The City of Marysville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a Human Resources Manager, Assistant to the City Manager and City Clerk; this recruitment will fill 1 vacancy and create an eligible list.  

This recruitment will encompass three (3) different positions with the City of Marysville (Human Resources Manager (HR), Assistant to the City Manager (ACM) and City Clerk (CC); due to this caveat this classification specification will list duties and responsibilities for the three (3) positions.
The Human Resource Manager will conduct, lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. ACM - To perform a variety of administrative and managerial responsibilities in the conduct and management of the activities of preparing City Council agendas, minutes, and Council packets, as well as responding to Public Records request and maintaining all official City records. CC- The City Clerk shall perform those duties set out in the City of Marysville Charter and ordinances, as well as is prescribed by State and other law. The City Clerk shall also perform other duties incident to these laws, including staff support to the City Council approximately two times per month, as well as the Oversight Board and Levee Commission on an as need basis.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

HR - Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department. Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. ACM - Reports to and receives general direction from the City Manager. May exercise direct supervision over clerical staff.

ACM –

• Compile information for agenda preparation; collect background information; assemble agenda for printing; distribute packets to City Council and various agencies.

• Prepare and distribute updates and revisions of Council Policy and those of city boards, commissions, and committees.

• Respond to inquiries from the public by letter, telephone and in person regarding Council action and records; research information for public or city staff when necessary.

• Maintain administrative files including historical legal documents, resolutions, ordinances, agreements, deeds and annexations.

• Serve as custodian of the city seal and city archivist for official records.

• Process all municipal elections to County Elections Office and maintain election files for all municipal/special elections; receive initiatives and process accordingly.

• Maintain list of commissions and boards; receive applications for membership on boards and commission; publish notices for vacancies; process applications for Council selection; notify applicants of results.

• Assist City Manager in responding to various inquires related to city operations, policies, and programs.

• Serve as financial disclosure officer for Fair Political Practices Commission for campaign disclosure forms and statement of economic interest.

• Represent the department to outside agencies and organizations; participate in outside community and professional groups and committees; provide technical assistance as necessary.

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other city employees and the public using principles of good customer service.

• Process Worker’s Compensation Claims and coordinate other confidential HR-related activities.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

CC-

• Appointed by the City Council.

• Receives general direction from the City Manager on an as need basis.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Director of Finance located in Boulder Creek, CA. The Director of Finance supervises, oversees and manages the activities and operations of the Finance Department including financial reporting, general accounting, purchasing, warehousing and inventory control; budget preparation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, debt administration, revenue management, administration of invested funds and performs other related duties as required.

The AB 617 Principal Environmental Planner will join a high performing and motivated team of professionals who work in deep partnership with the communities most impacted by air pollution. You will work to support community steering committees and other community partners determine how to best improve air quality and reduce health disparities while centering equity and addressing environmental justice. To be successful in this role, you must be a strong team player, have strong communication, project management and analytical skills, and be able to work with people of varied backgrounds and perspectives, including low-income communities of color and communities overburdened by air pollution. The California Children's Services (CCS) Medical Therapy Unit (MTU) is seeking a Full-Time Physical Therapist to provide a full range of physical therapy treatments/services to children with physical disabilities from birth to 21 years at special education sites. The children have chronic neuromuscular conditions, such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, traumatic brain injury and muscular dystrophy. The incumbents will be working on an interdisciplinary team with parents and other professionals. This is a unique opportunity to work in a friendly and cooperative team environment based at Medical Therapy Units in San Mateo and San Bruno.
 
The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited physical therapy curriculum and has at least one year of experience working in pediatrics, with neurological and orthopedic conditions. The ideal candidate is licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California; has experience working with children of all ages; and is able to use an electronic medical record system. Physical therapists without pediatric experience and/or new graduates are encouraged to apply. Lastly, the ideal candidate would be interested in expanding their knowledge regarding therapy intervention and treatment for various diseases.
 
Physical Therapist I, CCS ($45.61 - $57.03 / Hourly) is the entry level class in this series. Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform the full range of general therapy treatments while developing and learning the skills to apply more advanced and/or specialized treatments. This class is flexibly staffed with Physical Therapist II, CCS and incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications of the higher level class.
 
Physical Therapist II, CCS ($51.12 - $63.90/ Hourly) is the experienced journey level class in this series. Incumbents in this class perform the full range of general therapy treatments with a greater degree of independence and proficiency, additionally applying more specialized and advanced therapy treatments. Staff may also provide technical advice and training to less experienced staff.

Licensure/Certification:

THE POSITION: The City Manager’s Office at the City of San Mateo has an opportunity for an intern to work on a number of projects. The Department, which has program managers that work on Sustainability, Volunteering, Economic Development, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Communications, work on special projects directed by the City Manager and Assistant City Manager. The Student Intern will receive primary supervision from the Department Head, and project specific direction from the supervisor/manager primarily responsible for each specific project. • Program Improvement. Research and prepare findings reports on the effectiveness of our volunteer and ESL City Government Academy programs. Identify best practices and ways to improve both programs to attract and retain more volunteers and participants.
• Age-Friendly Business Certification. Assist in administering a pilot program to promote and inform businesses about the City’s Age-Friendly Business program and certify businesses as “age-friendly”.
• Event Support Assistance. Provide on-site support to help special community events with registration, attendee questions, event setup and other work as needed.
• Emergency Preparedness Planning. Assist in the Citywide effort to plan and prepare for natural disasters, public health emergencies, and other emergencies impacting the community or region.
In addition, the intern may work on a variety of other projects depending upon their time and interests.

The City of Foster City is looking for a dedicated and responsible individual to join the Police Department as a Senior Community Services Officer. This position requires mature judgement and discretion and is given specialized training. We are seeking highly skilled individuals with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Under general supervision, this position supplements administrative staff and provides support for sworn staff in police operations. There are four main assignment areas for the position, but currently there is only one vacancy in Property/Evidence.

Property/Evidence Assignment
Maintain and manage property and evidence of the department, including maintaining the property / evidence rooms; receive, collect, catalogue, store, handle and transport evidence; reviews files on case-by-base basis for disposition in accordance with Penal Codes and Law; assist in providing training to officers on proper packaging of evidence; prepare basic police reports, compile complex information; manage equipment inventory, provide information, telephone and front counter service, order and maintain evidence supplies and necessary equipment, perform payroll data input and payroll preparation/coordination, and other duties as assigned.

Education and Training Guidelines:
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way would be:

Education:  A high school diploma or equivalent with courses in office administration or specialized job training, with undergraduate college course work, specialized administrative or law enforcement education and/or training. An associate degree is desirable.

Experience:  Two (2) years of full-time experience using computers, telephones, radios and other modern office equipment and programs including preparing, compiling and distributing records, budgets, reports and statistical information. Prior experience in Property/Evidence is desirable.

Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License and a good driving record.

Special Requirements
Ability to provide effective service and technical support; ability to learn all assignments; ability to sit for long periods of time, stoop, squat, lift and carry small boxes, supplies and equipment up to 25 lbs.; ability to remain calm and courteous in stressful situations, possess stamina for high workload periods, high profile projects and tight deadlines; coordinate and communicate with a wide range of people, effectively disseminate information and analyze relevant data; flexibility to work irregular hours and overtime as necessary; handle multiple priorities and respond to urgent requests; provide community service in a polite and courteous manner.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. The list will remain in effect for at least one year unless exhausted sooner. 

The department will invite the most qualified candidates from the eligibility list to a final department interview. Applicants selected for a Departmental interview must complete a background investigation which includes a polygraph and fingerprinting. After a conditional job offer, applicants must also complete a psychological examination and pre-employment medical examination.
