We are looking for an Active Transportation Planner to help the City of Sunnyvale to implement and improve bicycle, pedestrian and Safe Routes to School infrastructure and programs. This position will perform professional transportation planning and general design in bicycle, pedestrian and automobile integration, the use of different types of bicycle facilities and alternative modes of transportation.

The position will have a primary focus on the implementation, reporting and further development of the City’s active transportation network and programs. This will include public outreach, coordination with various departments, and other governmental agencies.

The Behavioral Health Clinician I/II performs a variety of professional duties in the provision of outpatient and crisis behavioral health services to individuals and groups. This person will work with complex casework which may include clinics, criminal justice, adult services, youth and family services, and other mental health settings where they may be asked to  respond to crisis situations, work with case managers and psychiatrists in treatment teams and be familiar with various treatment modalities to ensure clients are in appropriate treatment services. The position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

JOB DUTIES

• Provides professional mental health outpatient evaluation, consultation, and treatment services to individuals and groups.
• Performs client intake procedures.
• Provides individual, group, and family counseling on a variety of mental health problems and substance use disorders; develops treatment plans; provides follow-up counseling and assists clients with the resolution of problems.
• Observes clients on-site at schools, etc., as necessary; conducts home visits as necessary. Consults with psychiatrist and other clinical staff about treatment planning for clients.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is currently hiring to fill one full time vacancy for a bilingual Office Specialist. The Office Specialist provides difficult, complex, and specialized administrative support to assigned departmental projects and programs; develops, summarizes, and maintains administrative and financial records; types, edits, processes, distributes, and files a variety of documents; enters data and information into various databases and computer systems; and performs related duties as assigned.

This position will perform the following essential duties, including, but not limited to:

• Performs technical and procedural work in support for an assigned department, division, or program; applies technical procedures, methods, and techniques to support program and functions and processes; monitors and explains operational and program requirements and processes to various stakeholders.

• Inputs, updates, tracks, and extracts information into appropriate databases and billing systems; searches records and files for data.

• Under the supervision of Medication Support Team manager or assigned designee, candidate will be responsible for scheduling all Initial Medication Evaluations, as well as keeping count of number of IME’s scheduled, attempts made, rescheduling, removal of candidates and all necessary functions related to the scheduling of IME, including documentation of action taken per Electronic Health Record.

• Completion of all Pharmacy requisitions and flex funds as indicated on a monthly basis.

• Under the Supervision of Medical Director-Compile Weekly Initial Medical Eval Reports, Monthly IME reports, blocking of all MD schedules including for vacations, trainings and meetings.

Plans Examiner I:

The Plans Examiner I is the entry-level class in the Plans Examiner series. This classification is distinguished from the level II by the assignment and performance of the more routine and elementary plan review duties, and level of supervision received.

Plans Examiner II:

The Plans Examiner II is the journey-level class in the Plans Examiner series. The classification is distinguished from the Senior Building Plans Examiner by the assignment and performance of a broad range of plan review duties, the level of independence to operate and level of supervision received.

Senior Plans Examiner:

The Senior Plans Examiner is the advanced, journey-level class in the Plans Examiner series. This classification is distinguished from the level II by the ability to perform the full range of plan review duties, the level of independence to operate and make sound decisions with minimal supervision, and the authority to oversee plan review activities and approve compliant building plans.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Plans Examiner I:

Receives immediate supervision from the Building Official and may receive technical and functional supervision from the Senior Plans Examiner.

Senior Plans Examiner:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Examines construction plans and related documents for proposed commercial, industrial and residential structures for compliance with codes and ordinances including structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and energy calculations, safety and health features, use of material, placements in the property, and setbacks.

• Identifies and makes recommendations for corrections to inadequate plans in order to meet required codes.

• Responds to routine building plan issues and complaints to determine compliance with codes and standards.

• Determine plan examination, permit and other fees and valuation on submitted plans.

• Assists with the resolution of routine problems of proposed projects.

• Coordinates with other departments on project requirements.

• May perform field investigations of structural problems, covering failures, instability, proper installation of unusual designs, materials or equipment, and other unsafe conditions; prepares reports and make recommendations on solutions.

• Responds to questions from the public and other departments, and assists with researching and finding requested construction documents.

• Explains disapprovals or modification recommendations to applicants for permits.

• Assists building permit applicants in completing applications.

• Assists with developing informational literature related to plan check requirements and processing for public distribution.

• Establishes positive working relationships with representatives of community organizations, state/local agencies and associations, City management, City staff and the public.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position requires acute hearing and both near and far vision while performing work including customer interactions, reading and inspecting plans, electronic or physical documents, field work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, drag, carry and push documents, equipment and supplies weighing 50 pounds or more is required. Additionally, the incumbent in this position periodically works in all weather conditions, including wet, hot and cold. The position entails working in situations that may expose the employee to fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock or mechanical hazards. The nature of the work requires the incumbent to drive motorized vehicles, operate in heavy vehicle traffic conditions, climb ladders and often work with constant interruptions.

THE JOB

The Executive Director will serve as a visionary leader for the organization and is responsible for coordinating and expanding various mental health services, ensuring team members are meeting desirable outcomes and providing excellence in service to the communities. They will direct the development of organization-wide goals, policies, and procedures and keep the Governing Board aware of financial conditions, program progress, and the organization’s needs. This job requires financial savvy and organizational development expertise. Implementing strategic plans is essential for this role, as it involves spearheading innovative change. Under general supervision, an Employee Assistance Counselor provides clinical assessment, short-term counseling and referral of City and County employees experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems, such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional concerns or relationship issues. A Counselor conducts seminars, trainings, and consultations on issues related to personal and organizational wellness; prepares records and reports; and performs related duties as required.

1. Provides clinical assessment, short-term counseling and referral services to employees of the City and County who are experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems, such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional concerns or relationship issues; provides counseling of family members and significant others as appropriate.

Read Santa Clara’s adult literacy program serves adults who seek to strengthen their basic literacy skills to achieve their goals as family members, workers, community members and lifelong learners.

The Position:

The Literacy Technology Assistant helps Read Santa Clara's adult learners gain basic digital literacy skills. The person helps adult learners 1:1 or in small groups learn how to use the literacy program's laptops and iPads as well as how to use literacy software on their own devices. The Literacy Technology Assistant may also be called on to support volunteer tutors or Read Santa Clara staff, as the need arises. The Literacy Technology Assistant is a patient, empathetic individual, who can teach basic technology skills to adults who have little or no digital literacy skills.

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

THE POSITION:

Under the general supervision of the Youth & Family Services Clinical Supervisor and the Community Services Manager, the Intervention Counselor provides crisis intervention, individual and family counseling; identifies appropriate referral services to youth, families and individuals.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:

Intervention Counselor is a journey-level professional classification. Incumbents perform the full range of counseling duties within the Community Services division. Incumbents in this position receive occasional instruction as new or unusual situations arise. The Intervention Counselor is distinguished from the Clinical Supervisor in that the latter is responsible for overseeing clinical work, providing direct supervision to clinical staff and interns, responsible for ensuring counselors follow professional guidelines, establishes processes and procedures for the clinical side of the division, researches and provides appropriate training, and is the primary liaison with the school district and police department in regard to referrals, counseling, and crisis support. While the Intervention Counselor provides direct counseling, run group counseling and workshops, and provides intervention services and supportive tools and resources to clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following: 

• Provide individual, family and group counseling to children, adolescents, and adults using a variety of therapeutic and counseling techniques. 
• Provide crisis intervention services around a variety of issues including: incorrigible youth/status offenders, child/adult abuse, domestic violence, trauma, individuals experiencing mental health issues, and families in conflict; may conduct visits at homes, schools, and juvenile detention centers. 
• Conduct assessments to identify appropriate resources, provide referral services and connect clients with additional services as needed.
• May receive, process and track all incoming case management, outreach, and counseling referrals as needed.
• Represent the City of Union City in the name of AC Probation, Centro de Servicios, Tiburcio Vazquez, Malabar House/Eden Counseling Services, NHUSD school administrators – principals, teachers, student services staff, UC Family Center,  Fremont Resource Center, (Fresh Lives for Youth (FLY), Filipinos  Advocates For Justice (FAFJ), MidPen Housing, Bay Area Community Health (BACH),  Safe Alternatives To Violent Environments (SAVE) to continue to develop and maintain relationships with these social welfare agencies and organizations. 
• Prepare and give presentations to youth, parents and community members.
• Conduct outreach to promote programs and services.
• Generate and maintain appropriate records, client files, and accurate statistical/monthly reports.
• Participate in weekly and monthly department and community meetings, trainings, and workshops as necessary.
