The Department: The Suisun City Police Department is a progressive and proactive law enforcement agency. As a result of its proximity to neighboring jurisdictions, the employees of the Suisun City Police Department remain extremely busy as they address the needs of the community. The Position: Under supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher I) or general supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher II)  the incumbent performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, evaluating, prioritizing, and relaying calls for emergency and non-emergency public safety assistance; dispatches appropriate units and coordinates response of emergency personnel; maintains, processes, and distributes police records; operates a variety of telecommunications equipment, including radio, telephone, and CAD systems; and performs a wide variety of specialized clerical duties involved in the preparation, maintenance, and release of materials related to law enforcement activities.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Pacifica Police Department is responsible for all functions related to law enforcement and crime prevention and is made up of several divisions that carry out specialized duties to help the department perform as a cohesive whole. Staff includes thirty-eight (38) full-time positions consisting of the Police Chief, 2 Captains, 7 Sergeants, 6 Corporals, 17 Officers, a Records Supervisor, a Records Clerk, an Evidence Technician, a .5 Property Clerk, 2 .5 grant-funded Community Service Officers and an Administrative Assistant.

THE POSITION

The current opening is for a full-time position and is under the direction of the Police Records Supervisor. The Police Records Clerk will provide a wide variety of clerical, typing, and computer data entry tasks related to Police records; maintaining accurate Police statistics, records, and files; conducting business and transactions with the public, in person and by telephone; is available for occasional night and/or weekend duty as required, and performing other related work as required.

BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for all Police statistical record keeping.
• Perform a variety of data entry, typing, and clerical work related to all phases of the Police operation,  such as preparing forms, ordering department supplies, and making appointments.
• Prepare correspondence and compile information for reports.
• Direct requests to proper agencies and departments.
• Enter, update, and maintain data while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all information.
• Coordinate service of subpoenas.
• Compile data for Public Records Act requests.
• Approve and prepare reports for the District Attorney.
• Assist the public both in person and by telephone, requiring knowledge of rules and procedures.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The County of Yuba is currently accepting Full-Time applications for the position of Office Assistant. The current vacancy exists in the Probation Department. Designs and presents general and technical correspondence, and promotional materials; designs and develops forms, tracking systems, databases, and spreadsheets. Supplies individuals with information, copies of documents and records, etc. The position is at-will, temporary, part-time and scheduled for twenty-four (24) hours per week. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Establishes files; maintains accurate and detailed records; verifies the accuracy of information; researches discrepancies and notifies appropriate personnel or agency.
• Word processes and proofreads a variety of documents; enters a variety of departmental data into the computer; retrieves information as needed; operates various printers.
• Compiles data for use in reports and/or managerial decision-making.
• Performs routine clerical duties as required, including but not limited to typing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, retrieving files, entering computer data, completing and processing various forms, maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, assembling materials, faxing information, answering the telephone, greeting and assisting customers / clients, processing mail, etc.

This position will receive a four percent (4%) cost of living increase effective April 2024.

The City of Mill Valley is seeking a self-directed problem- solver with an entrepreneurial spirit, high standards of excellence, and demonstrated commitment to public service and program development.

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Coordinator II – Aquatics Safety manages the City’s Aquatics lifeguards and scheduling, including lap swim, water-walking, lifeguard certification, community CPR/First Aid classes and JR Lifeguard program.  This position also supervises all lifeguards, senior lifeguards and provides key assistance to the Recreation Supervisor on all related matters (works closely with Recreation Coordinator I- Aquatics programs to support division goals and activities).

The Aquatics & Fitness Center is a 7-day a week operation.

Recreation Coordinator II schedule may include Saturdays and Sundays and is subject to change depending on facility and supervisor needs. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Recruit, hire, manage, train, schedule, audit, discipline and evaluate staff, contractors, interns, and volunteers.
• Schedule and provide regular in-service training for aquatics staff.
• Schedule and provide regular class and certification offerings necessary to staff for the proper operation of a public pool facility.
• Manage and develop the swim lesson program to balance and meet the needs of the community and the goals of the Department.
• Plan, develop and implement programs and events.
• Evaluate the progress and effectiveness of scheduling and programming utilizing measurable outcomes.
• Coordinate with local police and fire agencies for emergency response protocols.
• Assist in the development of policies, procedures, contracts, and manuals for facility users and staff.
• Work with local organizations, businesses, school personnel, parents, and community members in developing recreational programs and activities.
• Maintain all personal certifications and be available to lifeguard, teach swim lessons, and otherwise supplement line staff when needed.
• Provide assistance and guidance to facility users, anticipate and resolve problems, provide quality customer service.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
