The City of Simi Valley/ Waterworks District No. 8,  Water Division, is seeking to fill an Associate Engineer position.  The Associate Engineer is expected to design, prepare plans using the latest version of AutoCAD, specifications and construction cost estimates for a variety of water infrastructure improvement projects.  Such projects include water main line replacement, water tank rehabilitation and repair, and pump station upgrades.  Other duties include assessing the feasibility of water service for proposed developments, ability to utilize GIS and provide excellent customer service.

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Human Resources Intern to join our team for a 3- or 6-month internship!  This is a great opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources and eager to gain hands-on experience in a public sector environment. The internship will be approximately 15-20 hours per week and includes flexible scheduling options to balance other commitments, such as school. 

Primary Responsibilities 

The HR Intern will provide support to the HR department and assist with the following: 

• Recruitment – posting job openings, screening applications, and coordinating and preparing materials for interviews 

• New Hire Onboarding and Orientation – sending offer letters and onboarding packets, collecting information for enrollment, drafting communications 

• Document Management – maintaining employee records, updating databases and files, and entering data 

• Digital Transformation – the conversion of physical records and forms to electronic format 

• HR Analysis – conducting research and analysis on HR-related topics, creating reports and summarizing findings 

• Talent Development and Training – setting up training initiatives and assignments, assigning courses, managing rosters, updating employee files

The City of Simi Valley is recruiting for two Assistant Public Works Directors as a result of one retirement and the establishment of a second Assistant Director position. The City is currently accepting applications to fill several part-time, hourly positions to work in the theatres at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center.  Under the direction of the Technical Supervisors and the theatre department leads, the Stagehands assist with a variety of tasks related to theatre operations and maintenance.  The schedule will involve working up to 19 hours per week, depending on assignment.  The schedule includes working nights, weekends, and holidays.  On occasion, the position may involve working additional hours in a week.

Primary responsibilities:  

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of theatre sound, lighting, and/or rigging systems during rehearsals, performances, concerts, and meetings
• Assist in loading, unloading, fabrication, installation, and operation of lighting, sound, wardrobe and rigging systems and manipulation of props in theatrical settings
• Perform heavy manual labor
