The Event Security Operations Manager (SM3) plays a vital senior role in the management of security, medical response and emergency contingency plans for events occurring on the Stanford campus. The SM3 will provide guidance, negotiate with, influence and support university leaders on matters of safety and security that have a campus-wide impact. The SM3 will be responsible establishing security plans and ensuring medical response plans are in place for the 300+ planned events that occur on campus each year including procuring and scheduling security and supplemental medical personnel to staff events. The Aging and Adult Services Division of San Mateo County Health is seeking a Deputy Public Guardian Conservatorship Investigator III (DPG). The position is on the Probate Conservatorship Investigation team and is the intake section of the San Mateo County Public Guardian program.

 

The team receives referrals from all sources, for individuals who are no longer able to make decisions for themselves due to a disabling condition other than mental health. The probate conservatorship investigators conduct a very involved inquiry into the individual's past and present life to prove to the court that there are no other alternatives to conservatorship that will allow the individual to continue to live independently in the community. Conservatorship is a very invasive process as it removes most of an individual's rights. Therefore, it is as a last resort that a petition for conservatorship is filed with the Superior Court.

 

The current vacancy is in the Aging and Adult Services Division located in San Mateo, but will drive to visit clients at various locations, attend meetings, and perform various duties of the position. This person will report to the Supervising Deputy Public Guardian of Aging and Adult Services.

DPG's have responsibility for managing estates and providing casework services. They administer complex property and litigation cases, prepare complex court reports and testify in Court as needed and may develop comprehensive care plans. DPG III's also provide lead direction and training to other deputies, serve as liaisons with specific County and State department and community agencies, handle those cases that present the greatest liability to the client and/or the County, and may provide 24-hour emergency response services.

Three years experience coordinating the care and managing the income and assets of frail elderly and gravely disabled persons.

San Mateo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduling Specialist for a Full-Time, Extra-help position for the Surgery Department. The Surgery Scheduling Specialist provides technical, complex and specialized administrative support to surgeons and patients scheduled for surgery, which includes interaction with operating room staff and patients; handles multiple competing priorities; interacts with diverse customer groups; handles multiple patient-related tasks such as tracking patient financials to ensure information is correctly entered; and moves patients from the clinic to the operating room, including all pre-operative processes necessary for the patients prior to surgery, pre-op process sheets and clinic schedules, data entry of items into the operative database, financial reconciliation, and post-op order sets, and may have some responsibilities for ordering supplies or equipment.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex medical terminology to a variety of people with varying levels of medical knowledge. In addition, they would possess skills in conflict resolution, and problem solving. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with challenging patients, and patients who may have a language or communication barrier. This position will require attention to detail, and therefore the ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
 
NOTE: The ability to speak, read and write in fluent English and Spanish is preferred for this position.
 
 Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Tracking patient financials to be sure they are correctly entered.
• Scheduling patients in the procedure clinic.  
• Updating the pre-op process sheet and clinic schedule in the computer.
• Entering data into the operative database.
• Interfacing between the Operating Room and Surgeon.
• Ability to schedule patients using the OR manager program.

San Mateo Medical Center is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Occupational Therapist II.  
Currently, there is one full-time, limited-term vacancy and two Extra-Help, part-time, vacancies. These positions will plan and provide occupational therapy services for acutely ill or rehabilitative patients in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting.
Occupational Therapist II is the experienced journey level class in this series. Incumbents in this class perform the full range of general therapy treatments with a greater degree of independence and proficiency, additionally applying more specialized and advanced therapy treatments. Some individuals may also assist in providing technical advice and training to less experienced staff.
The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited occupational therapy curriculum and is licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the California Board of Occupational Therapy and registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. They will also possess a Certificate of completion for a course in Basic Life Support as approved by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Additionally, the incumbent will have experience in working with adults, skilled nursing, and acute care.  Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
