the entry level class in the maintenance worker series. Positions in this class normally perform a variety of unskilled and semi‑skilled maintenance tasks. Although trucks and other motorized equipment may be operated by a Maintenance Worker I, the equipment is used on a training basis or for tasks which are repetitious in nature. Under this training concept, positions assigned to the class of Maintenance Worker II which become vacant may reasonably be filled at the Maintenance Worker I level, with the understanding that reassignment to the Maintenance Worker II class may be expected following successful job performance and personal development.

Maintenance Worker II: This is the journey level in the maintenance worker series. Positions assigned to this class are expected to perform semi‑skilled and skilled public works maintenance activities and to operate light and moderately heavy power‑driven equipment on a continuing basis. All positions allocated to this class require that an incumbent be able to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative to fulfill assigned tasks. • Paint traffic directional markings, such as crosswalks and safety loading zones.
• Fabricate, install, repair and replace street signs.
• Operate heavy power‑driven equipment on a relief or training basis.
• Water, mow, weed, trim, renovate, and fertilize grass and other landscaped areas.
• Rake leaves, clean walks, fields, courts, and other facilities.
• Spade and otherwise prepare ground around plants and shrubs, including mixing and applying fertilizers.

Maintenance Worker I: Possession of a valid California Class C driver license.  There is an employee weight limitation of 325 pounds to meet the legal limits for the safe use of certain equipment.

The Community  Action Program Specialist determines client’s needs for program services and provides case management and/or crisis intervention in one or more various program areas. The Community Action Program Specialist II is the full journey level class within the series and is   distinguished from the entry level class by the performance of the full range of duties, including the more complex cases. This position is full-time and is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Analyzes clients’ financial and eligibility information to determine initial or continuing eligibility for programs.
• Secures case documentation, records, and/or other information from other agencies as required.
• Interview and evaluates clients for specific program services eligibility and/or employment opportunities, including service needs assessment and crisis intervention, to assist individuals/families in achieving self-sufficiency. 
• Conducts orientation workshops for new and returning participants; explains regulations, rules and policies to clients and apprises them of their rights and responsibilities for program participation.
• Receives and responds to inquiries regarding program services from clients, other agencies, and the general public.

The Position

The Town of Atherton invites you to apply for the position of Front Desk Receptionist / Clerk for the City Manager’s Office. The position requires an individual to provide responsible professional, administrative, and technical assistance to support the City Manager’s Office which includes City Clerk functions. The individual will provide administrative support and general reception for the Town Hall. The administrative functions include, but are not limited to, supporting activities to promote and prepare for Town meetings, processing applications for permits, customer service and public interaction related to Town programs and services, special projects based on needs; and assisting in office management functions.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in providing support for community events that will include assistance with public engagement, planning, and outreach.
• Assist with preparing public meeting agenda packages and materials.
• Maintain files and filing systems in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Provides support with calculating, preparing, issuing and/or submitting bills invoices, and other payment records for services.
• Provides general administrative support to the City Manager’s Office that may include drafting and maintaining departmental records, tracking and filing Town contracts.

The position will occasionally back up the City Clerk at evening meetings.
