Working under close supervision, Employment & Training Worker I is the entry/trainee level in the Employment & Training Worker series. Employees in this class receive in-service training in the performance of routine duties related to the provision of employment services. As requisite skills and knowledge are developed, greater independence and the full scope of responsibility are exercised. Employees are expected to promote to Employment & Training Worker II after one year of satisfactory performance at the trainee level.

• Utilizing Motivational Interviewing techniques, interviews and evaluates eligible program participants' employability to assist participants in achieving self-sufficient employment.Administers and interprets vocational measurement tests.
• Assesses clients' employment and education history; identifies employment related skills, abilities and barriers; develops goals and plans to improve skills and abilities and overcome barriers; provides career guidance and employment and training counseling; provides labor market information related to local employment possibilities; and as appropriate, refers clients to employment related educational and training opportunities.
• Refers clients to other staff members or to community resources for direct and intensive services and specialized counseling as necessary; advocates on clients behalf for most appropriate services including enabling services.
• Assists applicants and recipients in utilizing available resources.
• Makes home visits in connection with casework assignments.
• Provides community outreach for various agency programs.
• Conducts orientation workshops and one-on-one training for new and returning program participants.
• Reads, comprehends and applies complex regulations, rules, policies and procedures including the federal Work Participation Rate.
• Participates in development and implementation of program strategies to increase the federal Work Participation Rate.
• Explains relevant program regulations, rules, and policies to clients and the general public.
• Presents information on available programs to community organizations, the general public, and employers during job fairs, community partner presentations, and one-on-one.
• Conducts ongoing research to identify labor market information and employment and training opportunities for program participants; and establishes and maintains contacts with regional employers and training providers.
• Completes and processes disbursement of funds, documents for clients' authorized supportive services, i.e., childcare and transportation.
• Places clients into appropriate paid and/or non-paid work training assignments and monitors performance and progress.
• Completes and processes documents, correspondence, and reports for authorized supportive services, manually or using an automated system.
• Operates a personal computer, including software programs and an automated system, to enter and retrieve data, manage individual client cases and overall caseload, compile statistical reports, and perform other assigned duties.
• Maintains regular contact with clients to monitor each client's completion of tasks and progress toward attaining goals that will lead to securing employment, and compliance with program requirements.
• Documents evidence of individual clients' compliance or non-compliance with program rules and regulations, and follows procedures related to the imposition of sanctions.
• Performs a variety of clerical duties related to organizing, prioritizing and scheduling assignments; meeting deadlines; completing forms, reports and other documents; maintaining automated and manual files and logs; managing client cases; and fulfilling other responsibilities as required.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative, effective working relationships with program participants; department employees; regional employers, educational facilities, trainers and all others who are program stakeholders and supporters.
• May assess family situation to determine if Family Stabilization services are appropriate.
• May develop Family Stabilization service plan with family and service providers.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Positions also responsible for determining the eligibility for public assistance programs perform the following additional duties:

• Analyzes financial information and eligibility information to determine initial or continuing eligibility for multiple aid programs.
• Enters and retrieves numerical and narrative data and issues benefits from an automated computer system.
• Assists clients in accessing community services.
• Organizes caseload so that necessary case records and documents are processed and updated within specific time limits established by regulation and local policy.

BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform a variety of unskilled/semi-skilled maintenance or custodial duties involving manual labor of facilities, parks, storm drains, streets, etc.
• Clean and inspect facilities for vandalism or potential hazards.
• Sanitize surfaces, repair minor plumbing problems, diagnose basic sewer issues, replace components on fixtures.
• Maintain area(s) as assigned including parks and public buildings, performing basic repairs, inspections and landscaping.
• Load and unload supplies and materials.
• Assist with various areas of public works such as minor asphalt repairs, brush removal, facility repairs, stewardship of protected species, etc.

THE POSITION

• Completion of all Pharmacy requisitions and flex funds as indicated on a monthly basis.

The Department

The Position

The Human Services Specialist (Family Partner) will work as part of a team with counselors and case managers to provide services to parents and their children in Fremont, Newark and Union City. The incumbent will provide peer support and assist families in navigating systems and accessing needed services while promoting independence and advocacy skills through a respectful and non-judgmental manner. The Family Partner uses their own personal lived experience and ensures that the family’s perspective is represented in the provision of all services which will be conducted in the child’s home or school, at Youth and Family Services’ clinic located at the Fremont Family Resource Center or in other community settings.

THE JOB

The Executive Director will serve as a visionary leader for the organization and is responsible for coordinating and expanding various mental health services, ensuring team members are meeting desirable outcomes and providing excellence in service to the communities. They will direct the development of organization-wide goals, policies, and procedures and keep the Governing Board aware of financial conditions, program progress, and the organization’s needs. This job requires financial savvy and organizational development expertise. Implementing strategic plans is essential for this role, as it involves spearheading innovative change. Additionally, the Executive Director must be able to provide policy guidance and ensure compliance with governmental regulations. They will also serve as a representative of TCMHA in meetings with governmental agencies, community groups, and other key stakeholders.

Under general supervision, an Employee Assistance Counselor provides clinical assessment, short-term counseling and referral of City and County employees experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems, such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional concerns or relationship issues. A Counselor conducts seminars, trainings, and consultations on issues related to personal and organizational wellness; prepares records and reports; and performs related duties as required.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Provides clinical assessment, short-term counseling and referral services to employees of the City and County who are experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems, such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional concerns or relationship issues; provides counseling of family members and significant others as appropriate.
2. Facilitates seminars and trainings for employees and management on personal, interpersonal and organizational issues such as the effective management of stress, anger and emotions, workplace negativity and dealing with difficult people.

Read Santa Clara’s adult literacy program serves adults who seek to strengthen their basic literacy skills to achieve their goals as family members, workers, community members and lifelong learners.

The Position:

The Literacy Technology Assistant helps Read Santa Clara's adult learners gain basic digital literacy skills. The person helps adult learners 1:1 or in small groups learn how to use the literacy program's laptops and iPads as well as how to use literacy software on their own devices. The Literacy Technology Assistant may also be called on to support volunteer tutors or Read Santa Clara staff, as the need arises. The Literacy Technology Assistant is a patient, empathetic individual, who can teach basic technology skills to adults who have little or no digital literacy skills.

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill three (3) full-time vacancies for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays. Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client’s (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;

• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedures;

• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;

• Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;

• Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reaction to them;

• Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response.

• Perform triage and linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas.

• Perform critical incident debriefs at the request of a community partner.

• Ability to respond to a mobile crisis in the community catchment area (Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne) within 60 minutes of disposition.

• Follow up with clients who receive mobile crisis services and collaborate with the client's treatment team for warm hand-off.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to calls during assigned shifts including: after regular business hours, late evenings, overnight hours, and on weekends; field work may be required.
