WORK SCHEDULE 

The Internship is for 11 weeks and can start as early as May 26, 2026, and end as late as September 30, 2026. This paid internship is offered at 32 hours per week. The official start and end date of the internship will be determined at the time of hire. Work hours are generally Monday – Thursday between 8:00am – 5:00pm. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

• Assist Planning with Greenhouse Gas Reduction/Climate Action Plan, including research and community outreach
• Capture project photos for department’s year-end video 
• Create a housing portfolio of Below Market Rate (BMR) properties for office use 
• Support the Building Division by developing permit examples for website 
• Assist Fire Prevention with entering firework code cases and processing booth permits
• Research and collect data for Public Records Act (PRA) requests 

POTENTIAL PROJECTS: 

• Grant Funding Research for Housing and Community Services Division
• Greenhouse Gas Reduction/Climate Action Plan for Planning Division 
• Website Improvements for all divisions

PAL (Police Activities League) Program Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: PAL Program Attendants work with Suisun City’s PAL Program and with area teenagers ages 13-19 to implement educational and recreational activities: tutoring, sports, games, mini-excursions, competitions, contests, seminars, and special events, and provide general support to the program’s Recreation Supervisor. We’re looking for highly motivated people with a customer service orientation who genuinely enjoy helping others and who are flexible problem-solvers.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Seasonal Maintenance Worker position performs a variety of entry-level and unskilled labor, maintenance and repair tasks in various public works operations, such as park maintenance, landscape maintenance, creek and catch basin maintenance, street maintenance, and janitorial and facility maintenance.  Weekend availability is at times required for picnic area prep, general park clean-up, etc.

Work Schedule:

• Planning to hire for start date in May 2026
• Work hours will not exceed 29 hours per week.
• Most hours will occur during maintenance operation hours: Saturday through Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Gilroy is recruiting an undergraduate or graduate-level City Emergency Management College Summer Intern for the summer of 2026. This internship will provide a significant opportunity to gain experience and exposure and accumulate skills that are used daily in city government emergency management programs that make substantial impacts to the community. The Emergency Management Team works year-round to ensure that community is prepared for disasters through planning, training, outreach, and coordination with local and regional partners. Joining our team means contributing to meaningful work that directly supports community reliance and preparedness. 

Working under the supervision of the Emergency Services and Volunteer Coordinator, the Emergency Management Intern will assist with planning, preparedness, outreach, and administrative functions that support OEM programs and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) readiness. Work includes both office-based and field support activities.

VOLUNTEER WORK SCHEDULE

The assigned manager will work with the Intern to identify a work schedule during standard work hours as described below. • Assist with reviewing and updating emergency planes, annexes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 
• Support EOC readiness activities, including equipment checks, document organization, and checklist updates
• Maintain resource lists, contact databases, and situational awareness tools
• Assist with Emergency Management Volunteer coordination and management 
• Help develop outreach materials and coordinate community education events

The City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department is looking for highly qualified, experienced Community Services Coordinators

The Position

The Community Services Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating a specific program area within the Recreation Division.  This assignment is typically a more defined program area that is narrower in size or scope than those assigned to Supervisors.  Coordinators excel at the following:

• Instruct and lead specialized recreation and human services activities requiring leadership in a structured environment;
• Provide activities and general facility supervision and control at a community recreation center or special use facility;
• Coordinate, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services;
• Perform office, administrative, public information and activity intake responsibilities;
• Assist in preparing program facilities for structured program activities and special events.

The Community Services Coordinator receives general supervision from higher-level recreation positions and may exercise functional and technical supervision over lower level and part-time recreation personnel and volunteers.

The City of Menlo Park is currently accepting applications to fill a Mechanic vacancy in the Fleet Services Section of the Public Works Department. A Mechanic performs diagnostic, maintenance and repair services on light and heavy city vehicles and equipment, such as automobiles, storm/sewer trucks, aerial bucket trucks, dump trucks shuttle buses, construction equipment, lawn mowers, small equipment and stationary generators; and performs other duties as assigned.

The Mechanic performs a range of skilled tasks requiring journey level or advanced journey-level class mechanical ability and aptitude. Work assignments are performed according to established rules and procedures. Independent judgment is required and is supported by supervisory review and direction.

Equipment Mechanic

This is the journey-level class in the Equipment Mechanic classification series responsible for performing the full range of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, gasoline and diesel repair and maintenance required for City vehicles, and equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting and attending to assigned areas in a timely manner, and performing a wide variety of tasks in the maintenance and repair of assigned vehicles and equipment. Incumbents are expected to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from other maintenance class series in that it performs more highly skilled technical and mechanical maintenance activities. This class is distinguished from Senior Equipment Mechanic in that the latter leads, trains, and oversees assigned work and performs the more complex and difficult work in mechanical maintenance and repair of City vehicles and equipment.

Senior Equipment Mechanic

This is the advanced journey-level class in the equipment mechanic classification series performing the most complex duties required to ensure that City vehicles and equipment are maintained in a safe and effective working condition and provide the highest level of safety for City use, and providing lead direction and training to full-time and temporary staff. Incumbents regularly work on tasks that are varied and complex, requiring considerable discretion and independent judgment. Positions in this classification rely on experience and judgment to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the assigned section. The work involves problem-solving of unique issues or increasingly complex problems without precedent and/or structure. Assignments are given with general guidelines and incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines, and methods to deliver work products. Work is typically reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements. This classification is distinguished from the Fleet Supervisor in that the latter has oversight of the entire fleet division, system- assignments and projects, and responsibility for organizing, assigning, supervising, and reviewing the work of assigned staff involved in maintenance operations.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Equipment Parts Technician in the Public Works Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan, monitor, and manage the ordering, purchasing, storing, billing, issuing and maintenance control of equipment parts, accessories and supplies utilized in the service and repair of the City vehicles and equipment and to perform other related duties.

There are two shop locations – one at the Corporation Yard which focuses on light duty vehicles and one at the Transfer Station which focuses on heavy duty vehicles. This is an amazing opportunity for a self starter to organize the parts room and support the staff, the division, and the entire City fleet.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of experience ordering, purchasing, issuing, and maintaining electronic inventory systems for heavy equipment parts and/or automotive parts and accessories.

Other requirements include possessing a valid California driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and bending at the waist. Ability to hear automotive sounds, read fine print, and view a computer monitor. Sufficient strength and stamina to lift and transport parts weighing up to 80 pounds. Manual dexterity for detailed mechanical work and computer use. 

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to hot and cold environments. Noise level ranges from moderate to high. Potential exposure to hazardous materials and emergency conditions. Must be available to work evening and weekend shifts.

About the role:                                                                                    

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Manager – Special Events and Cultural Arts is responsible for leading the planning, production, and oversight of the City’s signature special events, while also supporting Redwood City’s cultural arts programming. From large-scale downtown festivals and concerts to cultural celebrations, family events, and community gatherings featured on www.RedwoodCityEvents.com, this position helps ensure that our parks, plazas, and public spaces remain active, welcoming, and full of life.

This role oversees the full lifecycle of major community events, including concept development, budgeting, sponsorship coordination, vendor and performer booking, permitting, logistics, safety planning, marketing coordination, and on-site production. Signature events such as outdoor concert series, holiday celebrations, cultural festivals, movie nights, and destination activations require thoughtful coordination with Police, Fire, Public Works, Economic Development, and community partners. The City of Dixon is pleased to announce an exciting career opportunity!  We are currently recruiting for the position of Public Works Operations & Maintenance Superintendent (Manager) in our dynamic Public Works Department. This key leadership role plays a vital part in shaping the heart of our community.  This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising a wide range of Public Works Operations — including maintenance and operations of parks, landscaped areas, recreation facilities, streetscapes, streets, municipal buildings and facilities, and fleet.

This is a mid-management classification with broad responsibility for overseeing Public Works Operations. The Superintendent is entrusted with a variety of complex, high-level managerial and supervisory duties and receives administrative direction from the Public Works Director. The role also involves both direct and indirect supervision of Public Works Operations personnel.
