JOB DESCRIPTION 

Under general supervision of the Parks Supervisor, performs a variety of duties in maintaining and repairing parks facilities, city buildings, city grounds, swimming pool. 

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position. 
• Flexible schedule; not-to-exceed 1,000 hours per calendar year. 

Temporary Parks Maintenance Worker - Employee will be assigned 28 - 40 hours a week until the 1,000 hours are completed or season has concluded. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES 

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:  

• Mowing, weed-eating, edges, trimming. 
• Cleaning facilities, playgrounds, swimming pool, restrooms and buildings. 
• Up keeping fields, courts and other facilities. 
• Performing basic maintenance work.
• Up keeping equipment, tools and other supplies in proper condition. 
• Maintaining proper tree pruning and trimming on trees.
• Operating all hand tools required for work including: shovels, rakes, picks, hoes, wrenches, drills.
• All other duties assigned.

The City of Marysville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a Human Resources Manager, Assistant to the City Manager and City Clerk; this recruitment will fill 1 vacancy and create an eligible list.  

This recruitment will encompass three (3) different positions with the City of Marysville (Human Resources Manager (HR), Assistant to the City Manager (ACM) and City Clerk (CC); due to this caveat this classification specification will list duties and responsibilities for the three (3) positions.
The Human Resource Manager will conduct, lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. ACM - To perform a variety of administrative and managerial responsibilities in the conduct and management of the activities of preparing City Council agendas, minutes, and Council packets, as well as responding to Public Records request and maintaining all official City records. CC- The City Clerk shall perform those duties set out in the City of Marysville Charter and ordinances, as well as is prescribed by State and other law. The City Clerk shall also perform other duties incident to these laws, including staff support to the City Council approximately two times per month, as well as the Oversight Board and Levee Commission on an as need basis.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

HR - Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department. Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. ACM - Reports to and receives general direction from the City Manager. May exercise direct supervision over clerical staff.

ACM –

• Compile information for agenda preparation; collect background information; assemble agenda for printing; distribute packets to City Council and various agencies.

• Prepare and distribute updates and revisions of Council Policy and those of city boards, commissions, and committees.

• Respond to inquiries from the public by letter, telephone and in person regarding Council action and records; research information for public or city staff when necessary.

• Maintain administrative files including historical legal documents, resolutions, ordinances, agreements, deeds and annexations.

• Serve as custodian of the city seal and city archivist for official records.

• Process all municipal elections to County Elections Office and maintain election files for all municipal/special elections; receive initiatives and process accordingly.

• Maintain list of commissions and boards; receive applications for membership on boards and commission; publish notices for vacancies; process applications for Council selection; notify applicants of results.

• Assist City Manager in responding to various inquires related to city operations, policies, and programs.

• Serve as financial disclosure officer for Fair Political Practices Commission for campaign disclosure forms and statement of economic interest.

• Represent the department to outside agencies and organizations; participate in outside community and professional groups and committees; provide technical assistance as necessary.

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other city employees and the public using principles of good customer service.

• Process Worker’s Compensation Claims and coordinate other confidential HR-related activities.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

CC-

• Appointed by the City Council.

• Receives general direction from the City Manager on an as need basis.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Director of Finance located in Boulder Creek, CA. The Director of Finance supervises, oversees and manages the activities and operations of the Finance Department including financial reporting, general accounting, purchasing, warehousing and inventory control; budget preparation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, debt administration, revenue management, administration of invested funds and performs other related duties as required.

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking an experienced leader who will lead, manage, organize, plan and oversee the staff and activities of the Agency’s Innovation and Impact team including developing housing policy, program design, implementation and evaluation. Will work collaboratively with the leadership team and the community to bring meaningful opportunities and impact to the communities SCCHA serves.

The Assistant Director of Innovation and Impact plays an important role in leading the policy work and resident community initiatives, from innovation through evaluation.  This position will oversee and manage the Agency’s Moving to Work (MTW) Plan process in partnership with the leadership team and stakeholders, and requires knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to housing programs. 

As a member of our team, we are looking for a candidate that has a strong understanding and connection to SCCHA’s resident community needs and its supporting partners. Direct experience in community engagement, program and policy design and implementation, and evaluation of impact is highly desired.

Monitor cyber security logs, respond to cyber security incidents, plan design, and implement a variety of complex cyber security systems assists with determining hardware and software systems requirements and specifications; performs a variety of complex technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
 
Serves as the technical lead on the design and implementation of Valley Water’s most complex and highly integrated Cyber Security systems involving new, unfamiliar, or emerging technologies; to perform the most complex professional level duties in the development, installation, coding, integration, documentation, testing, and maintenance of Cyber Security controls and systems; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cyber Security: monitor and maintain security on infrastructure systems including IT security applications and appliances. Example: Microsoft security patching, updating appliance firmware, maintaining Cyber Security definitions, monitoring Anti-Spam solution, monitoring Cyber Security appliances, and recommending modifications to existing Cyber Security hardware, software, and overall security stance. Manages and monitors vulnerability scanning tools and makes recommendations to remediate identified Cyber Security vulnerabilities. IT/OT/ICS operational technology: Monitor network and security appliances for security breaches, updating firmware, maintaining security patches keeping security policies up to date, and maintaining documentation.

Primary assignment will focus on mapping and geolocating drinking water facilities to comply with new state regulatory compliance.  Secondary assignments may include field engineering support on construction of capital utility projects and assisting on various engineering reports and studies.

Applicants must be college students currently enrolled in and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university in a related field (e.g. public administration, public policy, business, planning, library science, environmental studies, engineering, sustainability). Undergraduate candidates must have a minimum of 48 semester units or equivalent completed.  Applicants should also be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal skills, able to use Microsoft Office software, demonstrate good research ability and have the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. 

SALARY AND HOURS: The salary range for Interns is $20.00 per hour, 15-18 hours per week over a 12-week period.  The start date is flexible depending on the student’s availability.

The City of Brisbane will be sponsoring up to four summer internships this year.  Our internships are project-oriented and designed to give college students a good general overview of future employment opportunities and current issues in the Public Sector.  You will have the opportunity for exposure to various areas of City Administration during your internship and to network with fellow interns and participate in professional development activities in San Mateo County and/or Santa Clara County.

Projects for 2024 include:

• Communications – Assist with developing innovative and relevant content for posting on City-administered social media sites, research and work with departments in developing articles for publication on the City’s website and print newsletter, and assist with aspects of video production including storyboarding, camera work, and script-writing.

• IT – Have some familiarity with programs such as Windows, Active Directory, Office/Microsoft 365. Must be able to disassemble and reassemble a PC. Projects will consist of adding and editing AD and email accounts and sorting and organizing hardware components. Some daily tasks will include responding to help desk requests and making basic equipment repairs and replacements.

• Human Resources - Offering learning opportunities by following a full recruitment and onboarding process. Assist with website updating; maintaining employee records; the conversion of physical records/forms to electronic format; and conducting research and analysis on HR-related topics.

• Public Works (Utilities) – Provide support to the City's Public Works Department - Utilities Division with various engineering projects in drinking water distribution, water resources, sanitary sewer collection, and storm drainage. Primary assignment will focus on mapping and geolocating drinking water facilities to comply with new state regulatory compliance.  Secondary assignments may include field engineering support on construction of capital utility projects and assisting on various engineering reports and studies.

Applicants must be college students currently enrolled in and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university in a related field (e.g. public administration, public policy, business, planning, library science, environmental studies, engineering, sustainability). Undergraduate candidates must have a minimum of 48 semester units or equivalent completed.  Applicants should also be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal skills, able to use Microsoft Office software, demonstrate good research ability and have the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. 

SALARY AND HOURS: The salary range for Interns is $20.00 per hour, 15-18 hours per week over a 12-week period.  The start date is flexible depending on the student’s availability.
