The City of Marysville is hiring for a total of 1 Engineer position, and create an Employment List.

Performs advanced firefighting and rescue activities; operates and maintains the entire range of Fire Department vehicles, apparatus, equipment, and facilities; drives large fire apparatus in various traffic conditions; provides emergency medical and rescue services to the community; and performs related duties and responsibilities as required. The Fire Engineer receives direct supervision from the Fire Captain. This classification may be assigned temporary command of a fire station and may exercise functional supervision over staff during the assigned shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is conducted both in a fire station and in the field in various settings. Some of these include exposure to smoke, odors, heat, steam, fumes, and dust, as well as periodic exposure to dangerous or life-threatening situations. Work involves irregular hours during days and evenings, on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

This Internship is offered as part of a Regional Internship Partnership to introduce and encourage new graduates to local municipal governments. Job Description: 

The intern’s workload will be a balance of assisting in daily municipal operations and special projects. The position will serve as a regular staff member and will receive assignments and work direction from the Community Services Supervisor. JOB SUMMARY: The Facilities Technician reports to the Assistant Manager, Facilities and is responsible for providing building maintenance services at the District facilities in accordance with established standards and procedures.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on all facilities according to manufacturers’ specifications and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Perform basic facility repairs including painting, carpentry, plumbing, heating and cooling (HVAC), hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Complete daily work orders in a timely fashion in accordance with District standards.
• Respond to facility-related emergencies 24/7 during assigned periods in rotation.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
• Perform scheduled maintenance, provide emergency response services and make repairs, and repair tools and equipment and monitor building maintenance contracts.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are recorded, organized, and complete. Records must be readily available for reference, audit, and quality control.
• Collaborate with District departments to obtain work scope information, discuss options, collect job details and estimate labor and material costs relating to work order.
• Inspect and report on functional operation of buildings, grounds and related facility systems including: heating and cooling systems, fueling and lubrication systems, storm, plumbing, potable water, sewer and industrial waste systems, fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems, electrical power and lighting systems, in-ground hydraulic lift systems, bus parking designation markings, roofing systems, bus exhaust evacuation systems, roll up access doors and roll up fire doors, and environmental protection systems.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of maintenance tasks performed and status of District facilities.
• Develop and maintain a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools.
• Maintain open communications with other departments; develop and maintain effective internal relationships. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Must participate in weekend and holiday on-call rotation.
• Safely operate a variety of maintenance vehicles.
• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect one’s self, fellow employees and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION: Works under the general supervision of the Assistant Manager, Facilities, who establishes goals and objectives and evaluates performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Three (3) years full-time industrial building/facility maintenance experience, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
• Must have valid California driver’s license with a safe driving record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• General experience troubleshooting electrical systems, heating and cooling (HVAC) systems, plumbing, and hydraulic systems.
• Able to work safely in different kinds of weather conditions and workspace environments.
• Able to safely lift 50lbs and climb/work on ladders and other equipment.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting an undergraduate or graduate-level City Administration College Intern for the summer of 2024. THE POSITION: 

The City of San Pablo is actively recruiting for a Community Services Coordinator I/II position to plan, organize, and direct services and programs within the Community Services Department for our senior population, volunteer programs and city-wide special events. Our senior programs provide opportunities for adults 50 years of age and older, to engage in active and healthy programming. The Church Lane Senior Center hosts a congregate lunch program, numerous senior focused special events, weekday door-to-door transportation service (managed by a different full-time coordinator) and drop- in programs and classes. The city hosts 10-12 city-wide special events each year that include family dances, spring egg hunt, Cinco de Mayo celebration, Movies Under the Stars, 4th of July Multi-Cultural celebration, Halloween, Veterans Day and a Winter Wonderland Festival. T he Analyst I/II is an onsite position l ocated at Fire Administration in the Office of the Fire Chief (OFC) which reports directly to the Safety Program Manager. The OFC oversees and supports all organizational divisions including five distinct bureaus: Administrative Services, Support Services, Fire Prevention, Emergency Medical Services and Training, and Field Operations; and the Fire Communications Division. The Safety Program Manager oversees the Department's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Workers' Compensation, Health and Wellness and supports the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team.

The Analyst I/II position will primarily oversee the Workers' Compensation functions, acting as the liaison between injured employees, the Department, and the Workers' Compensation third-party administrator. In addition to Workers' Compensation, the Analyst I/ II is responsible fo r supporting other critical administrative functions as assigned.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure Workers' Compensation claims are submitted within required timelines and act as the Department Liaison to the City's third-party Workers' Compensation administrator.
• Maintain contact with injured employees, ensure the Department has current, updated work statuses for each employee and update the Department's internal staffing tool to ensure employee work statuses are accurately reflected.
• Coordinate the return of employees to work in either a modified duty or regular duty capacity with all involved Department bureaus.
• Act as the Department Liaison with the City's Disability Retirement Committee and Human Resources Workers' Compensation Division, including attendance at monthly meetings.
• Maintain internal recordkeeping and spreadsheets for Supervisor's Accident Investigation Reports (SAIR), Annual Physicals, OSHA 300A Logs, Conversion Sheets for compliance of pay period hours, and Modified Duty and Disability statuses as well as manage personnel records and retention schedules.
