We currently have one opening at the Windsor Regional Library and are also accepting applications for the Central Santa Rosa Library, Cloverdale Regional Library and Healdsburg Regional Library. Candidates who successfully complete the interview process will also be considered for other vacancies that may arise in the next six months.
 

THE POSITION: 
This non-benefitted position performs sorting, shelving and straightening, and related manual work in support of library services. Please see the attached job specifications for full details about this position. Spanish bilingual skills desired. TYPICAL TASKS include, but are not limited to: 

• Sorts and shelves various types of library materials; maintains shelves in proper order and appearance (e.g. shelf facing).
• Shelf reads and corrects sorting errors on bookshelves; relocates library materials as required.
• Retrieves library materials from book drops or other deposit areas.
• Keeps library premises clean and in good order, collects loose books and materials, and performs item counting for check out statistics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Demonstrated ability to read and the ability to file or learn to file alphabetically and numerically.  At least 16 years old, and the ability to obtain a work permit if required. Spanish bilingual skills desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Incumbents must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items, storage containers, and shelving units weighing an average of 20 pounds, and up to 50 pounds of weight, in order to move materials from one place to another, with the aid of lifting/moving equipment.
 
SALARY RANGE:               $18.08/hour

The City of East Palo Alto is seeking qualified candidates for a Building Inspector I/II. Under direct or general supervision, the Building Inspector I/II performs routine to complex inspections at various stages of construction, alterations, and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial building sites to enforce building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and environmental codes, and other governing laws and ordinances. Inspections include basic zoning, grading, fire, and safety regulations to ensure conformance with approved plans, specifications, standards, permits, licensing, and safety standards.

The Building Inspector I/II provides a variety of information to property owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors; and performs related duties, as assigned. The Building Inspector II differs from the level I in that is the advanced level classification in the Building Inspector series. The Building Inspector II provides a high level of discretion and independent judgment in performing the full range of routine to complex inspections. Work is normally reviewed upon completion and for overall results. Incumbents also provide lead direction and functional supervision to assigned clerical, technical, and professional staff. The Risk Management Program Manager (Program Manager), reporting to the Deputy Director of Human Resources/ Risk Manager, will oversee the following three programs:

• Leaves of Absence program for managing and monitoring the administration of claims for leave of absence.

Examples Of Duties

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plan, direct, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of the ADA Title I, Leave of Absence, and Workers' Compensation functions and programs, including needs assessment, program design and planning, implementation, evaluation, and regulatory enforcement.
• Write and review policies, procedures, and methods relative to ADA Title I, Leave of Absence, and Workers' Compensation and formulate, recommend, and/or implement actions for program improvement.
• Meet with department managers and staff on human resource issues regarding ADA Title I, Leave of Absence, Workers' Compensation, and insurance related matters.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.

• A typical way to qualify is three years of progressively responsible professional-level experience in the field of Human Resources within a public-sector environment, specifically regarding ADA in general and Title I specifically, Leave of Absence, Workers' Compensation, and insurance policies.
• Experience should also include at least one year performing supervisory duties.

Knowledge of:

• Principles and practices of public administration, and program management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Principles, theories, and practices of human resource management relative to the Americans with Disabilities Act, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, Long-Term Disability, etc.
• Public-sector insurance practices and policies.

We are seeking a customer service driven professional with excellent communication skills to join our team as an Adult Literacy Associate. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a group of dedicated professionals who are helping to change the literacy landscape in Sonoma County. Under direction of the Adult Services Administrator and the Supervising Literacy Program Coordinator, this position coordinates and administers tutor services for the Adult Literacy Services Program (ALS), recruits and provides orientations, training and in-service workshops to tutors for various adult literacy programs, and provides on-going coaching and support for tutors.
 
TYPICAL TASKS include, but are not limited to:

• Organizes, conducts and evaluates orientations, trainings and in-service workshops for tutors of adult learners; organizes conversation classes and determines the schedule and use of the student computer. 
• Recruits, selects, supervises, supports and encourages tutors; plans and implements methods to both recruit and retain tutors.
• Provides tutors with all instructional resources and materials needed to work with the student and provides ongoing support to the tutor for the duration of their service.

Generally, this would be achieved by two (2) years of administrative or programmatic experience including one year of library or literacy experience.  Experience working with adults in an educational setting. Spanish bilingual skills preferred.

The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Principal Staff Specialist in the Strategic Incentives Division (SI) Division. This is an open recruitment for one (1) full-time, represented position.

The Strategic Incentives Division supports the Air District’s mission by implementing incentive programs (grant programs) that achieve voluntary reductions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases, primarily from on- and off-road vehicles and equipment that operate in the Air District’s jurisdiction. In 2023-2024, the SI Division is administering more than $90 million in new revenue to fund programs and projects that replace older diesel-fueled vehicles and equipment such as school and transit buses, marine vessels, locomotives, trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, and other mobile equipment, with newer, cleaner alternatives, including zero-emission technologies, and install refueling/charging infrastructure that supports the accelerated adoption of zero-emissions vehicles and equipment. Other programs administered support the reduction of single-occupancy vehicle, provide cash and mobility options to residents for turning in their older vehicles, and provide grants to reduce pollution from woodburning devices. The Division develops programs to meet community identified strategies for reducing air quality disparities and that benefit the Bay Area’s most overburdened communities.

About you in the position

The Principal Staff Specialist (AB 617 role) in the SI Division will coordinate the division's efforts in bringing greater equity to grant programs through program development, collaboration with other divisions, and engagement with communities under the AB 617 program. With your in-depth knowledge of the Air District’s emission reduction grant programs, you will lead the division's participation in internal and external AB 617 engagement, including communicating the role of the division; analyzing, reporting, and presenting information about air quality improvement incentive programs and mobile sources, participating in community meetings, proposing and guiding discussions on incentive-related emission reduction strategies and actions, developing plans/programs to implement action, and soliciting feedback on strategy implementation. Examples of other tasks include preparing written materials related to grant programs, reports and plans; proposing recommendations for updates to current incentive programs; developing and supporting the development of new programs; assessing impacts of regulatory actions on mobile source categories; presenting to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders; and leading and training staff. THE POSITION

Tri-City is currently hiring to fill one full-time vacancy for the position of Peer Support Specialist I/II (PSS) within the Adult Outpatient (AOP) Department. The PSS position provides peer to peer support services in the office and/or in the field including, but not limited to outreach, support, encouragement, guidance, advocacy, and referrals to external resources and services for clients and their families; builds rapport with clients and their families through sharing stories of lived experience and recovery.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Encourages and supports clients to fully engage in services; provides outreach and assists clients in addressing and overcoming barriers to treatment.

• Provides resources and referrals to address basic needs and other barriers to wellness and recovery including food, housing, clothing, transportation, and other financial resources.

• Assists clients with setting, implementing, and tracking wellness and recovery goals; develops individual Wellness and Recovery Action Plans (WRAP); models and shares effective coping strategies.

• Assists clients and families to understand behavioral health problems and steps to recovery.
