Education: Equivalent to a master's degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, and/or Business Administration, or in a related field from an accredited college or university.

 

Experience: Five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a multi-faceted health organization and/or healthcare system.

City Manager’s Office – 3 positionsThe City Manager’s Office is recruiting for three Management Analysts that will be assigned respectively to the general City Manager’s Office, Mayor and Council Office, and Santa Clara Stadium Authority (Stadium Authority). There will be opportunities for cross-functional projects and assignments.

City Manager’s Office
The City Manager's Office is responsible for providing strategic direction and support to all City departments for day-today operations and planning, as well as support to the City Council with its policy making. In this capacity, the City Manager's Office resolves complex administrative matters, performs City-wide policy analysis, directs city-wide emergency
preparedness efforts; drives strategic planning and organizational development; oversees employee relations; directs the preparation of the budget in conformance with the Council's approved priorities and Budget Principles; and advises the Council of the City’s financial outlook. In addition, the City Manager's Office has direct responsibility for economic
development, community outreach and engagement, property management, sustainability, community grants, legislative advocacy, and special projects.  
 
The Management Analyst in the City Manager’s Office will be responsible for supporting executive staff, working on projects and assignments related to City programs, and managing the department’s budget and financials.
 
Responsibilities may include:

• Assist in the preparation and administration of the City Manager’s Office departmental budget and financials.
• Administer and/or support key programs and initiatives that may include the City’s Legislative Advocacy, Minimum Wage, Community Grant, Smoke-Free Santa Clara, and Safety Programs, the City’s service request platform (MySantaClara), organizational development, homelessness response, sustainability, real estate, economic development, employee engagement, and development of an internship program.
• Assist with the coordination of the annual Priority Setting Session.
• Provide staff support for committees and serve as a liaison to external organizations and community groups.
• Respond to Public Records Act requests and other inquiries from the public. 
• Provide contract management for various types of agreements. 
• Review, analyze, and prepare a variety of work products including agenda reports to the City Council, policies, agreements, correspondence, Request for Proposals, and other documents. 

 
Mayor & Council Office
The Mayor and Council Office is a division under the City Manager’s Office. The division manages the scheduling for Mayor and City Councilmembers, oversees the fiscal management of the Mayor and Council Office budget, supports official travel needs, and responds to constituent concerns.
 
The Mayor and Council Office’s Management Analyst supports City Council Committees, other intergovernmental assignments, reviews Public Record Act requests for the Mayor and Council, provides support for legislative matters, develops ceremonial and recognition reports, and supports special events. Additionally, the Management Analyst may write remarks and speeches and may be assigned to support City Manager’s Office projects and initiatives. There will be occasional evening work required at City Council meetings.
 
City Manager’s Office/Stadium Authority Executive Director’s Office
The City Manager’s Office also operates as the Stadium Authority Executive Director’s Office. The Stadium Authority owns Levi’s Stadium and contracts with the Forty Niners Stadium Management Company (Stadium Manager) for the management of Non-NFL Events and facility operations and maintenance. The Executive Director’s Office is responsible for the day-to-day management of Stadium Authority operations and providing oversight of the Stadium Manager’s responsibilities.
 
The Stadium Authority Management Analyst will assist the Executive Director’s Office with the day-to-day management of Stadium Authority operations and oversight efforts. This may include responding to inquiries from the public and stadium patrons, assisting with the development of the Executive Director’s Office budget, reviewing and preparing a variety of documents including agreements, Requests for Proposals, and agenda reports to the Stadium Authority Board, providing staff support for meetings, coordinating with departments on financial, legal, and/or public safety matters, supporting community outreach and engagement efforts, conducting research, tracking various assignment and project updates, and working on special projects as assigned.

Silicon Valley Power (Electric Department) – 1 position The Electric Department is seeking a Management Analyst to support its Operations Divisions. This position will support the purchasing and contract management activities of the Operations focused Management Team (Purchase Order process management, RFP development and management, budget preparation, contracts management and processing, policy and procedure development and maintenance).  
 
Ideally, candidates will have prior experience working in cross-functional utility teams, utility operations, purchasing and contracts management, and will have a demonstrated aptitude for grasping, conveying, and applying information related to electric or similar technical and dynamic systems as well as interpreting regulations. Experience managing MS SharePoint is highly desirable.
 
Responsibilities may include:

• Develops and manages internal procedures, documents, training materials, and controls related to purchasing guidance and management
• Provides assistance, guidance, and support, in all purchasing and contracts management activities
• Maintains awareness of changes to purchasing codes and guidance by reviewing purchasing updates, maintaining relationships with employees in the finance and purchasing Divisions, meetings, and calls, and reports back potential impacts to the organization

Work Environment/Working Conditions:

Under the supervision of the Volunteer Program Manager in the Visitor Services Department, this position will primarily report out of a designated Midpen field office (Cupertino and/or La Honda), which will include volunteer projects and administrative tasks. This position also works from home approximately one day per week (as approved) and occasionally at the Administration office in Los Altos.  Volunteer initiatives directed by this role may take place across various preserves requiring regular travel to and from the locations.  The Volunteer Program Lead’s schedule requires working at least one weekend day as part of the regular work week schedule, with an option to be on a 9/80 schedule after an initial training period plus occasional evenings and holidays.

 

The Volunteer Program Lead is a fairly independent position that supports the work of one or more departments within the agency, requiring solo work in the field, frequent site visits, and hiking steep terrain in wildland areas with poison oak and wildlife. Field work will also require driving a District truck in remote areas on unimproved dirt roads in inclement weather conditions. Work in the field may also include exposure to loud noise levels, road hazards, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, hazardous physical substances and fumes.

 

Ideal candidates will be comfortable working in these types of field conditions, as well as in an office environment including some full days of program administrative tasks using various software programs and applications on a computer, phone, or tablet.

Additionally, candidates should be familiar with the principles and practices of trail building, construction, repair, and maintenance, including site planning and resource protection as well as the tools and equipment required for maintaining and repairing open spaces and related facilities.

 

This position wears a prescribed District uniform and adheres to strict safety procedures and work habits. Depending on the exposure, employees may be required to wear head, hearing, eye, foot, face, hand, or other protection equipment.

• One (1) year of experience in evaluating, surveying, or monitoring of natural resource systems, OR

Licenses & Certifications Required:  

• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within six (6) months of employment.

Housing Programs Specialist II

$34.44 - $46.15/Hourly DOQ

Bi-weekly: $2,755.20 - $3,692.00

This position will serve as the primary contact for all applicants applying for housing assistance programs and the administration of rental assistance programs. The incumbent will perform technical and programmatic aspects, requiring the interpretation and application of regulations, policies, and procedures to determine the eligibility of program services, ensuring accurate processing of data, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

What our Team is looking for:
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include:
• An associate degree with coursework in liberal arts, humanities, social work, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of responsible experience providing direct client services including caseload management functions with an assisted housing or other social services program and customer service.
• A bachelor’s degree is desirable.
• Bilingual skills are desired, but not required.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is actively seeking two (2) full-time Community Engagement Coordinators (CEC) to join the City Administration Department and the Gilroy Police Department. In this dynamic role, the CECs will collaborate with the Administration and Police Department teams to enhance the City's public relations, drive community outreach initiatives, and effectively disseminate information to support the City's operations, services, and policies and procedures. This presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the city's communication and community engagement efforts.

 Under the supervision of the assigned manager, the Community Engagement Coordinator for the City of Gilroy plays a key role in improving various programs. Responsibilities include managing the City's website content, overseeing digital media platforms, coordinating social media and video communication, engaging in public speaking and written communication, handling print and digital media, participating in marketing initiatives, leading and coordinating community engagement efforts, and providing excellent customer service. The duties may vary depending on the assigned department.

 

FIRST YEAR PROJECTS INCLUDE: 

• Police Department

• Publish the Annual Report, showcasing department achievements.
• Lead community outreach to promote key programs and events.
• Develop an internal communications strategy for staff updates.
• Create and manage social media content to boost engagement and brand visibility.
• Serve as media liaison and communications coordinator during critical events.
• Coordinate events like Police Academies, National Night Out, and Coffee with a Cop and other events.
• Revive the Neighborhood Watch Program
• Compile and present monthly social media performance reports.

  City Administration

• Assist with groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and press conferences.
• Coordinate and manage the City's website, ensuring it remains current.
• Lead and conduct City Hall tours.
• Create engaging content for the City's website and digital channels.
• Design the annual Employee Calendar to promote collaboration.
• Act as backup Emergency Public Information Officer.
• Establish an evergreen content library for City campaigns.
• Update the City’s content library with fresh photos, videos, and illustrations.

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. In addition to the expansion, the COO will work to ensure new renewable resources are added to meet the City's and State’s climate goals. The COO is responsible for forecasting service requirements and for planning, organizing and directing assigned resources of the electric utility division in order to meet those requirements. This includes developing and administering the department operations and capital improvement budgets. The COO is expected to exercise critical thinking and detail oriented oversight in ensuring that utility operations are smooth, efficient, and compliant, with responsibility for results including costs, methods, and staffing.
