About The Position:

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list for the position of Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Sheriff’s perform a wide variety of patrol officer and related duties required to effectively respond to and resolve the normal scope of peace situations, including the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, criminal investigation, report writing, crime prevention and suppression, case preparation and testimony, and providing information and assistance to the public and perform related duties as assigned. The Controller's Office of the County of San Mateo seeks applicants with experience in internal auditing, risk assessment, and business process analysis for the mid-level position of Internal Auditor II.

THE CONTROLLER'S OFFICE

The Controller's Office mission is to promote the County's operational effectiveness and ensure its financial transparency and integrity by providing quality accounting, audit, and financial reporting services.

THE INTERNAL AUDIT DIVISION

The Division works to help safeguard County assets and reduce risks. This is accomplished by conducting independent operations and internal control audits to assist County management to improve operations and reduce risks related to County’s programs, functions, and information systems. Audits are conducted in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) guidelines.

The qualified candidate will have:

• A four-year degree or an advanced degree from an accredited college or university, with a major or concentration in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Internal Audit certificates (highly desirable).
• A minimum of two years of responsible professional experience conducting complex audits, compliance reviews, and internal control assessments in accordance with professional auditing standards.
• Experience in the application of auditing and accounting principles and best practices in operational and business process analysis.
• Experience in performing audits of information (IT) systems and related processes.
• The ability to perform well when working independently and in teams.
• The ability to complete audit projects independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent research skills.
• The ability to work on several projects simultaneously with minimal direction or oversight.
• A desire to constantly learn about the County departments’ various functions and the services provided.
• The ability to interact with the public, staff, and management on all levels in a professional and effective manner.
• Experience in information systems and software applications such as the Microsoft applications, ACL for data analysis, TeamMate for auditing, Monarch, etc.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the completion of audit projects independently and with a team.
• Performing risk assessments of operations, business processes/procedures, and internal controls.
• Identifying and communicating issues and developing recommended internal control procedures and solutions to address business risks and improve operational effectiveness.
• Ensuring audit findings, analysis, and recommendations are well supported with proper documentation and evidence.
• Following up with auditees and others to ensure assigned audits and projects stay on track and requested information and documents are provided in a timely manner.
• Developing audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risks and testing objectives.
• Developing effective working relationships with auditees.
• Preparing well-written audit reports and other communications in an accurate, clear and concise manner.

Internal Auditor II: Two years of financial auditing experience.

The City of Sunnyvale is searching for a Budget Manager in the Department of Finance. The Budget Manager is a division-level manager responsible for developing, administering, and overseeing the City's sophisticated Operating and Capital Budgets and Twenty-Year Financial Plans. This position participates in the development of the City's financial systems, conducts and presents complex financial information and analysis to executive management and others to assist in policy decision making. This classification receives administrative direction from the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance and exercises direct supervision over management, professional, technical and clerical staff in the Budget Division.

Under direction, the Custodian performs routine manual cleaning tasks in public buildings, schools, other facilities, and surrounding areas.

This position prepares hot and cold food for inmates; supervises and instructs inmates in the preparation and serving of meals to other inmates in a detention facility; receives, stores, and maintains ingredients used for meals; and monitors and maintains security of the kitchen facility, equipment, and inmate workers. • Prepares or supervises the preparation of special meals for inmates with medical problems.

The Controller's Office is currently seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Payroll Personnel Coordinator IV - Confidential.

The Controller's Office maintains the County’s financial systems and records, and prepares independently audited, award-winning annual financial reports that disclose the financial condition of the County to the public. We are staffed with 51 full-time accounting, audit, and information systems professionals. The office also calculates annual property tax bill amounts, distribute taxes collected to local government agencies, performs internal audits of County’s operations, and provides payroll services for the County's workforce.

Under general supervision, provides technical and specialized payroll and/or personnel-related support to a large and complex County department and/or division(s) or perform payroll and/or personnel-related functions at a Countywide level with responsibilities for reviewing, correcting and instructing the work of other Coordinators; coordinate human resources, payroll and/or timekeeping processes; maintain personnel-related records; provide information to management and employees regarding payroll and personnel-related matters; and perform related work as required.

Distinguishing Characteristics

Payroll/Personnel Coordinator IV is the lead or specialist level class in the Payroll/Personnel Coordinator series. This level is distinguished from the Payroll/Personnel Coordinator III in that the former is assigned to larger County departments with 24/7 operations, various locations, programs, and shifts or in central Human Resources or Controller's Office. At this level, work requires the analysis of unusual circumstances, understanding and proper application of complex and multiple labor contract provisions and assessing a variety of approaches to finding solutions. Actions to be taken or responses to be made differ in such things as the source of information, the kind of transaction or scenario, the type of employee and his/her eligibility for labor contract provisions. Positions at central HR and Controller's Office provide lead, guidance, and instructions to other departmental Coordinators.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in Human Recourses and the Payroll System (Workday) and timekeeping system (Infor Workforce Management aka ATKS).
