The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking an Asset Manager to provide professional, technical and administrative asset management duties in support of a portfolio of Agency owned assets. The Asset Manager ensures compliance with programmatic and financial regulations, oversees property operations, and works with property management to ensure the physical, financial and social well-being of affordable housing assets.  The Asset Management Division, along with the Real Estate Development Division, are part of SCCHA’s Real Estate Department.  The team working in Real Estate is mission oriented, dynamic and collaborative. In general, Mail Services Drivers sort and deliver County and United States mail; operate, adjust, monitor, and maintain mail processing and related equipment; and perform a wide variety of complex and specialized tasks related to the receipt and delivery of mail.
 
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Sort mail, flats, packages, and other materials according to various categories.
• Prepare mail, packages, flats, and other materials for delivery by bundling, wrapping, and weighing.
• Operate mail processing machines such as inserters, postage metering machines, and bundling machines.
• Arrange service and repair calls.
• Maintain records of production and provide information for billing purposes.
• Deliver and pick up mail, packages, freight, and other materials to and from various County agencies and offices on foot or by motor vehicle on established routes and time schedules. 
• Lift and carry heavy packages and move mail and other items using hand trucks or other moving equipment.
• Receive and deliver locked money bags between County departments and monitor related records.
• Maintain working and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Allocate the cost of metered mail to County budget cost centers.

THE POSITION

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of activities in the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems and related equipment within City facilities; performs related work as required. An example of duties are:

• Performs daily inspection and preventive maintenance of the City’s irrigation systems; identifies any safety or repair issues.
• Installs, maintains and repairs irrigation systems; changes and adjusts sprinkler heads and maintains controllers; performs repairs on field irrigation computers, controllers, pumps, wiring, valves, pipes, and sprinklers.
• Monitors soil moisture and effectiveness of irrigation systems.
• Installs backflow devices; inspects and tests as necessary to ensure proper operation; certifies devices in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitors and controls computerized irrigation systems.
• Works effectively with contractors on City-approved irrigation projects; seeks bids and/or estimates for proposed projects.
• Identifies, schedules, and supervises system repairs and installation of new irrigation systems; reviews plans and inspects installation of new irrigation systems; performs annual testing of systems.
• Performs Underground Service Alert (USA) markings as specified and according to accepted guidelines and requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of responsible landscape/irrigation, public works or parks maintenance experience, including experience in design and/or maintenance of irrigation systems

License Requirements:

• A valid California Class C driver license or higher with a satisfactory driving record is required at the time of appointment. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-to-case basis.
• A Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certificate issued by the International Municipal Signal Association (I.M.S.A.), or successful completion of the Traffic Control Technician-CA State Specific Training Course thru the American Traffic Safety Services Association is required within twelve (12) months of appointment.
• A certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor certificate is desirable.

This position will perform a variety of responsible law enforcement and crime prevention work, including patrolling assigned areas, answering calls and complaints, investigating crimes, serving civil papers, and providing court room security; enforce all federal and state laws and local ordinances related to public safety and welfare.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
