The Behavioral Health Clinician I/II performs a variety of professional duties in the provision of outpatient and crisis behavioral health services to individuals and groups. This person will work with complex casework which may include clinics, criminal justice, adult services, youth and family services, and other mental health settings where they may be asked to respond to crisis situations, work with case managers and psychiatrists in treatment teams and be familiar with various treatment modalities to ensure clients are in appropriate treatment services. The position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.
JOB DUTIES
- Provides professional mental health outpatient evaluation, consultation, and treatment services to individuals and groups.
- Performs client intake procedures.
- Provides individual, group, and family counseling on a variety of mental health problems and substance use disorders; develops treatment plans; provides follow-up counseling and assists clients with the resolution of problems.
- Observes clients on-site at schools, etc., as necessary; conducts home visits as necessary. Consults with psychiatrist and other clinical staff about treatment planning for clients.
- Provides psychotherapy to children and adult clients or their relatives through individual or group therapy methods.
- Performs performance outcome measures and completes related administrative work.
