This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

Engineering Services Division (ES ) - Permits

The Senior Construction Inspector(s) assigned to Permits in the Engineering Services Division is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and performing materials sampling and testing of various construction materials to ensure compliance with City and State Standards and Specifications. Under the supervision of Principal Construction Inspectors, the candidate will perform the key responsibilities listed below.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Reviews plans and specifications and submittals for conformance to established standards for major construction projects.
• Reviews plans, drawings, and blueprints for completeness and accuracy and assures implementation of plan.

• Investigate and respond to construction inquires/complaints from other departments or the public.

The City of Saratoga is currently recruiting to fill a full-time Accounting Technician position within the Administrative Services Department. The incumbent will report to the Finance Manager.

The Accounting Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative account support duties associated with preparing, maintaining, and processing accounts receivable and accounts payable records and transactions. The incumbent’s duties include reconciling accounts and ledgers, preparing financial reports, batch runs and wire transfers, tracking and maintaining manual and computerized accounting and financial records, establishing and updating vendor records, and performing related duties as assigned. The Property Manager I/II position is in the Finance and Administration Division at San José Mineta International Airport and reports to a Senior Property Manager in one of three groups including Airlines, Concessions, or Commercial Properties. San Jose Animal Care Services, a division in the Public Works Department is currently seeking to fill four (4) full-time Animal Care Attendant vacancies. Both day and night shifts are available.

Animal Care Attendants report to the Shelter Manager of Animal Care and Services and are primarily responsible for feeding, caring for, and moving shelter animals; euthanizing animals; and cleaning and disinfecting kennels and cages. Other duties may include receiving animals brought to the shelter by Animal Control Officers or the public; assisting the public in claiming impounded animals or in adoptions; completing and maintaining animal records; responding to questions regarding age, breed characteristics and treatment of animals; and explaining and interpreting animal control laws, ordinances, regulations, procedures, and policies to the public.

Animal Care Attendants are required to work weekends, holidays, nights, rotating shifts, and respond to emergency animal services assignments during off-duty hours.

Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 100 pounds while handling animals and equipment. Employees may work outside and be exposed to inclement weather, may be exposed to blood borne pathogens while using hypodermic needles on animals, may be exposed to animal scratches and bites, and may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, gases, chemicals, pollens, and other airborne irritants.

This position will undergo training (4-6 weeks) during normal business hours and will be scheduled to work 5 days a week in either a daytime shift OR overnight shift ( e.g . 9:00 pm to 5:30 a m) after training has been completed. This position will be require d to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and respond to emergency animal services assignments.

The Department: 
 The Assistant City Clerk’s Office/City Manager’s Office is recruiting to fill a Deputy City Clerk. The Assistant City Clerk’s Office is organized under the City Clerk’s Office.  The Office of the Assistant City Clerk processes the agendas for and attends all meetings of the Council and Authorities Concurrent and Stadium Authority meetings, maintains accurate and up-to-date records of the proceedings of those meetings and makes those records open for public inspection. The Office of the Assistant City Clerk processes and maintains copies of City contracts, ordinances, resolutions and other official documents.  The Position: 
 The Deputy City Clerk will report to the Assistant City Clerk and perform highly complex administrative and analytical work. This position will assist the Assistant City Clerk in the administration of the City Clerk's Office. The incumbent will assist in developing, implementing and coordinating projects, programs and procedures. This position is responsible for assisting with Public Record Act (PRA) requests and this position will also support projects and programs within the City Manager’s Office. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any education or experience equivalent to:

• An Associate of Arts degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field; and

POSITION

Under general supervision, provides highly responsible administrative support to the City Clerk to assist with the day-to-day operations of the City Clerk’s Office. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Work schedule is flexible up to 30 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Typical Duties:

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Equivalent to graduation from high school and thirty (30) semester units of college level work with an emphasis in public safety, supervision and management, public administration or related subjects; and
• Five years' experience dispatching in the public safety field, at least two (2) years of which having been at the supervisory level.
Possible Substitutions:
• Administrative or supervisory experience in a public safety department may be substituted for the dispatching experience on a year for year basis.

LICENSE
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment and for duration of employment.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
• Willing to respond to callback in case of major emergencies or local disasters;
• Willing to work Saturdays and odd, irregular and unusual hours;
• Will be required to pass a City background investigation, which will include fingerprinting, polygraph and/or psychological testing; and
• Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job.
