THE POSITION

Under general supervision, the Senior Traffic Signal Technician performs semi-skilled tasks involving maintenance, repair, modification, inspection and testing of traffic signals, controllers, and street lighting systems; leads and participates in a work crew; and performs other duties as assigned. This advanced journey-level classification in the Traffic Signal Technician series is distinguished from the Traffic Signal Technician by the added responsibility of providing day-to-day lead direction to section activities and staff.

Examples of Duties:

• Schedules maintenance, repair, construction, and replacement for traffic signal and street lighting assignments
• Assigns and monitors the work of assigned staff, including contractors
• Troubleshoots and evaluates maintenance and repair needs
• Performs electrical maintenance and repairs on traffic signal, street lighting, and battery back-up systems and equipment
• Makes recommendations to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness
• Utilizes computers to perform word processing and specialized functions including preparing and maintaining written and computerized records, reports, and spreadsheets
• Assists in the preparation of the section’s budget

The City of Newark is now recruiting for a Human Resources Technician. BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform a variety of unskilled/semi-skilled maintenance or custodial duties involving manual labor of facilities, parks, storm drains, streets, etc.
• Clean and inspect facilities for vandalism or potential hazards.
• Sanitize surfaces, repair minor plumbing problems, diagnose basic sewer issues, replace components on fixtures.
• Maintain area(s) as assigned including parks and public buildings, performing basic repairs, inspections and landscaping.
• Load and unload supplies and materials.
• Assist with various areas of public works such as minor asphalt repairs, brush removal, facility repairs, stewardship of protected species, etc.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of  Human Resources Analyst I/II in the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Analyst performs a wide range of complex and professional analytical duties in support of a centralized human resources, organizational services and risk management office. 

This incumbent will use their strong understanding of human resources competencies and regulations to provide advice to supervisors, managers, and employees on all aspects of human resources policies, practices and procedures; research and analyze laws and regulations for compliance of human resources functions. Depending on the assignment, the incumbent will manage the County’s workforce development program, oversee employee development and training, and handle leave management. CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

Initially, under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform general office support work such as customer service at the front counter and over the phone, file and records maintenance, data entry, and screening phone calls, visitors, and mail, and directing questions to the appropriate staff. The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a Risk Analyst to join our highly collaborative and dedicated team in advancing the Housing Authority’s risk management and insurance programs. The Risk Analyst will have the opportunity to expand their expertise in risk management, insurance programs, and property mitigation. In the first year, the Risk Analyst will improve claims/incident report protocols, evaluate and enhance the Agency’s existing risk management and insurance programs, including researching insurance options in the face of rising insurance costs, and administer the Agency’s insurance policies and manage insurance-related claims and negotiations.

Primary Responsibilities

As an integral member of the Human Resources leadership team, this position will contribute insights and expertise on a broad range of Human Resources disciplines and issues.  This role includes managing a team of Risk, Safety, and Talent Development Analysts to ensure effective risk management, municipal claims processing, worker's compensation, insurance, occupational health and safety (OH&S) and talent development programs and initiatives.

This multi-faceted role includes the primary oversight of the following:

Talent Development

• Successfully lead the design, development, implementation, evaluation and sustainability of talent development programs and onboarding programs.
• Assess and make recommendations on the best learning methods for a diverse range of learning needs, including in-person/virtual instructor-led trainings (ILTs), e-learning videos, and more.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to evaluate training needs, and recommend, and develop training solutions, such as incorporating/preparing customized and purchased content.
• Increase organization utilization and integration of the employee Learning Management System.
• Coach and support supervisors and managers in employee learning, talent development, and performance management.
• Develop strategies for leadership transitions and work with departments to identify and develop employees for future leadership positions.

Risk & OH&S

• Drive the development and enhancement of risk management strategies, policies, and OH&S programs to minimize financial exposure and foster a safe workplace.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively manage and reduce risk.
• Assure appropriate analysis of claims and loss data to identify trends and areas for improvement while maintaining claims databases and records.
• Oversee claims data, loss experience, and OH&S performance.
• Stay current on relevant regulations and coordinate with legal counsel as needed to ensure compliance.
• Manage the risk and OH&S function budgets and programs.
