Salary range for this classification is: $131,187.68 - $207,658.10

This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

The City is seeking a Division Manager to manage all services and activities in the Benefits Division of the Human Resources Department. The Benefits Manager will report to the Director of Human Resources and will be responsible for administering the City of San José's extensive benefits program, which includes insurance programs and other health, financial and professional benefits. The Director and Division Manager will work closely to make recommendations to the City Manager based on their evaluation of all benefits plans.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration. 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims administration including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. You will also serve as a consultant to City departments and employees on Risk Management (workers' compensation, safety, contract insurance) problems and communicate regularly with internal and external parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and activities, minimize risk, and advise of claim developments. Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards
Sufficient education and increasingly responsible experience to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Planning, Building and Code Enforcement position:

The Public Information team works closely in support of each of the Department's divisions to provide information to the public and within the organization. ?The Department is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Public Information Manager. As the Public Information Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing public information strategies to effectively disseminate information to the public, media, and other stakeholders regarding the department's operations, policies, and initiatives.

The PRNS Department is seeking an experienced senior communicator with a diverse skillset to establish and guide the strategy for all communications, website, public relations messages, and collateral to represent the PRNS Department to the public. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent writing and presentation skills and have substantial experience with developing and executing effective communication plans using a wide range of appropriate tactics, including traditional and new media. Creativity, good judgment, initiative, and a collaborative attitude are essential, as well as the skills necessary in developing strategic partnerships, including with potential partners and donors, to ensure that equitable access to recreational opportunities are provided to all San José residents.

The City of Dixon is accepting applications to fill one (1) full-time position of Transit Driver/Dispatcher and to establish an eligibility list for future use.  

This position drives a Readi-Ride General Public Paratransit Vehicle (GPPV) on a demand responsive curb-to-curb transit system and assist patrons boarding and leaving the bus, especially the elderly, disabled, and school age children. May also assist in collecting information relating to the operation of the system; receive ride requests and organize the vehicle pick-ups and drop-offs; and, will work closely with the drivers and Transit Supervisor to ensure coordinated efforts.

About the Highway Program Deputy Director

The Highway Program Deputy Director, reporting to the Chief of Engineering and Program Delivery, manages a diverse and talented team of seasoned staff who is well-versed on the delivery of capital projects related to the State highway system and other roadways in the county. This position is responsible for directing and leading collaboration on planning, design development (including technical analysis in support of preliminary engineering and final design), project-related right-of-way activities (in coordination with VTA Real Estate), construction management and close out, overall program/project management (including scopes, costs, schedules and quality of work), management of staff resources (both VTA and consultant), coordination with project stakeholders within VTA and beyond (e.g., local agencies, Caltrans, federal agencies, resources agencies, utilities, etc.), and community and other outreach (working with VTA public information and government affairs staff).
 

The City of Auburn is hiring to fill a part-time, Retired Annuitant Bus Driver I/II position.  Under general supervision, this position operates a bus over designated routes to transport passengers; maintains established schedule; and ensures passenger safety.

The Retired Annuitant position is limited to work no more than 960 hours per fiscal year.  Placement in the class series is dependent upon qualifications.  The salary range for each level is below:

• Bus Driver I:  $45,864 - $58,552
• Bus Driver II:  $48,152 - $61,484

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

TEMPORARY POTTERY INSTRUCTOR

 (Recreation Instructor 2 - Job Code 9523)

Hours: 3 to 9 hours/week. Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30).  

Recreation Services Division is seeking self-motivated, energetic, responsible individuals interested in employment as a pottery instructor for adults. Under general supervision of the Recreation Services Coordinator, pottery instructors are responsible for teaching pottery techniques through lecture and demonstrations.  Classes are run year-round and meet once a week for 3 hours. Class sessions are six weeks long and include a week break for cleaning and restocking after two consecutive class sessions (every 12 weeks).

• Teach pottery/ceramic classes by leading and demonstrating techniques associated with the subject matter
• Maintain a safe, friendly and inclusive class environment for all participants
• Adjust class as appropriate and as needed to meet the various skill levels of participants
• Develop curriculum for each class meeting
• Knowledge of glazing and firing techniques
• Develop projects to keep class interesting for both regular and repeat participants
• Maintain documentation as required
• Report to work in a timely manner and appropriately prepared

WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing personal customer service. The need to lift, drag and push, pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds is also required. The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduation from high school or tested equivalent; AND
• A minimum of 2 years as a professional potter or ceramicist; AND
• A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching *additional years of professional studio work may be substituted for teaching experience. 

Knowledge of:
Pottery and ceramic techniques including centering, wheel throwing, slab rolling, wedging, hand-building, low- and high-firing and glazing is required. Experience with alternative firing techniques is desirable, but not required.

• Develop new and interesting class curriculum
• Work with students of all levels and skill sets simultaneously

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• A degree(s) in pottery/ceramics 
• Practicing ceramicist/potter with exhibition and studio experience

THE POSITION
The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, responsible individual interested in assisting with the administration and supervision of After School, Camp, Contracted Classes, Pre-School and Teen Programs.  The Project/Grant Assistant 1 aids in the planning, administration and implementation of all programs hosted through the Recreation Services Division, Youth and Teen Unit.

Essential Job Functions

(May include, but are not limited to, the following):

• Assist Recreation Services Coordinators in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of programs for Pre-School, Camp, Teen, After School and special events;
• Train and supervise part-time staff, as well as assist with staff recruitment and development;
• Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of program such as preparing activity/staff schedules and calendars, collect registration information, tabulate participant evaluations, purchasing supplies, maintaining inventory, cover open shifts, record keeping, program quality assurance or giving staff direction;
• Interact with parents, caregivers, volunteers, school district and City staff;
• Provide excellent customer service;
• Prepare public correspondence and promotional materials;
• Ensure the safety and well-being of program participants;
• Perform other duties as assigned.
