About the Division

About the Role

The newly created Community Services Division Director position is an exciting and unique opportunity to build a new division of the City of San Rafael.

The Community Services Division Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the City of San Rafael's efforts to address critical social issues, particularly focusing on homelessness at this time.  Reporting directly to the Assistant City Manager, the Division Director will oversee and develop the newly created Community Services Division, ensuring the effective development and implementation of programs that improve the quality of life for residents in need.

In this role, the Division Director will manage a broad range of responsibilities, from strategic planning and policy development to budget management and interdepartmental and interagency coordination. They will be a key liaison between the City and  our County partners, and various other stakeholders, including public agencies, community organizations, and residents. Their work will involve close collaboration with other City departments, public and private partners, and community groups to advance initiatives that address homelessness and related services.

In their first year, they’ll work to develop the City’s first homelessness strategic plan, setting priorities and policies to guide the City’s work in this space for the next five years.

One of the key, immediate priorities the Division Director will oversee is the implementation of the City’s $6M Encampment Resolution Fund Grant. This includes leading the contractor and staff team operating the City’s planned Sanctioned Camping Program and spearheading the identification of a site for a future interim shelter and/or transitional housing. In addition, they’ll also coordinate the implementation of the City’s Camping on Public Property ordinance.

The Community Services Division Director will directly and indirectly lead a dedicated team, guiding their efforts to deliver high-quality services that meet and respond to the needs of the community. The Division Director will also be responsible for securing and managing funding, developing and maintaining partnerships, and ensuring that the Division's programs are both effective and sustainable. The Big Lift, a collective impact initiative that seeks to increase kindergarten readiness and improve third grade reading proficiency in San Mateo County, is recruiting to fill one Intern Fellow II vacancy.
 
The County of San Mateo’s Human Services Agency serves as the initiatives “Backbone Agency”. THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Program (AOP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. 

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

What You’ll Do

The Community Services Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the leisure, cultural, and human services activities of the Division and providing highly responsible professional and technical staff assistance. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Plan, organize, coordinate and direct the work of subordinates in developing and implementing a broad and diversified community recreation and human services program.
• Participate as a member of the community-based network of Human Services Agencies.
• Develop and implement changes in staffing, goals, objectives, policies and procedures to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
• Develop programs of service to meet community needs including plans for efficient and economical use of labor, buildings, equipment and materials.

The City of Lincoln is accepting applications for the position of Refuse Truck Driver II in the Solid Waste division of the Public Works department. Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of tasks in the collection of residential, commercial and industrial solid waste refuse; drive and operate refuse collection vehicles; organize, assign and review the work of others and perform other related duties as required.  

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Refuse Truck Driver II

This is a journey level class and is distinguished from the Maintenance Worker I classification by the ability to perform the full range of duties assigned with only occasional instruction or assistance as unusual or unique situations arise. This class is distinguished from the Senior Refuse Truck Diver in that the latter provides technical and functional supervision over assigned staff or division programs and responsibilities.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

Refuse Truck Driver II

Receives general supervision from a Public Works Supervisor. May receive technical and functional supervision from a Senior Refuse Truck Driver.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include but are not limited to the following:

• Drives and operates a variety of collection vehicles and equipment including one or two-person-staffed refuse collection truck, front, rear and side loaders in the collection and transportation of residential and commercial refuse; responds to afterhours call-outs if assigned.
• Maintains assigned truck by regular cleaning and washing, including inspecting for mechanical or other operating problems; reports mechanical or related problems for maintenance; may perform minor maintenance as appropriate.
• Operates hydraulic/mechanical controls to load, compress, and dump refuse; collects and disposes of debris on assigned route; transports refuse to/unload at appropriate landfill sites and/or sewage treatment plant.
• Assists with battery sorting, electronic waste collection, bin repair or delivery, cardboard removal, illegal dumping cleanup, and any other related solid waste program or assignment.
• Completes and posts notification tags on containers, bins and dumpsters for unacceptable contents for refuse collection.
• Prepares, maintains and submits records, reports and forms including time records, equipment and maintenance records, and route maps and logs.
• Responds to questions and concerns from the general public; provides information as is appropriate and resolves public service complaints.
• Establishes positive working relationships with representatives of community organizations, state/local agencies, City management and staff and the public.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, pesticides or herbicides which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, operate hydraulic aerial devices, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

The following are a representative sample of the KSA’s necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Summary:
Under general supervision, monitors and maintains the District’s central reservation system and main­tains schedules for outdoor facilities including fields, parks and picnic areas; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains reservation system for the District comprising of outdoor and indoor spaces; manages mobile staging and equipment to include establishing reservation reschedules, posting schedules online, and providing direct oversight of outdoor space usage.
• Responds to online, telephone and in-person inquiries from the public and co-workers, receives web and paper reservation applications, reviews applications for proper use of space according to District guidelines, determines approval/rejection of applications, notifies applicants of decisions, and files documents for recordkeeping.
• Assists in authorizing permits for private and public entities, reviews permit holder’s evidence of insurance, submits and files insurance forms.
• Accepts payments from permit holders including deposits for space, processes payments for accounting purposes, obtains information on after-use condition of facilities, determines amount of refunds, providing justification as needed if part or all of refund is withheld, and processes deposit refunds as appropriate.
• Accurately processes monetary transactions including credit card transactions, issues receipts, reconciles cash and receipts, and prepares bank deposits.
• Researches, studies and interprets city and District rules and regulations related to use of public facilities, provides expert knowledge of space availability, codes and ordinances to the public on use of facilities.
• Assists with troubleshooting issues related to functionality of reservation software program, receives feedback on reservation system, and proposes modifications to program to enhance user experience.
• Distributes printed and posted material related to reservations in marketing efforts.

• May drive a District or personal vehicle.
• Participates during disasters or when emergency response is needed.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satis­factorily.

Education/Experience: A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: an associate degree from a two-year college and one year of increasingly responsible clerical experience with frequent public contact; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Ability to read, interpret and relay information obtained from documents such as ordinances relating to public use of facilities, understand operating instructions in spoken and written formats, and execute protocols and apply standard procedures per manuals. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms. Ability to write routine reports and interact with the public in a positive manner. Ability to speak Spanish is desirable

Math Ability:Ability to use basic math to perform tasks such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions and decimals, and prepare bank forms.

Certificates and Licenses:

The Position

The City of South San Francisco seeks customer service-oriented individuals to join the Community Resource Team at the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center. This position is shared between the Library Department and Parks and Recreation Department and works under the direction of the Community Resource Analyst. The Community Resource Clerk will typically be stationed at the lobby desks on the first and second floors of the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center at 901 Civic Campus Way in South San Francisco, however, may temporarily be assigned to other sites, or to represent the departments at special events. This position will provide a welcoming presence by greeting members of the public and responding to visitor inquiries to assist with wayfinding in the facility and sharing information about activities in the building as well as city and other local community resources.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is currently hiring to fill one full time vacancy for a bilingual Office Specialist. The Office Specialist provides difficult, complex, and specialized administrative support to assigned departmental projects and programs; develops, summarizes, and maintains administrative and financial records; types, edits, processes, distributes, and files a variety of documents; enters data and information into various databases and computer systems; and performs related duties as assigned.

This position will perform the following essential duties, including, but not limited to:

• Performs technical and procedural work in support for an assigned department, division, or program; applies technical procedures, methods, and techniques to support program and functions and processes; monitors and explains operational and program requirements and processes to various stakeholders.

• Provides information to the public or Authority Staff that requires the use of independent judgment, compliance with laws and interpretation of policies, rules and procedures.

• Greets and provides general information to clients, visitors, vendors, and staff, in person and on the telephone, in a professional manner; schedules appointments and meetings, and maintains calendars; assists clients by referring them to applicable sources of information; distributes applications and forms, and explains how to complete them; answers requests for information by consulting various available sources.

• Verifies and reviews calculations, forms, data, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with established Authority regulations and procedures.

• Types, formats, edits, revises, proofreads, tracks, and prints a variety of narrative, statistical, and technical documents, reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, and other documents and materials.

• Inputs, updates, tracks, and extracts information into appropriate databases and billing systems; searches records and files for data.

• Under the supervision of Medication Support Team manager or assigned designee, candidate will be responsible for scheduling all Initial Medication Evaluations, as well as keeping count of number of IME’s scheduled, attempts made, rescheduling, removal of candidates and all necessary functions related to the scheduling of IME, including documentation of action taken per Electronic Health Record.

• Completion of all Pharmacy requisitions and flex funds as indicated on a monthly basis.

• Under the Supervision of Medical Director-Compile Weekly Initial Medical Eval Reports, Monthly IME reports, blocking of all MD schedules including for vacations, trainings and meetings.

The Department

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem-solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources.

The Position

The Human Services Specialist (Family Partner) will work as part of a team with counselors and case managers to provide services to parents and their children in Fremont, Newark and Union City. The incumbent will provide peer support and assist families in navigating systems and accessing needed services while promoting independence and advocacy skills through a respectful and non-judgmental manner. The Family Partner uses their own personal lived experience and ensures that the family’s perspective is represented in the provision of all services which will be conducted in the child’s home or school, at Youth and Family Services’ clinic located at the Fremont Family Resource Center or in other community settings.

The General Maintenance Worker is essential to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our community spaces. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Field Preparation: Setting up and maintaining sports fields, including mowing, watering, infield grooming, mound/plate repair, edging and chalking the field
• Groundskeeping & Landscaping: General grounds maintenance, such as weeding, fertilizing, watering, pruning, and renovating landscaped areas.
• Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Performing minor repairs on facilities like fences and benches, ensuring all maintenance equipment is in good working order, and utilizing a variety of hand and power tools.
• Cleaning & Waste Management: Cleaning restrooms, emptying garbage cans, and removing weeds and trash from parks and walkways.
• Event & Equipment Support: Assisting with the setup and teardown of events, moving and installing park and recreation equipment, and handling heavy objects related to maintenance.
