The Position

The Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo seeks a collaborative, innovative problem solver, experienced with housing authority operations for the position of Executive Director to provide exceptional leadership at a high-performing agency.

With general direction from the Department of Housing Director and Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, the Executive Director organizes, coordinates, and directs through management staff all Housing Authority functions and activities; provides policy guidance and strategic direction regarding housing issues; fosters cooperative working relationships with the Board, HACSM staff, the public and other agencies; and performs related work as assigned. EDUCATION AND TRAINING GUIDELINES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Technical training in a water treatment plant system or related field is desirable.

Experience: One (1) year of full-time experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pollution control plant and sewage pumping facilities.

Licenses: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license, obtain and maintain a California Class B Driver’s License, and a satisfactory driving record. CWEA Certification as a Grade I Mechanical Technologist.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Respond to work at any hour of the day or night, within designated timeframe, as required during afterhours, weekend service, and/or emergency situations; carry communication equipment in order to respond after work hours. Vision, hearing, and physical ability adequate to obtain and maintain a California Class B Driver’s License; speak clearly and understandably. Nature of work
Involves physical effort in the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment; the ability to lift heavy objects; exposure to working conditions where minor abrasions, bruises, and burns may occur; occasional uncomfortable work inside closed and dirty spaces; exposure to potential uncomfortable weather conditions and traffic conditions; and requires physical stamina to stand, stoop, bend and climb ladders while working in confined spaces, entryways and tight crawl spaces.  Some positions may also require the ability to operate both automatic and manual automobile transmission as needed. 2. Possession of a valid California Driver’s License; AND

3. Possession at time of hire a Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certificate issued by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency.

Substitution: (Any of the following may be substituted for the required experience)

• Completion of a recognized four-year Stationary Engineer apprenticeship program
• Graduation from a recognized four-year Maritime Academy with a degree in engineering or technology
• Possession of at least a 3rd Assistant Marine Engineer's License of any (unrestricted) horsepower

Medical Services Assistants II who are assigned to the clinics and perform advanced patient care duties as defined in the classification specification shall receive a differential of 6.2% in addition to all other compensation.
 

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Accurately take and record the condition, respiration, pulse, temperature and blood pressure of patients; record other pertinent information as observed or measured.

Qualifications

Certification Requirement:
Possession of a Medical Assistant Certificate or a certificate of completion or degree from an accredited medical assisting program is required. A certificate of completion of an approved medical assisting program must be submitted at the time of application.

Bilingual Fluency:

Job Description

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician supports the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients served by the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Assists registered pharmacists in performing nonprofessional duties in an institutional pharmacy; receives, inspects, stores, and fills orders for pharmaceutical supplies. Nature of work involves continuous close attention to detail and some potential exposure to hazardous substances.

Under supervision, the Pharmacy Technician performs the following essential job functions:

• Accurately prepares unit dose medications, compounds a variety of pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a Pharmacist, including intravenous admixtures according to proper aseptic technique and in accordance with, professional standards and departmental policies and procedures, in order to maintain required levels of supply and to provide patients with needed medications;
• Prepares or repackages drugs and pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a Pharmacist, in amounts needed to fill written orders/prescriptions in order to provide patients with needed medication and to maintain required levels of supply;
• Prepares medication labels based on written orders from physicians and other professional staff according to California State Board of Pharmacy requirements;
• Records billing information for accurate and appropriate billing of patients for medications, involving use of desktop computer keyboard for entering medication orders and billing information;
• Maintains drug and pharmaceutical stock levels by counting and checking stores of drugs and pharmaceuticals against standard, pre-set stock levels, ordering and verifying deliveries against invoices to ensure accuracy; 
• Inspects and stores delivered stock in the pharmacy patient care areas by sorting and shelving them for optimal retrieval;
• Delivers, retrieves, and exchanges medications and pharmaceutical items to and from specified areas, or for dispensing by cart to ensure that clinical and patient needs are met;
• Provides information to patients, public and other healthcare providers within the scope of Technician activities through a variety of methods, including personal contact, at the Pharmacy window, in patient care areas, and by telephone or video.  This does not include medication counseling or providing drug information; 
• Orients and trains new personnel, pharmacy students, or others on departmental policies and procedures appropriate to a Technician’s scope of work;
• Uses, maintains, and troubleshoots automated dispensing equipment or relevant pharmacy-related software and other equipment necessary for pharmacy operations;
• Accurately prepares, dispenses, and documents controlled substance orders, and maintains accurate inventory records.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1.   Experience: One (1) year (equivalent to 2,000 hours) of experience (in the last 5 years) assisting in the preparation of drug and pharmaceutical items in a licensed pharmacy;

AND

2.   License: Possession of a valid Pharmacy Technician License/Registration issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy. (Please attach a copy)

• License status must be "Current" according to search.dca.ca.gov/

Substitution: Possession of a valid Intern Pharmacist License/Registration issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy may substitute for the required experience and license.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is a 15.7 MDG sub-regional facility that serves an estimated 164,545 customers  administering the annual operation and maintenance budget over $12.8 million with a staff of 34 professional and technical personnel.  The City of San Mateo is building a team tasked with the safe and continuous operation of the current expansion of this conventional activated sludge plant by introducing new facilities including; preliminary treatment, primary treatment, enhanced biological nutrient removal/membrane bioreactors (BNR/MBR), biological and chemically enhanced treatment (BioACTIFLO), and additional upgrades to existing process equipment. A vital and instrumental member of this team is the WWTP Operator III.

The Position

This position will receive general direction from the Chief Plant Operator and instruction from their Shift Supervisor to provide daily guidance to lower level operators and trainees. The WWTP Operator III will be responsible for supporting these efforts to guide, develop and mentor staff on their assigned shift, act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Shift Supervisor, and is the assigned lead in getting both scheduled and unscheduled work completed.
