The Department: The Suisun City Police Department is a progressive and proactive law enforcement agency. THE POSITION

The current opening is for a full-time position and is under the direction of the Police Records Supervisor. The Police Records Clerk will provide a wide variety of clerical, typing, and computer data entry tasks related to Police records; maintaining accurate Police statistics, records, and files; conducting business and transactions with the public, in person and by telephone; is available for occasional night and/or weekend duty as required, and performing other related work as required.

BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for all Police statistical record keeping.
• Perform a variety of data entry, typing, and clerical work related to all phases of the Police operation,  such as preparing forms, ordering department supplies, and making appointments.
• Prepare correspondence and compile information for reports.
• Direct requests to proper agencies and departments.
• Enter, update, and maintain data while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all information.
• Coordinate service of subpoenas.
• Compile data for Public Records Act requests.
• Approve and prepare reports for the District Attorney.
• Assist the public both in person and by telephone, requiring knowledge of rules and procedures.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The County of Yuba is currently accepting Full-Time applications for the position of Office Assistant. The current vacancy exists in the Probation Department. Under close supervision, provides a limited range of administrative support for an assigned department, including tasks such as word processing, data entry, reception duties, scheduling, website updates, record maintenance, creating routine forms, memoranda, correspondence, reports, and operating office equipment as needed; and preforms related duties as assigned. The Position

The Police Evidence and Property Technician is responsible to perform administrative and technical duties associated with the acceptance, storage, control and disposal of police evidence and property; to protect the integrity of evidence throughout the judicial process; and to ensure compliance with all State and local laws regarding the storage and disposition of property and evidence.

THE DEPARTMENT

The American Canyon Police Department provides first response services to all forms of emergencies and crises.  The Department provides public safety by enforcing the Penal Code, Health and Safety Code, Vehicle Code, and local ordinances.  American Canyon Police Department is comprised of 24 sworn peace officers, two non-sworn Police Technicians, and an Administrative Clerk.

THE POSITION

The Police Technician performs a variety of non-sworn, administrative and field support tasks associated with law enforcement support services, which may include property and evidence collection, crime prevention, parking enforcement, vehicle abatement, and community relations; to maintain confidential and highly sensitive records related to police activities; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

This is a high-profile position with frequent interactions with community members in often difficult circumstances. The quality of the work performed in this role is reflective of the standards of the Department and the City. This is a uniformed, civilian position that does not require peace officer status. However, a detailed background investigation, medical exam and drug screening is required due to the sensitive nature of the work involved.

This position is not designated for retired annuitants.

THE POSITION

Typical duties performed by a Police Technician may include, but are not limited to, the following:
 

• Patrol areas of the City to identify and resolve parking violations and traffic hazards and enforce applicable laws; respond to citizen complaints regarding parking and abandoned vehicle laws; tag and arrange transportation of abandoned vehicles.
• Provide assistance, information and directions to motorists; assist in the coordination of Police Service support for special events in the community; provide traffic control at local schools.
• Respond to non-emergency calls and service requests; take information from citizens and prepare crime reports for non-active calls; interview victims, suspects and witnesses, as directed, and provide referral information.
• Assist with Neighborhood Watch meetings and other crime prevention activities; provide information to interested citizens on neighborhood alert procedures; assist in coordinating crime prevention public displays.
• Collect, receive, and safeguard property/evidence; maintain evidence chain-of-custody records; transport evidence to Sheriff’s Department, Department of Justice, and outside crime lab.
• Coordinate public education, safety and prevention programs, and community outreach activities related to assigned responsibilities.
• Serve as liaison between court staff and Police Officers; assist Police Officers with follow-up evidence requests from the District Attorney’s Office. 
• Log and distribute subpoenas to officers and citizens.
• Receive calls; respond to citizen’s questions and complaints within established guidelines; distribute calls for officer assistance to communications centers; take and relay messages to department personnel as required.
• Handle the abandoned vehicle program to include locating and citing abandoned vehicles and overseeing the towing away of the vehicle.
• Coordinate various crime prevention, volunteer, and community policing programs.
• Research and compile statistical data.
• Assist Police Officers with vehicle and person searches.
• Drive a City vehicle to respond to citizen/officer requests; assist and support patrol division in the performance of their duties in the field.
• Assist with coordination of fleet maintenance and daily fueling of vehicles. 
• Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
• Perform general administrative support functions; type letters, forms, memoranda, and reports; transcribe police reports and notes; operate a computer system to enter/retrieve/transfer data; copy materials; maintain filing systems, screen, sort, and distribute mail; order and maintain office supplies and equipment.
• Assist Police department personnel as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting to establish an employment list for the classification of Social Worker II. Under general supervision, incumbents perform moderately complex social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; conducting field visits; identifying, assessing and arranging alternative solutions to clients’ needs and obstacles; carry a moderately complex caseload; prepare and monitor plans; prepare court reports, depending on area of assignment; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to more general social service benefit provision. Social Worker II is the journey-level in the social work series. This position reports directly to a Social Worker Supervisor II or other higher-level supervisor or manager.

Example of Duties:

• Interview and counsel a diverse population of clients; isolate barriers to self-sufficiency; and evaluate need for services and/or make appropriate referrals to training, public assistance and social services programs.
• Perform case management of moderately complex cases.
• Conduct field/home visits, assessments, and reassessments as required to monitor and investigate progress and compliance
• Prepare and review court pleadings, depending on area of assignment.

THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael Police Department is recruiting for a full-time, Police Call Taker & Records Specialist.  This position routinely takes all non-emergency calls for service both over the telephone and in person at the police department counter; provides information and assistance to the public both over the telephone and in person; processes, maintains, and disseminates all police reports and a wide variety of confidential police reports and a wide variety of confidential police department records.  This position is a journey level specialized police civilian classification and performs all duties required to effectively dispatch police services.

This position performs the following essential job duties:  (including but not limited to the following):

• Answers and evaluates all non-emergency calls for service and responds to each individual call with appropriate action and may be required to take some emergency calls for service.
• Enters information into the CAD system about calls for service including type, location, nature and description of the event; researches, interprets, and applies the appropriate law, code, or statute to all police records related issues.
• Evaluates and handles all in-person requests for service at the front counter of the police department and responds to each request with appropriate action, including advice, information, referrals, assistance with counter reports, and taking of supplemental reports.
• Provides callers and walk-in customers with assistance, information, or referral on situations that they determine not to be police-related; serves as a conduit of information from the police department to other public safety agencies and service providers.
• Operates a complex computerized records management system; processes and maintains a wide variety of police reports, documents, and records in both electronic and paper format; enters and retrieves information from other law enforcement data bases and resources.
• Maintains and ensures the integrity and security of all confidential police records and reports; provides for the appropriate release of information in accordance with all state laws governing confidentiality and the release of police records; researches, purges and seals records.
• Prepares mandated statistical and other reports for the State Department of Justice; prepares, codes, categorizes, tabulates, enters, and audits a variety of data, forms, and reports.
• Prepares both standardized and specialized letters, records, and reports; prepares releases for impounded and stored vehicles and criminal record clearances.  Collects fees, posts and balances monies.
• Orders and maintains office supplies; delivers reports to other agencies; may be asked to perform matron duties.
• Performs related duties as required.
