This position prepares hot and cold food for inmates; supervises and instructs inmates in the preparation and serving of meals to other inmates in a detention facility; receives, stores, and maintains ingredients used for meals; and monitors and maintains security of the kitchen facility, equipment, and inmate workers. This position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week. 
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Checks menus and number of persons to be fed; instructs inmates in obtaining necessary ingredient for meals and preparing work area; instruct inmates in a variety of chopping, cutting, mixing, grating, and food preparation tasks; instructs inmates on the operation of stoves and other equipment.
• Prepares or supervises the preparation of special meals for inmates with medical problems.
• Supervises inmates in the cleaning of all equipment and kitchen work area; counts and keeps logs on all knives. Assists in keeping current inventory of kitchen and food supplies.
• Receives and checks supplies to ensure that proper amounts and types have been delivered; instructs inmates in transporting supplies to proper areas for storage.

In this role, you will provide highly responsible and specialized administrative and analytical and support within the City Attorney’s Office. You'll perform sensitive, complex, and difficult analytical work as a member of the City Attorney’s staff, including providing analytical support on issues that have significant city or community implications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this classification is:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, or related field and four (4) years of increasingly responsible analytical experience that included the development and administration of programs. Government experience desirable.

Must be willing and able to attend evening meetings. Specified positions may require possession of a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

Under general direction, the Deputy District Attorney I/II/III performs legal work in the enforcement of laws; prosecutes criminal cases as assigned by the District Attorney; advises the general public and law enforcement officers on criminal matters; and does related work as required. JOB DUTIES

• Prepare legal briefs for motions and appeals; prepares affidavits for search and arrest warrants; prepares trial briefs, checks questions of law.
• Provides legal and investigative analysis to police agencies; prepares briefs or opinions concerning law as applied to the jurisdiction of the District Attorney.
• Anticipates legal reasoning of defense attorneys and drafts jury instructions; presents opening statements, interrogates, and cross examines witnesses, argues points of law and makes final arguments or summations.
• Issues subpoenas; attends court pretrial conferences outside of court; represents the court in criminal calendar proceedings, including the scheduling of cases, pleas, negotiations, probation revocation hearings, motions, and sentencings.

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations. The work also involves interdepartmental cooperation with various public safety agencies located throughout the County to coordinate the most effective response to requests for assistance from the public.

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, provides a variety of office support activities including customer service, telephone and counter reception, document processing, record keeping, data entry and organization, cashiering, and filing; provides information and assistance to staff and the general public; and performs related work as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general supervision from assigned supervisory or management staff. Exercises no direct supervision over staff.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

Initially, under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform general office support work such as customer service at the front counter and over the phone, file and records maintenance, data entry, and screening phone calls, visitors, and mail, and directing questions to the appropriate staff. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult; and positions exercise judgment and initiative in their assigned tasks, receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

This position will perform a variety of responsible law enforcement and crime prevention work, including patrolling assigned areas, answering calls and complaints, investigating crimes, serving civil papers, and providing court room security; enforce all federal and state laws and local ordinances related to public safety and welfare.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Performs routine patrol duties, including but not limited to patrolling assigned areas of the County; responding to emergency calls and/or public calls for assistance; investigating disturbances, prowlers, burglaries, thefts, vehicle accidents and other crimes; checking buildings for physical security, etc.
