DEFINITION

Perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the Recreation, Arts and Community Services Department, its Director and/or managers and supervisors to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.  The incumbent should be organized, detail oriented, accurate and adept with various computer software.  Perform routine correspondence, field public inquiries, maintain departmental files consistent with the Town’s records retention policy; schedule appointments and meetings, procure supplies, assist with data entry and provide support related to the review, production, and distribution of staff reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform general clerical duties related to assigned functional area, including formatting, copying, collating, compiling, binding and distributing simple and complex reports
• Type, format and edit letters, memoranda, staff reports, marketing materials, and public notifications and other documents.
• Compile and maintain complex, extensive paper, and electronic records and files; act as a resource for other employees on the material in files and records maintained or processed

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:           

• Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
• Working knowledge of enterprise-wide financial software preferred
• Bookkeeping principles and procedures; business mathematics
• Strong command of English language; spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Type accurately at 45 words per minute

DEFINITION

Develop, organize, and implement delivery of recreation and social services to the citizens of Danville in accordance with program objectives set forth by the Recreation, Arts and Community Services Department. Perform professional duties in Community Centers, Village Theatre and Art Gallery, and/or Teen Centers, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Plan, implement and evaluate programs, events and services.
• Assist in recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating part-time personnel and volunteers.

Specific to Youth/Teen Services:

Program Coordinator will be responsible for implementing a variety of recreational, social and educational programs and services for youth, ages preschool through high school.  Work closely with the Town's Police Services Department, School District, community and human services agencies.  Motivate and facilitate various youth groups.

 

Specific to Sports & Fitness and Facility Management

Responsible for the development and implementation of sports programming, including aquatics, and organizing a variety of recreational sports leagues for youth and adults.  Work closely with the school district.  Supervises seasonal Aquatics program to include staff training and in-services. Requires a basic understanding of sports terminology, concepts, and rules. Responsible for sports & fitness fee classes offered in the Danville Activity Guide.  Support facility management through facility rentals.

Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in recreation administration, public administration, or closely related field.

 

LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)

Possession of a valid California State Driver's License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire. First Aid and CPR certification is required but may be obtained during probationary period.

The City is seeking a Division Manager to manage all services and activities in the Safety Division of the Human Resources Department. The Safety Manager will report to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and will be responsible for administering the City of San José's extensive safety program, which includes Worker's Compensation, Employee Health Services, Injury and Illness Prevention Programs, City Driving Program, Safety Show Voucher Program, and ergonomics. The Procurement Administrator II reports to a Procurement Administrator III in Contracts and Procurement and is responsible for preparing and processing Invitations for Bids (IFBs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Purchase Orders (PO’s) for the procurement of goods, materials, equipment, professional services, and public works.

Essential Functions & Duties

 

• Manage all phases of the procurement process in compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and policies governing public agency purchasing (e.g. California Labor Code, Prevailing Wage, and California Contract Code).
• Review solicitation requirements for reasonableness, recommend contract type, determine appropriate procurement strategy, and method of compensation.
• Develop terms and conditions and solicitation provisions.
• Lead contract negotiations to achieve best overall value for the agency. 
• Perform contract administration (e.g., administer contract amendments, prepare in-house memoranda, and correspond with vendors and legal staff).  

 
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: 

• Authorize award of contracts and approve purchases, contract amendments, and work directives consistent with District policy and procedures.
• Prepare and issue professional service agreement work directives. Negotiate and maintain rate agreements and any adjustments in mark-ups or indirect rates with consultants in coordination with project managers. 
• Maintain contract records that includes print and website advertising, leading pre-bid/proposal meetings, lead site walk-throughs, respond to requests for approved equals, address questions and requests for clarification, conduct public bid openings, analyze bids received, determine responsiveness and responsibility of apparent low bidders, check references and perform cost/price analyses. 
• Manage and perform contract activities using PeopleSoft. 
• Develop contract language by collaborating with subject matter experts from such areas as Risk Management, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Labor Compliance, Project Management, Finance, Capital Grants, and Legal Counsel.
• Research and evaluate sole source procurement requests.
• Provide guidance to Project Managers on all aspects of the procurement solicitation and contracting process. This includes evaluating scope of work, identifying evaluation criteria, and developing timelines.
• Prepare written reports and contract award recommendations. 
• Provide guidance and administration on a wide variety of contracts. 
• Interface with government, and transit agencies.
• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect one’s self, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.

Minimum Qualifications

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Three (3) years relevant full-time professional-level experience with procurement and administration of equipment, material, maintenance, public works, and professional or other services-type contracts. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in public agency purchasing is highly desired. 
• One or more of the following Professional procurement certifications is desired: 
• Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), 
• Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), 
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), or 
• Certified Professional Supply Management (CPSM).

The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II,  in an effort to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department. The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

 

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Department believes people can change and we can be instrumental in supporting that change.  We are  a small workplace family that supports one another to accomplish our mission and allow our team members to live full lives outside the workplace. Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Definition

Under direction, the Senior Business Systems Analyst leads and participates in the work of staff in performing applications support in designing, implementing, and maintaining VTA applications and systems including VTA's Enterprise Resource Planning system, Electronic Documents Management System, and other business systems.

 

Distinguishing Characteristics

This is the advanced journey-level in the Business Systems Analyst series. Positions at this level are distinguished from other classes in this series by the level of responsibility assumed, in-depth knowledge about the business area, and complexity of the duties assigned. The Senior Business Systems Analyst performs project lead functions including assigning work, delegating assignments, and reviewing the work of others.

Incumbents at this level perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes in this series including serving as project lead over staff responsible for designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting computer applications, or modules of the application, and systems. Minimum Qualifications

 

Employment Standards

Sufficient training, education and experience to demonstrate possession of the required technical and project management knowledge, skills and abilities.

Development of the required knowledge, skills and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in information systems, computer science or related field and four (4) years of responsible experience developing, designing, and/or maintaining major components of a comprehensive information system including evaluation, analysis and input to the software modules of an Enterprise Resource Planning System or other application system. (Additional applicable experience with applications and systems support, design, and maintenance substitutes for college on a year for year basis.) Incumbents must demonstrate substantial experience in an SAP environment, and/or Electronic Documents Management System, and/or Operations system (such as Trapeze, BDT, ACS) or Construction and CMP solutions.

A VTA employee designated as a "Business Process Owner" and/or "Super User" with four (4) years of experience in that capacity, in addition to performing and leading others in system upgrades and demonstrated technical coursework in SAP or systems used at VTA, meets the minimum qualifications for this classification. Experience with transit/transportation-related applications is desirable.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Director of Finance located in Boulder Creek, CA. The Director of Finance supervises, oversees and manages the activities and operations of the Finance Department including financial reporting, general accounting, purchasing, warehousing and inventory control; budget preparation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, debt administration, revenue management, administration of invested funds and performs other related duties as required.

• Principles and practices of financial analysis.
• Principles and practices of public agency finance, including general and governmental accounting, auditing, and reporting functions.
• Fundamentals of investment management, monitoring of assets, and required reporting.
• Cash flow management and financial projections for planning and decision-making.
• Advanced accounting and financial reporting systems.
• Advanced principles and practices of public agency budget development and administration and sound financial management policies and procedures;
• Principles and practices of effective management and supervision including planning, organizing, reviewing work, and training and evaluating staff.
• Computer applications related to accounting, budgeting, and fiscal management.
• Principles, practices, and trends of public and business administration.
• Applicable Federal, State, local, and district laws rules, regulatory codes, ordinances, and procedures relevant to the assigned area of responsibility;
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Experience in the water utility industry is a plus
• Knowledge of California water utility regulations and laws is a plus

Education, Training and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field

This position will perform a variety of responsible law enforcement and crime prevention work, including patrolling assigned areas, answering calls and complaints, investigating crimes, serving civil papers, and providing court room security; enforce all federal and state laws and local ordinances related to public safety and welfare.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Performs routine patrol duties, including but not limited to patrolling assigned areas of the County; responding to emergency calls and/or public calls for assistance; investigating disturbances, prowlers, burglaries, thefts, vehicle accidents and other crimes; checking buildings for physical security, etc.

• Administers first aid in emergency situations.

• Issues traffic citations.

• Serves warrants, subpoenas and civil documents.

• Assists with County search and rescue operations.

• Works with other law enforcement agencies in matters related to the investigation of crimes and apprehension of offenders.
