Program Overview:

The Child Welfare Mental Health (CWMH) team serves children ages 6-17 years old and their families who have a voluntary or court-ordered open case with Children and Family Services (CFS). For all CFS referred youth, we administer the CANS, among other assessment tools. We interview the children, caregivers, and any relevant parties as part of this assessment process. Based on these assessments, we provide various therapeutic services (e.g., individual therapy, family therapy, dyadic therapy, psychiatric evaluations, etc.). We work in conjunction with pediatric nurses, doctors, and psychiatrists. When appropriate or upon CFS case closure, CWMH therapist transfers mental health services to other BHRS programs or to our network of community-based agencies/providers.

Position Description:

We are hiring a Bilingual Spanish-speaking clinician to provide assessments, brief crisis/stabilization, therapy, case management services, and treatment summaries to the court for children aged 6-17 years old. The ideal candidate will provide trauma-informed child abuse treatment and work closely with the foster care system.

Our clinicians carry an outpatient caseload and services are community-based. We can conduct therapy at our BHRS therapy offices, but mostly conduct therapy off-site (e.g., at the child’s school, homes, etc) based on what is convenient for the child/family. So, having a car to travel within San Mateo County is necessary to the work. It is important to note that for work-related travel, the candidate can choose to use county cars or if they decide to drive their vehicle, they can also get mileage reimbursement.

We serve residents of San Mateo County who are often of racial/ethnic minorities and low-income status. Our team consists of master’s level clinicians (licensed and unlicensed). Therapists have weekly individual supervision and a weekly clinical staff meeting where cases are discussed. There are ongoing training opportunities to learn skills in a wide variety of modalities (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, NMT, etc.). The work that this team does is critical for the health and well-being of many children and youth in San Mateo County. About you in the position

The Principal Staff Specialist (AB 617 role) in the SI Division will coordinate the division's efforts in bringing greater equity to grant programs through program development, collaboration with other divisions, and engagement with communities under the AB 617 program. With your in-depth knowledge of the Air District’s emission reduction grant programs, you will lead the division's participation in internal and external AB 617 engagement, including communicating the role of the division; analyzing, reporting, and presenting information about air quality improvement incentive programs and mobile sources, participating in community meetings, proposing and guiding discussions on incentive-related emission reduction strategies and actions, developing plans/programs to implement action, and soliciting feedback on strategy implementation. Examples of other tasks include preparing written materials related to grant programs, reports and plans; proposing recommendations for updates to current incentive programs; developing and supporting the development of new programs; assessing impacts of regulatory actions on mobile source categories; presenting to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders; and leading and training staff. The City of Foster City is looking for a dedicated and responsible individual to join the Police Department as a Senior Community Services Officer. Property/Evidence Assignment
Maintain and manage property and evidence of the department, including maintaining the property / evidence rooms; receive, collect, catalogue, store, handle and transport evidence; reviews files on case-by-base basis for disposition in accordance with Penal Codes and Law; assist in providing training to officers on proper packaging of evidence; prepare basic police reports, compile complex information; manage equipment inventory, provide information, telephone and front counter service, order and maintain evidence supplies and necessary equipment, perform payroll data input and payroll preparation/coordination, and other duties as assigned.

DEFINITION

Police Records Clerk I: Under direct supervision, perform detailed clerical work of average complexity in connection with processing and maintaining sensitive and confidential police records; operate computerized Records Management System; receive money; provide customer service both at the counter and on the telephone; and to do related work as required. Police Records Clerk I is an entry-level position and Police Records Clerk II is the journey level class in the series requiring average knowledge and computer experience. Incumbents in this class, working within established procedures are expected to carry out general clerical duties, following oral and written directions, learn to exercise independent judgment, and have the ability to work in groups to achieve common goals. 

Police Records Clerk II: Under supervision, Police Records Clerk II are expected to work within established procedures at a wide variety of keyboarding, data-entry, and general clerical duties, exercise independent judgment and provide training, technical and clerical supervision over less experienced staff.

Both the Police Records Clerk I and Police Records Clerk II have frequent contact with the public and other law enforcement agencies. Incumbents deal with sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis and are required to work under pressure.

The San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in this newly created classification.  You will maintain fire apparatus and department vehicles for the communities of Belmont, Foster City, and San Mateo. The San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department is a full-service agency that serves the cities of Belmont, Foster City, and San Mateo. The Department serves nearly 164,000 residents daily, with a daytime population of around 230,000. The Department is responsible for nine fire stations, deploys ten front line type 1 fire engines, and two aerial tiller trucks. The Department is partnered with the State of California for mutual aid deployment. What You’ll Do

• Perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of diesel and gas-powered apparatus, vehicles, hydraulic systems for aerial ladders, and other like equipment.
• Accept assignments received in the form or oral or written communications.
• Determine the nature and extent of needed repairs, prioritize them, and perform necessary repairs.
• Inspect all department vehicles to ensure they meet proper safety protocols and are in standard working order.
• Maintain all vehicles to ensure safe working order for all employees.
• Perform regular servicing and preventative maintenance on all vehicles and apparatus including performing tune-ups, lube, oil, filter, Inspection, and chassis lubrication.
• Diagnose, service, maintain such things as: fire pumps, relief valves, and other control of plumbing equipment (proper certification required).
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair engines, power train components, transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, hydraulic and pneumatic brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Perform welding and fabricating work when applicable.
• Operate all equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine shop maintenance and clean-up and dispose of hazardous materials according to established procedures.
• Keep records of work assignments for bookkeeping and tracking purposes.
• Potentially respond to unanticipated emergencies to make temporary and/or permanent repairs in the field.

The City of Brisbane is currently recruiting certified Lifeguards for our beautiful year-round outdoor aquatic facility.  Lifeguards patrol and watch the activities in and around the community swimming pool, enforce regulations to prevent accidents, and rescue swimmers in distress.  A full job description is available at www.brisbaneca.org.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  Graduation from high school or GED equivalent is desirable.  This provision may be waived for applicants 15 to 18 years of age with ability to obtain a valid work permit.

Experience:  Previous experience as a lifeguard, having worked with youth and WSI certification is desirable.

Special Requirements:  Current Lifeguarding, Standard First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificates are required. Current certifications for this program are not required prior to applying for position.

SALARY AND HOURS:

$17.06 – $17.91– $18.80 – $19.75 - $20.72 per hour.  This is a part-time position, paid sick leave benefit available. Initial appointments are generally made at the first step of this five step scale.  Hours will range from 15-25 hours per week.  Candidates that make the eligibility list may be selected for shifts as needed throughout the year.  Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout the entire year.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Applications will be screened and a limited number of the most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the examination process, which may consist of an oral panel interview, department interview, or in the form of a practical demonstration of skill and ability, or any combination of these.  A passing score of 70% is required to make the eligibility list.   Recommendations for appointment from this list will be made to the Recreation Supervisor, who will make the final decision.  Depending on the number of applicants, this process may be altered.  Prior to appointment, a background check, including fingerprinting for submission to the Department of Justice must be completed, as well as TB screening.
